Most imported ones have removable lining. I think Indian ones don't come with removable lining because of cost reasons. Any additional features increases the cost of the product.Originally posted by RiderRaj View Postnever mess with the paint on a helmet, the helmet paint is carefully selected by manufacturer so as not to react with the polycarbonate material of the helmet. Anything else will spoil and make the helmet weak, the damage paint did to the helmet will not be visible until you crash.
no chemical cleaners should be used, same reason as above , most of them reacts in some way making it weaker.
Did you know UV makes helmet weaker ? so if its dull you better change the helmet.
if you can get the original padding from the manufacturer you can do it. Most foreign brands sell the lining separately, Studds and indian brands dont,
and dont even think about changing the white EPS.
buy a new helmet instead.
if you cant buy, use the old ugly one, no one would bother about your shattered weak helmet with an awesome paint job if it could not save the head.
Our harsh Indian sun weakens the shell of helmets over time. The shell protect our heads. And the EPS inside helps in dulling the shock from the impact being transferred to our head. There are helmet repairing shops in some places. But I think its good for minor repairs. If there are any major damages, its always better to buy a new one.
I have been using Fomula1 wax for keeping the glossy shine on my LS2. Covers minor scratches and helps maintain the glossiness. Looks almost new.

I agree with RohIITOriginally posted by Saurabh213 View PostPlanning to buy a new helmet soon.
please help me decide between :
1.studds shifter
Heard many good words for this one.
2.vega axor
3.vega off road helmet
Don't know whether it is even recommend for on road use or not.
Or any similar in this price range.
I have a vega offroad helmet and i would not recommend it to anyone for on road use. Although it offer unmatched ventilation, tinted visor and sun shield help a lot in bright sunny days but I don't know if it will withstand any impact on the chin part (chin protector is very thin). I own 2 vega helmets and strap bracket of both helmets started rusting within a month and Graphics started to peel off after 10 months.
PS: Ordered kranos hornet today. There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.

Re: Helmets
Are Double D rings really that much safer than micro metric ones? Double D rings look really simple though. On an unfortunate event of a crash won't the Double D rings come loose? (Marco Simoncelli's helmet cartwheeling on the tarmac flashes in my mind
) After securing the Double D's, should the extra length of the strap be buttoned onto side provided? or should it be pulled onto the opposite side tightly and tucked under the helmet liner. I do the later method, cause it feels more tight on the straps.

Re: Helmets
Nope it doesn't have one. But a smoked visor can be switched to the clear one though. I've asked many shopkeepers at several shops from Coimbatore which sells MT helmets to swap out the stock clear visor to the smoked ones and all of them refused. And one shopkeeper guy added that these visors are actually sold like an upgrade part to the helmet and need to bought separately. And sorry I won't be abled to post pictures of it now, as I don't have a good camera, but will post pictures of it very soon. Apart from the chin curtain issue, This helmet is actually a gem.Originally posted by Chandan92 View PostDoes it have internal sun visor? Please share some pics if possible.

I had the same confusion a few days ago too! I believe that there are no fresh stocks of Sparx are arriving (But I could be wrong though) but AFAI "Researched" there are no fresh stocks arriving now. (Source: A friend of mine owns a gear shop and he dealt with Sparx helmets) And even if they are old, I don't think those(Sparx) will be too old to be dangerous, Cause fresh stocks of Sparx were arriving at his shop just less than a year ago.Originally posted by Touseef Ahmed Mohammed View PostHello people.

Re: Helmets
Oh is it? That is a good news.
I searched for sparx, then searched for it, did not get it.
Then bought an SOL Metalman.
I checked on eBay.com, kind of shocked to see that the price range of sparx helmets has gone to 9k
Those which were available for maximum of 5.5k to 6k two years back i remember. And now for 9k

Re: Helmets
The news designs are in fact displayed on spartanprogear.com, And furthermore, I was looking to buy the MT Axxis Geo 3 in black and white but there were no stocks of it(Both online and in shops). I was interested in Black and white helmets so I mailed Spartan Pro gear and enquired , whether will the Geo 3 black and white be back on stock soon. And they replied that those helmets won't be back on stock but fresh set of graphics for the MT range of helmets are being designed and once all the current stock of helmets are cleared up, they will release the helmets in new graphics and I may find a black and white variant among those. Just some extra information, in case if you are looking for some more graphics options.Originally posted by philip.gunner View PostAre the new designs displayed on spartanprogear.com?
