That line my friend is so true. As its monsoon, the visor keeps getting dirty alot and I clean it only once a week, but the day I clean it I wonder how superb it it. Really feels like theres no visor.

Looks like every Indian manufacturer is going for the import route! First VEGA, now Steelbird, wonder who's next?

It's strange that big manufacturers are opting to import rather than ramp up their own facilities for better quality products. They seem to be content manufacturing low - end products in India while importing higher end products from China. And it's not that we don't have the capability - AGV acquired an Indian company in Gujarat to manufacture helmets for their Australian market but continues to sell the low end products in India. Just doesn't make sense.

Yes sir, as you've said the same statement a while before, I don't understand . Yes we are obsessed with pricing of a product, and always want the bang for the buck, but that doesn't mean we're compromised right. This is where some so called "fame named" retailers take advantage in India, where they source the same cheap stuff, the only point being, instead of in-house they source the same, flashy cheap stuff from overseas, retail it in a high-end fashion and gain the upper hand and see some pretty good moolah.

If there are so many budding entrepreneurs who want a change, why don't they manufacture something in India that takes our name to the world standards. I mean we have the strictest pollution norms in the world which even made Harley to reconsider their pollution norms before entering India.

I always wish, a brand from India, either be it riding gear or helmet to be seen in MotoGP or similar standards where, the brand just gets instantly recognized the moment people see the brand name and see it in a common man's dome.

Oh boy, I WISH, I WISH, I WISH!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                  The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                  THE END

Its the case not only with helmets but with other products as well, look at the sale of pirated dvd`s vs originals, same is the case with helmets, compare the sales of low end helmets with high end helmets, only 10% of the two wheeler population must be opting for high end products, thats why companies like vega, steelbird etc cant be blamed, they cant suffer losses just to satsify the wants of the 10% two wheeler population.

Kindly go back a few pages, you will find lots of same queries asked by different members. But still answering your question, go for Vega or Studds Motocross Decor which comes in around 1590 in that range, you can get it even less if you bargain it.

In Vega you have motocross helmets ranging from 1400-1700 plain/graphic options.

                          Cheers!

                          • After I lost my Studds Ninja normal one, which I bought for Rs 1000 at the time of purchase of my motorbike (I was not aware of so much safety gears and all that time), few days back...I was in a dilemma whether to go for a helmet ~3k or to go for a cheaper helmet and then saving and later buying a 3-4k helmet.
I wanted few things in the helmet:
                            • tight fit
                            • no suffocation
                            • high speed stability, with minimal noise
                            • good graphics
                            • overall a cool looking helmet
                            • removable inner liners

And then I was tight on the budget, I had an eye on Studds Scorpion online which I found good at around 1.6k, but at the shop I came across Studds Ninja 2G decor which attracted me...and he was not having Scorpion in the stock.
For the price of 1400 INR, I found Ninja 2G decor a good buy, and so I purchased one...Here are some pics

P.S.: It has not got removable inner liners but has got all the other features mentioned, to quite a good extent.
                            Overall, I'm satisfied.

                            • Sunny Sir

I own a Sol SF1 Acme red which is bought from your experience center in Akkarai.
I am in a sales role and spend more than 6 hours a day driving wearing this helmet.
Since it weighs almost 1819 gm, i am looking for an affordable full face helmet considerably lighter than This.
I know that sl68s is around 1600 gm
however i am having a tough time finding out the weight of all sol helmets to compare
it would be of great help to all of us if you could list weight of all sol helmets sold in india

                              thanks
