  • Guys need a help from you. I am feeling cheated by the A.M.Helmets where i got my new Cross helmet from. The small flaps for air ventilation have come out loose and so did the other one. Also the layer over the padding inside the lid seems to be coming off. When took the lid back to the shop i was given jazz that there is no warranty or guarantee that comes with a lid. I argued over the fact that they had sold me a defective product. They told me to leave the lid with them for a week so that they can show it to the company but nothing happened. I also told them that i am ready to pay a little more and buy a better helmet from them but these @$$holes did not let me do that. what do i do?

Did you ask for warranty/guarantee with the purchase of the helmet? If you did not then it is a problem as they have already done what they do best....cheat customers with cheap/fake products. I had a case where a dealer had charged me 2K extra for a helmet. Then I had went back to the shop and blasted them saying why cheat people when you are making so much money anyways and bla bla. They had apologised and gave me back 2K. At that moment, I had the bill and warranty which they had asked me to show. How much did you pay for the Cross...and it would be good if you could post some pics.

          • @All: I have decided to dispose my Vega Boolean after several bouts of headache with it. I have a half face Studds, which I'm using for short distances with my Fiero F2. I have ordered for the high end Vega helmet which I intend to use for touring. I now need a light weight, well padded plain black helmet for daily use with my R15. Please give me your suggestions&feedback on the following full face helmets.
            1. Studds Rhyno-color does not seem to match with bike (bike is black)
            2. GP One 202 Plain/Flat-someone was saying he got a heavy closeout discount. Are they shutting down? I also heard that the visors are bad.
            3. Studds Bravo
            4. Any others fitting above criteria.

Hey Pranay i paid Rs: 1750/- for the cross. No i did not ask for a warranty or guarantee. No such thing mentioned on the helmet also. This sucks man. There are some pics of the helmet on 125. Will post the pics of the lid wid all the defects once i reach home.

i dont know whther steelbird themselves are giiving discounts or its just the dealers....i got my GPone star 202 helmet from Big Bazar,Mangalore...where they were clearing stock so they gave the heavy discount....Big Bazar themselves dont get the helmets from the company..they get it from some dalal who sells it via them...even in the bill, the name of the product is not mentioned.....but nonetheless the helmet is very very good....extremely good padding also....you can take a look at Steelbird Hi-Tech India Ltd.(SBHT)- Helmets
You can take the ride away from me but you cannot take the rider out of my soul.........

Thanks for the feedback on GP One helmets. It seems, GP One comes under the brand name Torx now, all old stocks are being cleared. Also, big complaint is about the visors not being anti-scratch/glare. Also, helmet is supposedly heavy. I think more or less ruled out. I will think of Studds next!

Well, when it comes to helmet then no compromise brother. Go for what you want, you could try to sell off that helmet to a friend or something.

                        Hey Sarvajit,

Torx helmets have been around for quite a while, I remember the guy in Overdrive who used to test bikes - Vikram (not sure) used to have one & OD used to give them for the winner of the best letter of the month earlier. Yes, the visor is slightly prone to scratches & it is slightly heavy compared to the others.

But the helmet is really good. The padding & comfort of the helmet is much better than all the others available in the 2k+ range (havent seen the new imported Vega ones). Ive been using mine for 2 1/2 years now & am extremely happy with it. So why dont you un-rule out GP One ?

                          Thanks Neil,
I think you are also using GP One 202 Star if I'm not wrong? How much did you buy it for? The site says Rs.2058 for Flat&Rs.1891 for Plain model. I am interested in a plain glossy black GP One 202 model. I'm going to check out a place where they have GP One. I even wrote a mail to Steelbird. They say GP Ones are as regular as any other. I will still go&check them out.
                          My glitches are:
                          1. Slightly heavyweight
                          2. No anti-scratch visor.

                          • ^^ I purchased GP One 202 plain (Black color) in Jan for 1546 Rs. The fit is ok but visor quality is poor(cost of visor is 150) , it gets scratched very easily.

                            • Sarvajit, if you are getting the Vega, go with Studds Bravo. Plain Black one would come for Rs 850 and is very good. Make sure you get one that fits you properly... that's it.

Only complaint about GPOne is the Visor.. this is unforgiving for such a good helmet. If you've got to know about a place where you can get GPOne stock, pls let me know... Neet to buy a Visor.

Look for Daijyas..if available in Mumbai..!!

We had some comparisons between KBC, Daijya, Sparx, Cross...!! And found the padding, shell to be hard and good in case of Daijya..
