Go for VEGA high-end one costing ~2500, i was blown away by the looks, padding and fit and finish. I got one for my friend last week, he is damn happy with it. He paid 2600 for the same, but i feel you can get it for little less than that if you visit other shops and check. We got it from balaji helmets though, didnt go to any other shops.Originally posted by TomSawyer View PostFew reasons I wouldn't purchase other than 'perfect fit':
1. Most of them could be old inventories. Spotted KBC VR7 for $39.00, (eBay item 370152905751) only to discover its 2003 product line. methinks Anything mfg beyond 2007 not worth the buy.
2. shipping to India - Can't trust India Post -through US Post. Helmet likely to be manhandled even if FedEx, DHL, UPS.
3. Friend bringing it: Only if he carries it as cabin baggage. Better get it myself.
& ISI anytime, over Chinese imitation goods.
Its lid shopping time for me @ J.C Road. Budget 2k. KBC costs a bomb here. Likely contenders: AGV (MPA), Torx, Studds Bravo. Anything better I could find at this price?
P.S: I'm now living with Globe Knight Rider.
Otherwise consider AGV(MPA).
Torx too cost a lot ~6000+.
I found a few GPR, BHP helmets too but was not happy with them as i was skeptical if they were imitations, so stay away from them.

You CAN trust Fedex, DHL with shipping to India. I shipped my Arai and KBC helmet to Gwalior (MP) from San Jose, Cali using Fedex as they would take a lot of space in my luggage. I had to pay ~3500 INR in customs but helmets were delivered fine...as I packaged them with caution.Originally posted by TomSawyer View PostFew reasons I wouldn't purchase other than 'perfect fit':

Check your head size before buying the Vega high end helmet. They have only one shell size&modify the padding to make 2 sizes-S(55-56cms.)&L(57-58cms.). My head size is 60cms. Enquired with the Vega company officials&they said the max they could modify the padding was upto 58cms. Hard luck for me, I have to manage with the Boolean (620mm)!Originally posted by cssk View PostGo for VEGA high-end one costing ~2500, i was blown away by the looks, padding and fit and finish. Dude, The MotoShop[Official Mumbai dealers for Planet DSG] at Nagpada, Mumbai Central has a lot of the Daijya collection left! You might wanna check it out. Infact I'm going there today itself to get DSG NRP3 gloves. If you plan to go by train, then get off at Mumbai Central on the eastern side. Come out to the main road and ask a cabbie to take you to Nagpada Police Station. Will cost you 13 bucks only.Originally posted by Shadowboy View PostGuys Need help.
Where do we get Daijya helmets in mumbai, I don't see they are posted in DSG sites also, has DSG stopped their sales & Distribution
if anyone knows , Please let me the address where in mumbai i can acquire one,
The Police Station is just after a cross-road(junction with signals). Get off there itself, and head towards your left, there's a road undergoing major BMC work with barricades and dug up roads. Walk down that road for about 2 to 2.5 minutes. You will find 'The MotoShop' written in bold on a large name plate above the shop. Bingo, your there!Last edited by 46wannabe; 02-12-2009, 03:21 PM.10 Commandments:

Fortunately my head size is ~58cms, will buy it in a couple of months.
Got one for my friend though, small size.
Did you try the helmet? If its not too tight they you can give it a try as the padding will come down by 1cm atleast with usage.
Didnt buy any full face helmet?
Hope this helpsOriginally posted by biker boy View PostHi, can you please post a pic of the helmet.

PS: The owner of this pic is not me, it was posted in this thread long ago.
Anyone bought this helmet for less than 2600.
Any idea about the cost of the visor of this helmet, i was quoted 380
at balaji helmets.
Any price difference between tinted and plain visor for the same?
How is the visibility with the tinted visor?
Which one is better among blue visor or silver visor (mirror finish)?
I will get a plain one but want to buy a tinted as well, so your inputs are appreciated.

I got it for my friend for just Rs. 1950 at balaji helmets, lalbagh road just 2 weeks back. Price difference b/w plain & tinted is just Rs. 100 normally you can get it anything of your choice for free be it tinted or plain if you are buying any premium helmet..Originally posted by cssk View Post

if you are looking for tinted then go for silver tinted, it can be used even at nights
cost of tinted visors costs Rs. 220-250 there at balaji helmets.. more you bargain more discounts you get there

Brown nearing yellow - amber. Brown lenses improve depth perception and contrast in various light conditions. (or so I read.). No wonder skiing, shooting, sailing, motocross goggles are of this color.
I rode with a brown Aviator glasses , pretty good visibility even at dusk.
But is this brown colored visor available at all?
I'll have to try the silver tint..
Slightly OT:
Now that most xBHPians in Bangalore buy from Balaji Helmets / Megha, could we look at collective purchasing & referral discounts? say, A 10% discount on a 6k lid is good amount!
Maybe we could pass on the discounts to xBHP operating costs/ social causes, the community we've come to love so much.
Anyone going to start a new thread?Kaveriappa

I too got it for my friend 2 weeks back, WTF he took 2600 after bargaining, i had seen other XBHP members buying it for 2300-2500 so settled for 2600.Originally posted by Velocity View PostI got it for my friend for just Rs. 1950 at balaji helmets, lalbagh road just 2 weeks back. Thanks for enlighting me, i wont pay more than 2000 when i buy the same, again that shop owner quoted 380 for visors saying that they were imported
This guy didnt even have AGV/MPA, so couldnt compare the two visually.
Any other better shops on lalbagh road who dont rip off like this shop?
This will help other potential buyers as well...
Thats badOriginally posted by R15Rocks View PostLucky you! It was too tight for me...my head size is exactly 60cms.so only the Boolean was well-fitting (62cms.)
Try AGV/MPA if you are looking out for other VFM full face helmets.
Good thought there, i am sure many will come forwardOriginally posted by TomSawyer View PostMy preferred visor tints:

i had written long back in the same thread, Balaji Helmets cheats every customer they don't need any loyal customers they just wanna rip off everyone who comes to shop there. another bangy member 'pranay' also had got cheated around 1.2k & later got refund from balaji.Originally posted by cssk View PostI too got it for my friend 2 weeks back, WTF he took 2600 after bargaining, i had seen other XBHP members buying it for 2300-2500 so settled for 2600.

almost all the shops there & also at jc road rip off everyone.. so better bargain until you find worth & then buy it..
balaji has got more stocks & more products than others but they cheat everyone thats the problem..
I myself buy a new visor from them atleast once in a month even though i know the price which i had paid last time they say we never sell this visor at that price.. i pay ~10rs everytime :-(
