Re: Helmets confusion
I did order for the SOL helmet but their authorized dealer (Babloo Motors) had only matte finish unicorn helmets. I wanted to buy the glossy finish for better visibility. They informed that they will order it from Sol and get it in a week. Waited for a week but they said we are only receiving matte finish for this model. Do you still suggest to get matte finish of SOL Unicorn?Originally posted by prathjazz View PostVinay, I have used SOL Unicorn for more than 3 years now and i think that its a good buy. It does not come with internal visor, so i had bought a second visor which was a tinted one and changing the visor is quite simple and easy. Just try for perfect fit before you buy.
Well i am not necessarily saying that MT helmet is not good, its just that i have not experienced this one.

Hi,Originally posted by Aniruddha Shinde View PostI am using MT Revenge replica GP from last one year and almost 13k kms. No issues so far, I am using iridium visor with this. Changing of visor is breeze, If you find right size, the weight of helmet is almost vanished from your head. It does whistle after 90kmph but not that annoying, ear buds will solve that problem. When I bought it comes with ratchet lock not double d rings. (Mine was from first batch of MT when it is introduced). By graphics it sure is eye candy and I think it is best looking helmet in that price range. (Of course When SOL Unicorn and SOL Metal man are not in picture, they looks just amazing). SOL helmets are famous for being heavy, but it comes with double d rings.
Go ahead and buy revenge if you liked it, I can vouch for it. It has DOT, ECE and Sharp 5star ratings.

Aniruddha
The guy at Moto 101 told me its not MT Revenge helmet but Mt Axxis with GP edition graphics. So do you still suggest me to buy the MT Axxis GP edition or should I go with MT blade (only thing going against blade is matte finish which I personally do not like much).

Dinesh515 Welcome to Xbhp brother. Please take some time understanding the forum... From a genuine LS2 studio image, no one can make out whether your particular helmet is original or fake, because we never saw it.
I suggest you try to examine the product itself for spelling mistakes, missing stuff, etc. or post a picture of your helmet itself.

Guys, I'm considering a good helmet myself since my Studds Shifter's visor mounting broke. Its matt finish was anyways removed within days, revealing a glossy finish. So, no more ISI for me. Namaste Indian helmets.
I have the following needs:-
1. ECE/ DOT/ SNELL, Full face only! Not even modular.
2. Dual Visors. Need UV protection on the internal or outer visor. The outer visor should be transparent & scratch resistant.
3. Need less wind/ hissing noise to ears at high speeds. Desperately so. Don't want my grandchildren calling me a deaf old man!
4. Price below Rs. 6500. Can clearly spend more if its decently justifiable.
5. Size medium (57 cms head), should be available in India, should be original. NO LS2 at all.
I have shortlisted two helmets:-
1. MT Blade, this one:- https://spartanprogear.com/collectio...hite-black-red
2. SOL SF-5, this one, in Black color though:- SOL HELMETS_PRODUCTS
I'm inclining more towards SOL, because it specifically mentions Wind noise protection in specs.
Anyone has a better suggestion at this price? Or any suggestion at all?---

I have both MT Blade and SOL. I will recommend u pick MT Blade with your eyes closed. Build quality and padding quality is way better than SOL. Comparing next to each other I always find my SOL looks cheaper than my MT.Originally posted by Samarth 619 View PostDinesh515's topic Approved and Merged here.

Re: Helmets
Has anyone of you used lazer helmets? I use a bayano z line helmet. It weighs about 1.550 kg. Sine all were talking about decent priced helmets, i thought yall must look into imports as well. Im a happy user of this helmet for almost a year now. The helmet fits nice, and the padding is awesome. But, one concern i have is the wind noise in higher speeds... More than 80 kmph, there is this awful whistling sound. Esp if you are travelling on open highways. Else, its a beautiful helmet. Does anyone know of other helmet that doesnt have this issue?

Re: Helmets
Need a little help guys. I bought a LS2 F352-1 about 4 months ago and regretting the purchase.
1. The chin strap choke me no matter how much I loosen it.
2. Ventilation is next to putting your head in a box and sealing it off.
Planning of selling it and buying something better. Any suggestions on what to buy? I like MT but people have told that the stitching quality is very bad.

Re: Helmets confusion
Well, I think Spartan Progear have stopped importing Revenge helmets, My helmet is from first stock of MT. Mt Axxis is good helmet my friend is using it and he is quite happy, if it comes with Double D ring securing system then it is great, go for it.Originally posted by vinay21987 View Post

Same happens with me I did not liked Blade helmet that time it was only available in White and Blue combination, I was inclined towards it because it had a internal sun visor and I used to wear glasses that time. But my size was not available there so I went for Revenge and after one and half year it is working like charm. I got mine from Moto 101 Mumbai.

Re: Helmets
SOL has more ventilation ports as compared to MT Blade hence more wind noise. Also SOL is slightly heavier. Otherwise both are comparable.Originally posted by Samarth 619 View Post

Re: Helmets
Guys, sadly, I have paid for SOL SF5 already. Its going to come in 3-4 days. The discussion here confused me.
Thanks. I agree, but I can live with slightly bad build quality and padding both. I have lived with ISI's all my life... Any helmet is better than them.Originally posted by riot View PostI have both MT Blade and SOL. I will recommend u pick MT Blade with your eyes closed. My point was, in terms of my priorities (wind/ UV/ Medium size availability), how do you rate them. MT Blade is hardly available in Medium on Spartan ProGear website.
Even if its available, its in some color combination I would be embarrassed seen with.
Thanks for the reply. These ventilation ports can be closed, right? Or they can't be. Heavy doesn't matter to me much.Originally posted by paradoxx View PostSOL has more ventilation ports as compared to MT Blade hence more wind noise. Also SOL is slightly heavier. Otherwise both are comparable.

You can check at a store, they usually stock sizes. I myself have a medium size.Originally posted by Samarth 619 View PostGuys, sadly, I have paid for SOL SF5 already. Its going to come in 3-4 days. The discussion here confused me.

Otherwise also in medium and large there outer shell size is the same, only the padding is different.
About the ventilation ports, you can close the inlets, exhausts will always be open. I haven't used the Sol personally but going by general science, I guess even after closing the ports some air will do get in and create some noise.
Since, Blade has only 3 inlets, the noise is alright till 150 kph with vents closed (except the mouth vent which I always keep open).

Re: Helmets
Going for THH TS-41Originally posted by hgps View PostI am looking forward to buy a new helmet for weekend long rides. Due to size issues, i can't buy a helmet online, I visited a few helmet/riding gear shops and shortlisted these 3 options:
1. THH helmet (can't recall model name) @ 3300/-
loved: Feels really good, value for money
hated: overdone graphics, lack of trust in this brand
2. kranos imola @ 5000 (available online at 4250/- shipped)
loved: looks and graphics, dual certification
hated: back side doesn't cover head that well.

image source Moto Gear Advisor - Quality Motorcycle Gear Reviews
3. Studds shifter @ under 3000
loved: availability of replacement visors (will be able to use it everyday, not just on long rides), cheap, internal visor.
hated: ISI standard.
optional:
buy vega axor online @ 2600/- (i currently use a medium size (58cm) vega trojan so i can confidently buy this online)
found MT and LS2 helmets but they were priced above my budget.
Any suggestions? There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.
