i dont think everyone who bought the Octane had velcro stitched? It may be a manufacturing defect but he should had taken care of it. One of my friend has similar experience and his Jacket too happens to be 'Made in China' one as mine which makes my opinion. I dont blame anyone but will avoid the brand if its not clarified.

I know that explaination Akshay. But i believe otherwise because i felt the quality is just not what i had seen, expected and read about. Threads and stitches coming out of a brand new jacket. A button that just comes off from its base without doing anything on just the first use. And Mr.Zulfi is very bad at post sales relation. What he offers me is an idea to get velcro stitch in place of buttonsOriginally posted by akshayhonda View Post

this is not true. though its correct that prices of bachoo motors are not very flexible, still, you need to bargain hard and be persistant.Originally posted by MeTaL_MaNiaC View PostBachoo motors never provide a single rupee discount over the price listed on their website.
bachoo motors does give discounts, but you have to bargain hard. although the discount may not be too big, but its possible.
this is not true, totally false.Originally posted by MeTaL_MaNiaC View PostAnd Mr.Zulfi is very bad at post sales relation.
i had purchased a lot of items from bachoo motors, boots, gloves, rainwear etc. and unfortunately i had problems with rainwear and he not only replaced it free of cost but also couriered it to my place (no courier charges) and he said that i can keep the defective item with me or return whenever i go to mumbai (which i have not been able to do since last year) ...since he will not return the defective item to australia or whatever place it came from since sending it back will cost him more money. instead he e-mailed the company some pics i had provided him of defective item and he even shared with me the company's reply.

Assuming that the torn part of jacket is made of Cordura material, Is it available in Local Retail markets?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostUsually, the manufacturer is not held responsible, unless it's a manufacturing defect, from their side. That's one.
Now, since you've scrapped your jacket, I don't think the manufacturer themselves would replace the torn/scrapped part, even if you pay him some money to do that. All he'd insist you is to buy a new one.
That being said, you always have locals wallas
. First inspect how the elbow armor is, if it has taken some serious hit and ripped apart, apart from the jacket shell, then you better change your jacket. If the armor is intact, just do some patch work, no other choice. I even suspect tailors patch working for such jackets because it's really hard to do anything on jackets other than machine stitching, but do give it a try.
I know many buddies who wear a worn DSG jacket for miles and miles and still going strong. Wearing torn jacket is kinda cool you know, if you ask me
Orion is maybe sourcing from Bachoo Motors themselves, maybe that could be one or they're sourcing directly from AU. All said, we are being looted big time in RJays products and that's for sure.

I guess you will, yes but, you'll have to search for it really hard. Because the same grade of material used won't be available. Even stitching it with a cobbler/tailor won't be that good of a machine finish and moreover they won't be able to match the machine fit and finish. I'd suggest leave it like that.Originally posted by ASSASSIN07 View PostAssuming that the torn part of jacket is made of Cordura material, Is it available in Local Retail markets?
You can always patch work if you feel bad about the jacket.
Exaclty, Akshay said it crisp and clear.Originally posted by akshayhonda View PostMy dear friend the tag 'Made in China' does not mean the products are of lower quality. All brands like Alpinestars, JoeRocket, Shoei, HJC etc etc have 'Made in China' on them.
As far as the drop in pricing of RJays Jackets from Bachoo Motors is concerns it is because Mr Zulfi is passing all the import duty benefits he is getting & also the benefit of lowered cost when ordered in bulk as Indian bikers have very well accepted RJays jackets as they are mesh & very apt for Indian riding conditions. Specially RJays Swift & Octane are the HOT sellers
Not to ***** about, but Rjays are a gamble, sometimes it's of good quality and sometimes it's not. That doesn't mean RJays is bad/crap. It's a cheap and fits the bill well for budget conscious people. But still at 7k it's not cheap. Remember people reduce prices for a product that doesn't sell at a huge chunks. People never reduce prices for a product which sells really well. That is the case with Bachoo Motors, they have vast range of products, so price reduction in one product, gets offset in another one. The math is simple, yet it looks complicated. But people make very good profit out of this business, if you ask me.Originally posted by MeTaL_MaNiaC View PostHow can Orion offer lesser price than Bachoo Motors if the source it from them? Bachoo motors never provide a single rupee discount over the price listed on their website.
Why i even nit-pick this is because Now-a-days the Rjays from Bachoo motors are 'Made in China' one's instead of Made in Pakistan as earlier and I am not very satisfied with the quality of my Octane Jacket. Plus discounts on entire range makes me wonder.
That's a good question. To answer your question in simple way, there are two kind of bikers; a true biker and then there are dumb@$$ bikers. It depends on which one would prefer heat over gear.Originally posted by lovish View PostJust onw question... how do you people wear these gears in 45 degree celcious temprature of India

I've known some people who've had many issues with RJays products. Yes it's good and I am not here to say expensive brands are fool proof too. But not to the extent of RJays. I myself own many RJays products, I feel way comfortable in them than other expensive brands I own.Originally posted by MeTaL_MaNiaC View PostGamble!! With protective gear?? Is it Justified. I've known many people who've used the same jackets as I use, loose stitching, uneven stitching, too many excess threads left without cutting. All this means improper quality control (mass production errors). Check out how an A* looks with same textile one, though the materials used are of the same, it's the finish that is where RJays needs to improve a bit.
That's what is my summation on RJays products.

hi guys, just tested these gears that i bought:
1) DSG aqua gloves (i am not sure about the old ones, i got one around a week back from orion motors)....kept the gloves under the tap for 10 mins and then in the bucket, my hands were fully dry....i think it should be good for rains (the end should go under the jacket i think for full water protection).
2) Rjays sprint shoes--kept it under the tap for 10 mins and then submerged it into the bucket...my feet were fully dry......i think this is good enough to test a gear
....
let me know if you guys have something more to share......

Good to know that your AQUA gloves handled the "tappy" situation very well. RJays Sprint boots are really good, I myself was planning to buy one, but then went for a full ankle boot.
Ultimately if you're happy with your purchase that's what matters.
Cheers!

Hey guys, visited S.M. Studios (Mulund, Mumbai),
The owner had his personal RJays Swift jacket hanging on the wall, he said that the jacket has been good but off-late (after a year), the guards (elbow and shoulder) have become softer and I myself felt them....doesn't give much confidence. Anyone with RJays facing the same issue with their jackets after a year or so......?
Another query, how good is DSG trition compared to DSG maize jackets as far as safety is concerned....i was quoted 6K for both of them.
What to go for
RJays Swift - doesn't inspire much confidence as far as long term view is considered.
DSG trition - I will sweat like hell in Mumbai climate..
DSG maize - It has leather components to it.....leather needs to be taken care of, and i am a bit lazy for that...
Your suggestions...

Let me make it more clear for you. You already made it clear in your tabulation.
RJays Swift, being an a mesh jacket, it should serve its purpose well. Never heard for softening of the elbows. They are foam based elbow protectors than the plastic ones offered in leather SUITS. Yes it's flexible, not too soggy, in that case the armor might have been not removed during washing et cetera.
DSG Maize, know a lot of my buddies who use them, pretty good bang for the buck. There are a lot of ways you can take care of the leather part, if that is the only thing you're concerned, just type leather care in Google, you have lots of easy tips. That shouldn't be a big problem, if you ask me
Triton is best only when you are live in "wintery" type situations, more over it's kinda too lengthy, which is best suited for Leh type situations, but not for regular use.
To sum it up, go for DSG which is cheap and best, else Rjays Swift, both should serve its purpose well.
Cheers!

How much can one expect to pay for the Rjays swift now that is in discount here in Mumbai? Bachho motors only or are there other places they can be looked for?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostDid you mean DSG MAZE?

Is there any review available for jackets marketed by Spartan Pro Gear, the same company which imports SOL helmets to India? AH helmets had few on display. Don't remember the brand names though. Were starting from Rs 6500. Looked pretty well made to my untrained eye. Don't know how do they fair against the competition.
@Sunnyside_up! : any info? Are these imported from Gmax USA too like the helmets? or may be some other brands? THe SOL website has a 'jackets' tab but is unclickable at the moment. The hero always RIDES into the sunset!
