The problem with LS2 is not whether its original or fake....and there are very high chances that you have the "original" helmet dstributed by "laxmi automibiles" ...the national distributor.

The problem is that its place of manufacturing in unknown and we dont know whether its ECE sticker is genuine.

Also, regarding the LS2 Helmets site, in the link provided by Vishwas, under products, the LS2 link takes you to LS2 Worldwide, which in turn links to the Anil Gupta site.

I have an LS2 manufactured in 2012 with the ECE sticker on it, bought from an 'authorised dealer'. The build seems good and hard and feels way better than my older Steelbird SB helmet. What are the chances of it being fake? Should I consider binning it and buying a new one?
Bro I just recently got one LS2. While in the store I tried Rhyno from Studds and also Vega Boolean and Vega off roader. For sure I can differentiate the comfort offered by the LS2 and it was very different from others. I have used Studds downtown also, that's actually a compact helmet. But LS2 or KYT or Airoh has that difference which you can feel after putting it on.

Same is the case with MT helmets. Starts at 60 and above 80 its noticeable. Though i never tested my MT helmet above 100 kmph.
Also ventilation ports work after 60mph. Below 60 and at signals its hot inside.

Well post triple digit speeds noise hardly matters if you're doing it for some minutes .but if you're touring on 100+ kmph then it can result yi hear loss .by the way indian traffic rules and to those xbhp rule police .max speed is 80 permitted so this helmet is very vfm at only 1500rupees.

I agree and believe its a vfm. The only problem with studs is that its not competitive and aggressive in marketing and launching premium models. It has the potential to give a real hard time for atleast some of these imported helmets which are considerd cheep amongst the lot in western world and premium in our country.

So I guess I'll have to stop worrying about it and consider it to be 'genuine' as it has that 'good feel' of the premium helmets. Thanks for the replies

"ECE sticker" are rarely original..!! We have had that discussion before here right, and iirc the manufacturing was said to be in China. Just like most of the other brands.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure the ECE stickers are fake. If they really had it ECE certified, they would have proudly got it painted on the helmet. I'm guessing that the Laxmi Automobile guys are the ones who are sticking this ECE crap. The LS2 FF350 has a genuine 4 star Sharp rating. But what we cannot be sure of is whether these FF350s are built with same standard as the ones that were sent to Sharp for testing.

Now about the FF350, if you do a small history check in this forum, you will find out the validity of the 4star rating of that particular model.

The topic has already been beaten to death in that section

The discussion of Sharp rating was done on FF351, not FF350 IIRC. The FF350 does show 4 star rating on the Sharp website. But again, I don't think the FF350s sold in India follow the same standard as the Sharp rated ones as those seem to cost around 110 GBP.

No problem. But you were right. I highly doubt the validity of the Sharp wrt the Indian FF350 as I don't think the FF350s sold in India follow the same standard as the Sharp rated ones as those seem to cost around 110 GBP where as the ones sold here cost 30 GBP.

Yeah, validity is a concern, so when i really learned about it, I upgraded to sparx.

But they aren't as bad as the cheap local stuff being sold here.
