I am thinking of buying a full-face helmet now. Most of the sparx s07 models are available on closeouts on various US sites. Although I have a friend coming from US this week I cant ask him to get the helmet (as he is already getting my riding jacket and other gear ). So i was thinking of getting it shipped to india through iccworld or shopyourworld.
Shopyourworld quotes Rs 3165(after 5% discount) including shipping for sparx s07 lightning. This excludes customs duty as it will be sent as a duty free gift. Even if custom duty is charged which would be 904 rs the total comes to Rs 4069 which is a lot less than what indian dealers are charging for it. I am waiting for a quote from iccworld.
What do you think guys think? Is it a good deal? Rs 3200 is what LS2 helmets cost in Bangalore here. How better/worse is this helmet when compared to LS2( I have tried a few LS2 helmets and they looked really sturdy but were on the heavier side)? Waiting for your feedback guys

BikeBandit is a very reliable site. Although I havn't purchased anything from it until now but others on this forum have.
This is an entry level Sparx which retails at around $110-$140. Its only in India that is it exorbitantly priced.

The sparx lightning is a mouthwatering deal for that price. I paid 4300 for a sparx torino about 8-9 months earlier and can assure you that it's an awesome lid. I'd say that if you can get it to India via a friend/relative then only is it a good deal as 1600 for helmet + 3600 for shipping + 900 customs = 6100 which is a lot for a helmet that can be found IN INDIA for 4500-5500.

Although I've never had to get anything cleared off from customs, I do assume that like everything else in this country, you'll have to pay some chai-pani expenses so add that cost to the already high-ish price of 6100.

Add to that, the US sizing and us Indian people aren't so easily compatible, so you might end up spending 6-7k on a lid and still not get an apt size.

BikeBandit is charging too much for international shipping. ShopMyworld is quoting a price of around 3200 (excluding customs) to ship at your doorstep which is a good deal I think. Can you tell me where can I get Sparx at 4.5-5.5k in India? At that price I would prefer to buy it in India.

Also I dont think Sparx produces different helmets for US and India. So the sizing should run similar. You can check out the size that fits you at an Indian dealer and then order online.

Damn. Every time I see this I end up kicking myself. I spent 8.5k for my Hornet Special Edition.

It is very reliable. And SparX lid's are VFM for this price. I love the fit and feel of this helmet. Very good quality in terms of finish and padding. Recommended !!!

They also have a best price guarantee. If you see the same product for a lower price anywhere else, send them the details. Once they approve it (which is within the hour), you can buy it from them for the lower price.

Tibby wanted to buy the Sidi Vertigo Rain boots and it was listed as 325 USD on BikeBandit. Extremesupply was charging 275 USD for the same boots (same size).

SparX helmets across US and India carry the same sizing. There are a few select SparX lid that are sold for 5.5k at Orion Yamaha, Bangalore.
