FF 358 has better padding(fully removable and washable) 50 gms heavier than FF 350 a better breath deflector and a wonder called air pump to give best fit and protection and FF 358 is 4 starred in SHARP ratring. I have a black smoked visor but I'll get a clear one for night rides.I would suggest clear visor is the only option for night. And FF358 has got a very easy visor removal system so keep a colored visor for day time and clear one for night..
Thanks Bambi, the dealer is not willing to budge but guess will have to try.
I agree, the Celtic fits a lot better than the Phobia for sure and also quite liked the pump thingamagik.

Let me try speaking to another dealer, probably will get a better deal.

    Cheers

Yes, there is a Funky here in Bandra. Will give them a shout too.

      • Got my lid

Bought my lid today. It's a SOL SF01 Acme Green. My ride is the KTM Duke 200. I paid 5400 odd bucks (including tax) and got 2 skull caps plus one balaclava for free. I chose SF01 because of the positive reviews on GM68S plus the features like the bikini visor, the ventilation slits and the 3 stage LED lighting in the back. The bikini visor can be controlled by a knob on the top of the lid. I tried replacing the visor and it was a breeze.

The smaller lid with the Mario print is the one i bought for my son. I don't know if it is safe enough. It fits well enough. I paid 450 bucks for that. If anyone knows about good helmets for kids please shout it out. I wish i got a Mario too, he was one of my early heroes :-)

Megha Enterprises (dealers for SOL) @ Bangalore didn't have it when i checked today. May be they can get one if you hang on to the choice and given them some time.

Hi, Even I'm contemplating on SF01 now because the Orange SL68s may take time and the internal dark visor on SF01 looks like a good feature.
Can you give the location of the Megha showroom in Bangalore. SOL India site doesn't have any Bangalore address.
Do they have all colors of SF01 and SL68 mentioned in Indian site?
                Thanks.

Thanks harsh for the hint, I will wait for the new batch to arrive then.
Do notify when you get to know about it.

OT: Official SOL site does have Megha Enterprise address, I missed it while browsing on mobile.

I had asked this before regarding helmets for kids, with zero response.

As a nation we are 2nd best at making large quantities of kids, I don't really understand why we are probably last place in protecting them on 2 wheelers.

I'm very eager to take my child out on the bike, but won't do until I have a helmet for her.
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Yes the visor is a useful addition. They don't have all colors, so better to have some alternatives in mind before setting out.

This is true. He said something similar. But i had to start driving my duke and couldn't do that without protecting my head.

OT, but that's partly due to the Indian attitude of 'it will not happen to me'. And the policy makers themselves are more worried about restricting the population and not the other way round ?

                        • Am looking to buy a helmet for my wife... LS2 seems like a good option... There are only 2 criterias... Safety and weight... it SHOULD be super light... My budget is Rs. 5000 or less... Any suggestions...?

I was thinking of the VEGA Shadow or the LS2 rage... If anyone has used them please do give me your inputs...

edit: Am hearing a bit about the SOL helmets... Any reviews on those...?

Saurabh's airoh is very light! Everything seems light as compared to my Daijya . Check with him for the price.

I got a SOL 48S (DOT approved; not sticker, but laminated) a month ago & I'm very happy with it; costed about 3.6K; worth every penny; I'm using it for a daily use & say I've clocked nearly 1000 Kms; my previous ones were Vega & Studds & SOL is atleast a century ahead of fit & finish. It also helps in reducing the noise to a considerable extend & head remains stable even at speeds over 140, may be due to snug fit, but still worth a mention on those points. In one word, pure VFM. You can another good review of SOL helmet here - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/739144-post7309.html (courtesy SriramEFunds)
