Don't tell me now that you didn't get the chart? Have you tried to Google it first?
Hat Size = Circumference of your head, taken from forehead. Just like you wear caps/hats.
    Centimeter(cm)/Inch = Unit of Length
Size = The Size of helmet that would fit

Are you going to buy it because its orange or because of its features?

Hope you enjoy the meal I "served".

P.S : I know my post is too rude and honestly its not aimed towards ayu135, its just a reminder to all the people who just jump into the crowd and ask questions before even investing a few minutes to search the thread. I should not have replied here after my last post, but the queries here forced me to act in this way. Apologies if I have hurt anybody. PERIOD

I have tried searching for it but there were just too many results most were just stuff like budget 5k? buy SOL. SL68 has LED and SL68II has no leds. Thats it. No particular mention about the other differences between the two. And i dont know anything about helmets so i would take whatever people here told me was good for my head hoping that you guys know something. And i dont particularly care what you choose but rather care for why you would choose that. So if you would choose one particular helmet over the other what reasons would compel you to make that choice. That is what is really helpful to me here and will aid me in buying a helmet for myself. I even googled for reviews of the SOL SL68s and the SL68s II but got no results comparing the two.

Don't tell me now that you didn't get the chart? Have you tried to Google it first?

Thank you for the informative answer. Maybe i should have been more specific in my query, the middle column says hat size but has no dimensions and the first and the last column say cm and inch but of what they dont say anything. Eg.

      Size Cm Hat size Inch
      S 55-56cm 67/8-7 21 5/8 - 22

I failed to comprehend what the three columns refer to, the middle column says hat size but what do i make of that number 67/8-7? And what are the columns labelled as Cm or Inch referring to - height, circumference, width? Sorry if i am being thick here but i really did not understand it.

Sorry if my posts seem naive to you guys but cant help it, i completely new to the world of biking and some of the stuff confuses me hence i ask.

hehe ......... I guess the Orange fever is now cured a lil bit ........... good ............. Both are good and my positive guess is that they have the same construction too ............. but if you are really concerned to tear out the difference between them you should contact the SPG customer care team by calling/mailing them. Those guys are very prompt in replying.

I would suggest that you try the helmets first. If the one you want is not with the dealer, then try another model of the same shell (68 or 68II) and then order the model of your choice with the same size. There are no issues in ordering online and checking with the chart, but, sometimes the calculations don't match.

I agree. I calculated the size according to SPG table given. According to the chart it was 'S' but when i went to the shop the only size that fit me perfectly was 'L'.

So be careful while ordering online with regard to size coz size matters

68S has the LEDs the SII doesn't have the LED but practically both are the same helmets, from my observation. See, just as a case in point, a dual sport helmet made by ARAI has been tested to the same standard as a street spec helmet, if not 95 percent. But where a dual sport and off road differs is the visor, sun shade etc. For example, an off-road helmet works on low speed basically in dusty conditions to *ALLOW* for more air and breathability. Whereas a DUAL SPORT is different, it offers the comfort of a motox helmet, with comparable protection of a full face. Just for example, a high speed collision in a DUAL SPORT would cause serious injuries than a full face helmet, but the different between the both is really a fine line. Cheap DS helmets are sluggish in performance and create wind lifts, but expensive ones are engineered for the maximum juice.

Absolutely true. Sizing in chart may not be true to real world situations, and I've been through this and seen this issue in most of people I know. The best idea would be to get an approximate size by sizing ones crown and then if possible try the helmet in person and see how it fits. But for online buyers, this can be tricky, but do we have any choice! But it's always nice to get a sizing approximation before one zeroes in on the helmet.

                    Cheers!

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Just picked up my sol dragon and I am simply in love with it. The padding is super comfy and its excellent at reducing the outside sound.

About DOT ratings, don't really worry about it. It's very rarely cops stop you exclusively to check the ISI mark , maybe sometime when they stop you for something else they might check (happened to me twice so far) but on talking to a senior cop, I always got it sorted. What's really important is your safety and DOT ratings guarantee just that.

Having used both ls2 and cross previously I can vouch for the fact that SOL is way better.
