Your helmet images looks same as mine :-)Originally posted by pranay View PostAre you sure, cause I bought it from the same place and they said GPR comes in two variants. One with a stronger fibre shell outside like the Daijya helmets and lighter and the other one is normal. You might have the normal one.
I still have the bill, and if I have been taken for a ride, then I got to give it back pronto

The one I am using is the one recommended by the dealer and when I come back after work it offers satisfactory visibility. But, of course, it is not as good as transparent one at night. Rainbow/silver/tinted visors will always offer less visibility than transparent ones.Originally posted by abrar View Postwhich is the best visor for both day and night use??
Yes, even I saw two helmets of the same type. Small differences in interior design. The weight was lighter in this one. And that was the explanation given to me by him.Originally posted by Velocity View PostYour helmet images looks same as mine :-)

Daijya Silver Matt Tiger Helmet (see attachment)
despite the daijya controversy, i do think the helmet is GOOD and will have good protection ability
+ves
-Sturdy, and is hard, dropped it 3-4 times down the stairs
no damage except some scratches to the visor
-Inner padding is excellent, snugly fits to the head and cheeks. easily removable and washable.
-Finish is good, the artwork hasn't peeled off or faded at all. excellent artwork too btw.
-Air vents do function well, feels ventilated and you dont feel that burdened
-ves
- heavy, but im okay with it.
- inner padding though easy to remove, but is hard to put back (the top padding)
- visor removal and installation method is clumsy, would have preferred a screw type system. and if you break the visor clip (by which it hangs on to the helmet) you're gone, and need to buy a new visor.
-Visor is good, but is scratch prone. must handle with care.
this is a 3 month report, will post further details if any
cheers

So I went down to a Helmet dealer nearby, and checkout the range from Cross (that was only brand he had), and I saw this very helmet, exactly same thing (except the brand) in Cross Helmets, cost Rs.3000. And the dealer claimed that GPR is a 'faltu' brand and Cross is the original one (the normal selling tactics
.. nobody believes them). That Cross helmet is DOT certified as the dealer claimed.
This is the same helmet (Cross brand) worn by Bobbykick way back in June-Aug08 (as far as I know)

It's much lighter than my HJC and graphics look even better in person.
I loved the graphics too...they come with Arai comfort and qualityOriginally posted by Aryan View Post@Samy: Whoa! What jazzy graphics, but then again you have a machine to gel completely with such a lid..
Loved the graphics.

I already have a shoei and a hjc...I bought this to carry it with me when I get back to India. You will see it on a pulsar soon.

I do not think so because the other variant looks like cheap local made.. I visit Balaji Helmets atleast once in two months to buy a new visor for myself. Also sometimes i visit with my friends. Those guys are big marketing buffs they will easily cheat everyone by selling at more price. I have seen & worn Daijya helmet of Asif. Daijya helmets are far better than GPR helmets in quality. Please go back to them saying that the price of that helmet is just Rs. 3100 & get the refund..Originally posted by pranay View PostThe one I am using is the one recommended by the dealer and when I come back after work it offers satisfactory visibility. Now, I am getting the feeling as I see the photos by chetan that I have been sucker-punched down underOriginally posted by chetanpulsar View PostThe moment I saw this pic.... . Even I have seen Asif's helmet, in fact, I even asked him during the Back from the Dead G2G about his lid, he told its Daijya and its after that I started searching in the internet extensively for Daijya.
DSG doesn't have stock now, so I went to Balaji Helmets, from where I had also bought my previous lid. They had Daijya, nice looking lids, but nothing in base silver like I wanted. So they showed me two exact pieces of GPR, which (according to their claim) are different in helmet shell quality. But they looked exactly same. The one I bought felt lighter and of better padding/overall quality, so I bought this one.
Thank you, chetanpulsar and Velocity for clearing it out. I don't mind paying 5 grand for a good lid, but if it is not worth that much, then I see no sense.I will immediately visit Balaji helmets to sort this out. If it weren't for you guys, I'd be looking like an A$$. Telling everyone this lid cost 5k where its worth 3k...
