Still this is a rough picture, but it gives you a picture of how it looks like, though different helmets have different type of engravings in them. This sticker can be seen at the back and of the helmet.

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

        • Here is my detailed review of the LS2 FF351.1

The helmet looks pretty solid, feels neat and the fluidic sort of cuts adds that sportiness to it. The visor is good as compared to my earlier Marshall helmet. On a closer look inside, there is a serious lack of cushion in it. I could easily scuffle a few cushions aside and access the shell. And the shell looks untidily done with gum and black paint done on it improperly. As long as its safe, it shouldn't matter much. A sticker on the shell reveals "Made in China, Oct 2012". Looks like its the fresh lot arriving here.

Coming to the air flow, it has good ventilation on the move with two vents in the rear, and a small on/off type vent arrangement on the top. In the wintery chills of Delhi, I noticed there was a lot of air flowing through the chin area. You will have to cover your neck pretty tight to face the winter chill.

I've ridden it till 90Km/h and the isolation from the external noises was pretty good. No swoosh sounds whatsoever.

I see the new helmets of LS2 coming with the Sharp 4 ratings sticker. The earlier model which I checked few months back had a different (brown coloured ECE sticker) with no mention of Sharp ratings. Can any one confirm any changes done in these helmets or just an addition in stickers?

Here's the Sharp's official rating webpage which I checked to confirm the rating: SHARP Helmets - LS2 Mono

          PROS:
          • Looks (Subjective)
          • Sturdy build
          • Good noise cancellation at city speeds (0 - 100Km/h)

          CONS:
          • Lack of cushion
          • A lot of gap near the chin area (Bad for winters I feel)
          • No clear visor by default

Have an LS2 phobia since last 2 yrs. lookin now to upgrade.

Key requirements: light weight (lighter than current atleast), ability to take a scala headset.
            Budget: 15k max.
Time frame: over next 10days in mumbai.

Any suggestions folks? Would be highly appreciated.

            • People, i have been using the LS2 cartoon for about two years and it got cracked in my last spill..(One thing is, though the helmet cracked, i dint feel any jerk on my head or whatsoever..) it was anyway a time to upgrade..
Now, i need a new helmet, basically an upgrade, preferably with internal sun visor and would be good to have the air pump fit tech on it too as the cheek pads wearin and go loose after usage, and light weight as possible. Budget is about 10K (+-3k)
              Options i have looked for,
              1. Airoh Pit one xr (Ride red): Rs.9,999/- (after ongoing discount) Perfect fit in budget, has ISV (internal sun visor), air pump fit, seems aerodynamic.. but no reviews, ratings are stickered and not embossed. (Dealer: Bachoo motors)
              2. Nolan N63 (Casey stoner replica): Rs.11,990/- Again no reviews, no ISV. I am still ready to buy it if its really worth over the Airoh.
              3. SOL SF-1 Acme (red): Rs.5,200/- Has ISV, LEDs and is DOT certified. (Saves lot of money ) but i am not a real fan of the graphics on it. (Also the other SOL models are not my taste and i find them too flashy) But have heard good reviews.
Or i will have to wait for someone who could carry a Scorpion Exo-500 for me from abroad..(which means no riding or riding with a cracked helmet though the crack is very small)
I also checked the LS2 carbon fiber one, but it weighs as much as the other LS2s and dint really like it(Fit n finish).

I need suggestions or reviews on the above mentioned lids or if any better helmet i have missed out in the price range.
You gotta risk it.. to get da biscuit !!!

Excellent review. Let the helmet get used for a while. That said LS2 is kinda pretty unpredictable, sometimes it's really good, sometimes it's clumsy, both design and finish, guess have to live with it.

Why don't you try AIROH SV55S, or LS2 FF 386, this LS2 is flip up with internal visor, which comes with bluetooth connectivity pod inside the helmet.

I'd suggest you for for AIROH or LS2 FF 386. The AIROH is just an excellent VFM considering the discount Bachoo folks are offering. I'd strongly recommend AIROH just for the discount offered pluse the Eetalian Herithage.

                • Airoh and Nolan are great brands, like vijay said about airoh, i think he uses a high end version model from airoh. So you can take his word for that.

Nolan is also a reputed brand, Motogp pedigree does speak a lot for itself. Don;'t know about the weight factor.

SOL is the most vfm out of the three. I think SOL also has plain coloured helmets, not only the flashy stuff. You might get some idea i think it's there in their website.

P.S: For air pump version, i think Daijya is also a option.

Thanks Sid! , let's group our search, I'll let you know if I find it somewhere. BTW, I feel the visor of our helmet is the same as Nuvo and Daijya. It's engraved as FF-MHR 15, can you confirm if its the same on yours?

Check the engravings here, looks similar http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Bi6ImD2oCI...elmet%2B07.JPG

The manufacturer for all these helmets are same so I feel there is nothing like LS2 helmet, Daijya helmet as such apart from the shell characteristics. I just hope this assumption is true

You are absolutely true on that MHR part, NUVO, Daijya, LS2 are all manufactured in the same production house in China with different brand names, plus added premium pricing as per brand.

Most of the helmet companies outsource to mass produce for cost effectiveness and cheap labor. So, yes, you're absolutely right.

Most of the helmet companies outsource to mass produce for cost effectiveness and cheap labor. So, yes, you're absolutely right.

What about SOL? Is it manufactured in same place where LS2 in manufactured?

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                                The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                                THE END
