I had a pretty bad crash yesterday, the visor took the brunt of it, so my query is should the helmet be replaced, it has a few scratches, no visible damage. its 8 months old... definitely replacing the visor. more details here: Apache RTR 160

Studds Ninja or Vega Boolean?

I prefer flip-up helmets, so please advise. Need a lid very bad, the old one had been through so much that it barely has it paint on.

Going by the magnitude as per ur blog, i would suggest changing the helmet itself. As soon as there is an impact on the helmet, there would be damage done to it. Its job is to absorb the impact and not pass it on. So the shell would have taken the shock and some damage would be occured to it, even if u cant see it. Therefore, considering that it has done its job, its better to change to a new helmet.

I think its nuts going for such a helmet. I would rather get a 3-5K helmet and invest the rest to enhance the performance of my bike or better get other safety gear and still have money left to run my bike for a month. No point wearing a 11 grand helmet on a 80 grand bike. No offense meant but you gotta be out of your mind to do such a crazy act. Phew. And btw, your mother is right.

Ofcourse the lid looks flashy (read good graphics), and gels with the red P-220 as well, not to mention it must be safe as an armoured vehicle is!! I guess, if you are satisfied with it, the money is well spent. But, then again, I would like to know does KBC have any lid in the range of say, 4-6k or therabouts? Did you enquire?

nope their range starts from 7500 to 15000 and sparx helmets starts from 6000 to 7500

Had the Samura Daijya for around 3 months. Its comfort level is way better than my Ninja. I ordered it from DSG and they initially sent me only the clear visor, which left me pissed off 'coz I had anticipated the smoked or tinted visor. 3 months later they send me the tinted one.
