Re: Helmets Under 3000 Rupees (Indian) for every biker.
Good or bad depends on individual preference there has been a discussion going about lots of fake LS 2 in markets so if you buy from a genuine source like a authorized dealer or distributor its good you can do a little research on your own from what I read thro the entire posting MT has good helmets if you are willing to spend 1k more.Browse online visit shops and get the lid that fits you perfect.Safe DrivingOriginally posted by Jagzxbhp View Post

Mt has good helmets means? mt a brand? also vega, studds, aaron, steelbird or any brand that provides dot certification under 3000 rupees helmet. I just can't trust ISI standards so preferring a dot standard full face helmet with dual visorOriginally posted by deepakshankar View PostGood or bad depends on individual preference there has been a discussion going about lots of fake LS 2 in markets so if you buy from a genuine source like a authorized dealer or distributor its good you can do a little research on your own from what I read thro the entire posting MT has good helmets if you are willing to spend 1k more.Browse online visit shops and get the lid that fits you perfect.Safe Driving4 wheels move your body, 2 wheels move your soul .

Re: Helmets Under 3000 Rupees (Indian) for every biker.
Cheapest DOT certified dual visor helmet you have is MT blade and it costs ~₹5500.Originally posted by Jagzxbhp View PostMt has good helmets means? mt a brand? also vega, studds, aaron, steelbird or any brand that provides dot certification under 3000 rupees helmet. Also, ISI standard is not bad either. Studds scorpion, shifter, couple of helmets from Steelbird are also really good.
LS2, MT, SOL etc are some companies which have helmets in around ₹4-5k.
Go through some 15-20 pages back and read from that, you will find many options.
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Helmets Under 3000 Rupees (Indian) for every biker.
The helmet should touch the tank just for the support , that too while doing long stretches, or else just tucking behind the visor is enough. And if even touching the helmet moves it over your head, sorry to say, your helmet is not of correct size.Originally posted by Ajay Vishwanath View PostYou're right.. almost.. it's touching the tank... Is that a wrong position..?

2) What is the reason that you dont trust ISI standard? Studds Rhyno and Shifter is one of the best value for money helmets if some is tight on budget.

Re: Helmets Under 3000 Rupees (Indian) for every biker.
You simply cannot Indian brands with Isi certification are bad you have many good helmets by studds Vega as mentioned by others. Other than Vega axor not sure if anything else comes with dot certification. If you are tight on budget studds shifter Vega axor are a good buy. As suggested by other members have a read through of all discussion I was looking for went through all of it and now have a good idea of thingsOriginally posted by Jagzxbhp View PostMt has good helmets means? mt a brand? also vega, studds, aaron, steelbird or any brand that provides dot certification under 3000 rupees helmet. Im new in xbhp.

This forum contains 1300 pages, so searching is a bit difficult for me.
I don't trust ISI cause standards are sold/brought in my country and not maintained by companies. Our law never checks manufacturing quality or manufactured quality of a product.
Same reason why everybody prefers a Japanese bike than a TVS one.

They'll have the jackets that are cheap to the expensive Alpinestars etc. also have a very good range of helmets.
Then Moto101 is a new store opened up at Bandra, they also have a good range of stuff and run by very nice people who are bikers themselves. They stock the MT helmet range as well as HJCs and good range of gloves and helmets.
Then coming to South Mumbai, there is Performance Racing Store at Tardeo which has very good stuff, but most of it is very expensive side (most of their helmets start at 15k onwards) and just opp that is Bachoo Motors which is my personal fav. Bachoo has a very good range of affordable branded safety gear, you should try that.
All these have their own dedicated FB pages, which you should check out first. Also see JV Promoto at Bandra East.
Cheers

Studds helmets (https://www.google.co.in/search?q=st...ial&channel=sb)
And now coming to ISI standards...Just answer a simple question : Do you eat/ wear/ travel only in Japanese made things? If not then you should now hand-pick only Japanese items for these things as you dont trust Indian Standards.
What is the proof that the DOT/ECE helmet you will get will not be a stickered one?
Its a matter of personal choice when it comes to choosing, so stop judging that one is good and other is bad or vice-versa.
P.S : I am a TVS owner, and after 50k kms on odo and torturing its still going good than others who have bought Japs (no offense to owners, just giving an example).Last edited by prateek2210; 11-27-2014, 01:01 AM.Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

Re: Helmets
Though Prateek has made the point I would like to put in my 5 cents outright rejection of ISI or indian make is totally wrong.I have been riding a Bajaj bike for past 14 years and wearing the same ISI certified helmet Safe.So your outright rejection is misplaced in my personal opinion. With regard to being new even though I am a member of the forum for more than a year I still pretty new and if I need something I need to search read and research. My kind advice/suggestion to you is research analyse before you conclude.Originally posted by Jagzxbhp View PostIm new in xbhp.

Who checks whether an isi standard helmet is actually made according to the standard? We don't have an authority to do that, even the higher authority police doesn't know of dot standard, harassing superbikers now and then:banghead:Originally posted by deepakshankar View PostThough Prateek has made the point I would like to put in my 5 cents outright rejection of ISI or indian make is totally wrong.I have been riding a Bajaj bike for past 14 years and wearing the same ISI certified helmet Safe.So your outright rejection is misplaced in my personal opinion. With regard to being new even though I am a member of the forum for more than a year I still pretty new and if I need something I need to search read and research. My kind advice/suggestion to you is research analyse before you conclude.4 wheels move your body, 2 wheels move your soul .

Re: Helmets
Well for the of argument I can quote loads of examples but would be OT.I would simply conclude saying all that is Indian aint bad and similarly all that is international does not need to be good. Finally boils down to personal choice requirement budget comfort and all other related factors period

Re: Helmets
@Jagzxbhp : Ok now that you taken the Duke issue, let me give you some facts. CBR250R introductory lots had problems, oh yes, its a Honda, Japanese.
2014 R1 lot had issues, and company recalled some of them for rectification, oh yes, its a Yamaha , a superbike, Japanese.
You want more such things, but then I would be going OT which honestly I dont want.
We have given you the name of the Helmets, with links too, now if you are defending your theory of ISI being bad, go through those, get some research done and then decide.
And even then if you want to be spoon-fed, I hope members here will be more than happy to help you.
PERIOD. Done with your case. Ride safe on your Indian Bajaj
