Well for beginners SMK maybe good but if i have the budget i would rather go for a better helmet even if it is a few gm's heavier, because now i have learnt that to get used to the 'heavy' helmets is by doing neck exercises.

SMK HELMETS are the best bet after MT. SMK are absolute value for money than when compared to MT. Both MT and SMK are dual certified. Where SMK gets the upper edge is the weight and the PINLOCK included for free. MT is heavier when compared to SMK.

What is a pain with both MT and SMK are the wind noise, MT is a train whistle post 75+ and so is SMK. Secondly, size runs a little bigger on SMK even though the sizing guide looks same for all their range, some are shockingly tight and loose for the same size, due to shell design, so it's recommended to try SMK in person for the right fit.

AXOR, the new kid on the block too have similar features as the above ones, but they are heavier. With good graphics, AXOR seems to have doing good. But the brands to stay away are THH and LS2.

But, I for one would recommend SMK for good build, PINLOCK, lightweight and VFM proposition.

Have you checked the Studds Shifter series? It's heavy and rock as a Snell helmet. Do not go for the Steelbird Air series. They are junks.

Hi i went for the FlyRacing Revolt F-S which is a Snell Certified helmet, got it for 140$ which is less than 10k but it costs 13500/- in India i have posted a short first impression on Tbhp.

Have been using MT, SMK and Shiro. I'd pick Shiro for city usage (superlight) and SMK elsewhere. Double D ring and the convenience of it is what I miss on SMK, but okay, I am fine with it.

The buckle clasp helmets are best suited for local commutes, at least when it comes to practically terms. DDs are best suited for touring and highway sprints.

I am all for retro looks and have bought a Bell Classic helmet recently. Although not a full face unit, the helmet is built like a tank and very comfy for regular riding.

At 1.2 kilograms, it is a bit heavier than my Studds helmet, but the looks of it are a killer. I especially love the coloured stripes on the Bell's white surface.

The price of course is a little high but I bought the helmet from a bike accessory shop in Chhatarpur and they assured me of proper warranty and after sales support. Anyways, it's not every day you buy a helmet, eh?

Both THH and LS2 have been lazy in India compared to other helmet brands. That I agree. But anything specifically wrong with the quality of their lids - especially in the price range they sell? I recently found out my THH TS-41 is a Snell 2010 certified helmet. I'm going to upgrade from it anyway soon (it's old now at almost 5 years old). But not all their shells are such IMO - specifically talking about the TS-41.

THH from my personal experience, don't feel they're built to last, on an apples to apples basis. They have a lot to improve in the padding quality, overall fit and finish leaves a lot to be desired, especially the visor mechanism.

LS2, apart from having great shell designs, are bulky and knockoffs easily available, it's hard to know which is genuine from a fake, which again is a needless risk unless actually seeing it in person. I definitely don't trust e-commerce sites when it comes to LS2.

But that's just my view on how I see things.

Been using an LS2 helmet since 2017. Looking to change in a year or so.(or even earlier if I can save up)
Looking for a full face helmet which has an internal sun visor that can be opened from the outside, has speaker pockets and is safe.(DOT/ECE certified).
I usually ride at speeds of 90 KMPH so wind noise is also a factor.
Removable inner lining is a definite in this range(Isn't it?)
Budget - 4000-7000 INR (I'm a college student and I save up for my gear, so the limited budget)

The current model of LS2 I'm using is FF320 which is a really good model but I have size fit issues with it and wind noise is horrible even with the chin curtain.
Doesn't always pain when I use it but at certain times, after riding for an hour or so, there is a lot of pressure on the side of my head near the ear because it presses on the frame of my glasses, at times even the tip of the ear pains. This prohibits using the bluetooth module I have now, since it only increases the pressure on the side of my head.
Got it from Rainbow in Chennai for 5.2K. The sales guy told me the pressure would be like that and would eventually subside(Never did). Hopefully, it isn't a fake LS2 (Never knew they existed until I became active on this forum).

There is no such thing as a silent helmet , only some are more noisy some are less. Even high end helmets have wind noise. You need to use earplugs try the 3m foam plugs cheap and effective. And make sure the fit is perfect. I use a smk and there is noise from left side at high speed ,Mt is less noisy than smk and ls2 i have tried it.
Important this is what you have mentioned fittings or the smugness.
