Hey guys,
I need a Helmet around 10k which I will be using only for touring purposes.
I have a Yohe snell, DOT rated helmet for city riding.
any suggestions are appreciated.

Airoh has some kind of sale on...so you can try. Other than Airoh, you can find KBC, HJC and Sparx in 10k.

Whats wrong in attention from cops. I am hoping you carry all the papers, then whats the fear?

Lol! I do carry all the papers! The reason why I wrote that is that I don't want to get pulled over by cops every second junction/signal just because I look "flashy".

More than that, I am not a big fan of skull/dark graphics on my helmet..Maybe I have become too old for that ...I hope everyone realizes why I wrote such a statement..

you can try Nuvo, sparx, kbc, hjc (all these are under 10k )

Try SOL helmets as they are apt or Sparx helmets.

Sparx also has a problem of its own.. The tape at the base of the helmet has the tendency to peel off. In case it comes off it does not stick back no matter what adhesive you put So, pray before buying a sparx

From when did wearing something flashy become a thing of concer for the law keepers ??!!! Weird is not the word, it's merely an understatement for the situation here. Safety is snorted upon.

I don't wish to drag this on by trying to write more on this...I will end this (atleast by my side) by saying its my opinion (opinion: thinking cops will stop me if i wear flashy helmets) and if you don't like it...you are more than welcome to ignore it ..I am here for helmet advice (which I was asking and was replied to "fruitfully" until this ) and I respect all of you but I would need a reply on things I wanna know about not about anything else...and I am glad to post replies on things I want to help people out on...not something that only waste people's time

I was looking for a fiberglass helmet and wanted to purchase Steelbird Grand Prix Obg Multicolor Sb-19 helmet. Checked different shops in Karol Bagh as well as Steelbird Riderz shop but even they didn't have the complete range of helmets. Chopra Automobile had Steelbird GP One SB-10 helmet. This particular helmet is not manufactured anymore and they had a few pieces left. I liked the helmet and bought GP One SB-10 Flash. The helmet has a solid feel and fits snugly. The fit and finish of the helmet is very good and the graphics of this particular helmet looks good too.

The only con is the visor which is flimsy and asked them if this is the original one and they replied in the affirmative. Searched about the visor and and lots of people have complained about the same. Any alternative of fitting a better visor(brand) and with minimal changes or what changes needs to be done if any(Members who have any experience kindly tell me or share the relevant link).

A GP One helmet sighting after a long time! I had bought the same helmet in black way back in 2006 and I loved it. I too had a visor problem in 2008 / 2009 and I had finally taken it to Balaji helmets where they did some good ol fashioned Indian jugaad to get a new visor that fit well. Ive posted the details somewhere on this thread I guess.

Question of a different kind --

Bought 2 CROSS Helmets a couple of,months ago. For self and better half. However, the other one has not been used yet and have tried reasoning a lot but she would only want an open face helmet as she feels claustrophobic in closed face one. She has not been on any ride with me other than within city.

Question is should I keep the other unused brand new helmet for once in a while ( read max 1nce in a year maybe) usage for her or try to sell it, cause the cushioning and shell might just degrade sitting in shelf without any usage ?

After a very careful decision I finally decided & got home the Airoh Pit One XR Andrea Iannone Replica Helmet from Bachoo Motors. I have been a loyal customer of Mr Zulfi and Im still using & very happy with my RJays Octane Jacket and RJays Higway boots.

The fit of the helmet is really precise & snug. Did not try the helmet before getting it. My Daijya Dragon Helmets size was L based on which I went ahead and got the Airoh in L.

I have still not tested the helmet. Will do so this Sunday over a 500+kms ride and then will post an initial impression review of the helmet. By the looks the fit & finish is really good and the unique florescent based graphics are mind blowing. The dual visor system is much batter then the one on my Daijya helmet (No optical imperfection seen)

I have also posted a pic of my 3 prized helmets (P.S: The one with Shoei written is a stickered Cross Dragon Helmet)

The quality of LS2 helmets is really decreased now the days, I have to tighten the crew regularly otherwise they will get you in trouble on ride....

I guess KBC helmets were pretty nice.
and Sparx I wont trust, I have bought two of them and both of them were faulty in some manner.
So what would you suggest ?

I have had the exact same problem with sparx. lol .
Thtas when i returned it and got a YOHE.

I have still not tested the helmet. Will do so this Sunday over a 500+kms ride and then will post an initial impression review of the helmet.
