I'm planning to buy a HJC as my next helmet. Heard I can pick one up for 6 or 7 grand. I'm not the fancy type, don't care about stickering. Any suggestions on a particular model of HJC? Also inputs on where I can buy them in either Chennai or Bangalore) would be welcome.

Re: Helmets
i have used the Vega Boolean too.. its an absolute screamer even at low speeds.. and above 50kmph its very difficult to drive. and its a fogging expert. thing is, if you have to stop fogging, you need keep the visor open a bit, and that inscreases wind noise. to turn that down, you need to close the visor, and that leads to fogging... :3Originally posted by Ajay Vishwanath View PostGot MT Axxis today.. Rs 4150.. Felt like my head was inside a car made for it.. Upgrading from a broken Vega Boolean.. Miss the flexibility thoe.. have to remove my spectacles when wearing/removing the helmet.. or I'm sure I'll break 'em some day.. For the first time in my life, my ears thanked me for choosing this helmet such that I thought that wind noise is normal.. Felt real peace & real heaven..
now im on the Sol s69Sii, and its absolute opposite. almost nil wind noise till 65kmph, no fogging, good ventilation. im happy with it

Re: Helmets
Hello fellow FM.
I am from mumbai, Dombivli & looking out for good full face helmet with budget in 3000 to 4000 rs. Currently i am using studd`s open face helmet got at 1200 Rs. (Did big mistake of buying this open face helmet when i bought my ride, as this are not good for long ride, lots of wind noise, dust problems etc.) I went to BABLOO motors at vashi. Checked few helmets, found one model of LS2 suitable for my budget as other are above 4500Rs(out of my budget) but it had tinted visor & i need helmet with clear visor. Also he seems to be pricing higher than actual cost of helmet, i felt. There are also few shops in line on LBS marg in mulund (On right hand side when heading towards mulund from teen hat naka over bridge from thane). They are also selling LS2 helmets when i visited there last time for gloves & balclava cap. Are they genuine LS2 of fake one? As many FM are alerting about sale of fake LS2 in market. If any one had bought helmets from them, let me know. Also where are other place/ shops in mumbai suburbs where i can get good helmets in my price range.

Re: Helmets
One of the ways in knowing if the ls2 is fake, is to see the sticker they have on the visor and the label inside the helmet which is on the inner side of the padding. If any one has chinese markings, then its a fake. An ls2 showroom guy told me so.
Also, you get a two year warranty card for the original. If the showroom guy avoids or doesn't put a stamp or signature on the card, its a bad news for you then! Additionally, every ls2 has a unique number located on the inside of it. The company is taking measures to correct the loss in sales.

Re: Helmets
Amazon has finally delivered the KYT helmet I had ordered a month back. Interestingly, I had cancelled the order and the refund was obtained 2 weeks back.
Haven't opened the box yet. They delivered it to my apartment security guard without calling me. Else could've asked him to take it back. Guess I'll wait a few days and see if they ask to return it

Re: Helmets
Is their anyway to block out high beams using a certain type of visor? I have a LS2 helmet with a tinted visor but it is of no use against high beam. Have to almost come to standstill with high beam cars coming from opposite way..
Any idea on how to manage? There is no better therapy than riding a bike down a straight road at full throttle with the sound of the engine for company.

Re: Helmets
AFAIK, you cannot block out high beam or low beam... Best bet is to use a good quality clear visor. Good quality visors dont blot the light incident on it.. It will feel like normal, clean vision.Originally posted by mustang28 View PostIs their anyway to block out high beams using a certain type of visor? Re: Helmets
get a good polarised visor. which cuts off the glare. however it will not cut it 100% but make it bearable. as time pass by and it get those minor scratches it will be back to what you have now. but clear visor will work better anyday at night riding. get good quality night riding glasses.Originally posted by mustang28 View PostIs their anyway to block out high beams using a certain type of visor?
