Thanks for taking the time. Now while you're absolutely correct in all you have said, it hasn't quite helped. See, about 5. , I've always taken care since I first straddled my rusty old CT-100, and 4. I plan to check.
But I'm a newbie, who would have no Idea in hell about 1., 2., and 3. by looking. That's why I'm here. Asking experts that please tell me one you know that is good!
Why the budget? Because if I just say "tell me the best helmet there is", the answer would probably be worth more than my bike.
I understand completely that price does not equal quality. but 1. What actually equals quality, I have no clue about. I wouldn't know a good helmet from a bad one if it bit me. 2. For most products, there's generally a minimum amount that you have to spend to get something that is worth anything. In helmets that seemed to be around 2k (no. of options explodes around this price point.) I do acknowledge I may be wrong about that.
So there, my question is back - I do not know what makes a good helmet, please name one I can buy. I do not have a lot of money, so value for money is prime concern. 2k is the sweet spot, but extendable ofcourse. If there are no road-safe helmets below 3k, I'll go there. Looks are dispensable.
    Valid points,
that's why my post was not to help you on what helmet to take, but instead, what all should be the deciding factor of any helmet you choose and pick the best within your limit.
For point 1,2,3 all the details is here in this thread, you can get the details if you search back a few pages.

Now coming to the actual question, in my personal opinion, helmets worth 2k are not that great when you take serious protection in mind. Bump the budget to 3-4k as your base amount and now you have quite a few options
    1)Sparx
    2)MT
    3)HJC
4)LS2 (Least prefered as there are lots of fakes going around)

If budget can be increased a bit more you have
    1)HJC
    2)Airoh

then on its the premium segment, which I am not so sure you are interested in , so not mentioning them.

    Cheers

What is the average life of a Helmet, I mean the longest duration a helmet's glue holding various protective elements stay strongest, without a fall.?

I have been using a Cross Helmet, since the last one and a half year. During the earlier days, the helmet used to fit quite well, quite snuggly, but since the last couple of months, the wind noise seems to have increased and the helmet doesn't seem to fit that well.

PS: My head has not shrunk..:P
So, of course I'm also looking for an upgrade, to an HJC OR a SOL Metalman.

          New Flash!

SPG have just launched their own line of motorcycle helmets. Named KRANOS - which means helmet in Ancient Greek - these helmets are made in collaboration with MT Helmets, Spain and have a genuine ECE R22.05 certification issued from Spain. The first model of their range, named the Imola Future, features multiple vents, removable and washable lining, UV and anti- scratch treated visors, D-ring fasteners, and multiple sizes M / L / XL . Currently 14 different colours/graphic variants are available and the product is sold with a one year warranty against manufacturing defects when purchased from an authorised reseller.

By investing in their own production, SPG was able to lower the import prices and have passed on this benefit to the Indian biker. The helmets are available through SPG dealers and Moto 101 stores countrywide at a special introductory price of Rs. 3350/- inclusive of VAT in all states.

Hey guys. I want to buy a new helmet. I saw the mt blade with isle of man graphics. Love the way it looks. I currently use a sparx s07. Wonderful helmet. Unbelievably light weight. So wanted to know if the mt blade is a good buy. What about the safety level, noise levels and comfort. Is it sharp rated? I couldnt find it on the sharp website.

Hey guys I'm looking for a Half face helmet for my brother. He bought a Honda Aviator recently. I noticed a few activa riders with a half face helmet with Honda branding above visor. Not sure which make, but it looks good. Any idea which make they are and any reviews if anyone of you have it.

Its a white and green helmet. Actually I like yellow and white but I noticed its availability after I placed my order. I talk to customer care, they asked me to cancel the order and place it again
But it will again take few more days to process it and I needed it urgently so didn't canceled it.
White and green is also great combination. Ps. I own blacker Gixxer.

Is it vega axor or just axor? The axor is the imported ones which are made in Italy and do not have the inner visor but the lining quality is much better, vega axor is indian made with inner visor and lower lining quality.

Its Vega axor but its clearly mentioned on the website as well as on the booklet which I got along with the helmet that its imported (designed in USA and engineered in Italy). Also it doesn't have inner visor FYI.
