Spartan helios is the best jacket under 7000 but the problem is that it's not a all season jacket .

Go with one of the DSG over Cramster anyday, IMO.

DSG Nylon/600 Denier Cordura Fabric Nero Jacket (Black): Amazon.in: Car & Motorbike

I know you want to try and buy. Order from Amazon.in. They are "amazon fulfilled" as you can see the sticker on the product page.
So get it, try it at home. If it does not fit just click on the return button and let them be picked up. Order another size and try again. Amazon fulfilled products have no issues with returns.

Nero will get you through all 4 seasons if you are good with sweating in summer. They are protective but hefty. They look very subtle. The pockets are big and nice and can carry quite a few things in them. Comes with a thermal liner as well.

I've been using Helios for a little over 47000 Km & here's what I got to share...
All season jacket = Mesh Jacket + rain liner + warm liner (quilt); the quilt just protects the warmth of the body that's all & one has an option to buy it separately as well. Helios comes with rain liner & is a mesh jacket thus making it possible to use in Summer & Monsoon; for Winter, the rain liner itself blocks the cold air (I'm talking South of India, not the North where a warm liner is MUST)

Point is that, if in South, Helios is more than sufficient to cover "all season"

I'm planning to buy a riding jacket for myself.
Currently I live in Guwahati. There are only two shops that have riding gears thus I've limited options to chose from. I want to try it on before purchasing. The requirement and budget is as per below.

Usage: mostly in city ride. 2weekend trips in a month involving no more than 500kms a day.

The jacket should be such that it can be used in all season, be it summer rains or cold.

It should've good protection ( I don't have much of knowledge about protection and ratings but I've heard that CE rated jackets are good)

It should be durable and should not look very flashy neither should be too old school types, I don't want to show off to anyone but it's just to protect myself.

Here in Guwahati, only cramster and DSG products are available. I'm a bit skeptical about ordering online because of fit.

              I'm 24years, 5'10" slim build. I ride a Yamaha fzv2 red.

              My budget is below 7k.

Your help in choosing right jacket for me would be much appreciated.

              Thanks.

Well helios is not waterproof jacket with the rain liner it will hold for sometime but since it's a mesh jacket water will enter slowly and it's more suitable for the warm climate .

Wear any jacket in the world, but a good 20-30 min downpour would mean you're soaked to your bones. Even Iron Man's suit won't protect anyone!

Nope. Whole day in rain without getting wet?
Half an hour in heavy rains and 45 odd min in moderate rain is enough.

sir, even if you wear BMWs Goretex one piece rain suit, nothing can protect from the wrath of nature. Only thing is the permutation based upon speed of ride + intensity of rain + quality of rain wear. But for sure, mesh + rain liner INFERIOR to two piece rain suit INFERIOR to single piece rain suit INFERIOR

                            Excerpt from Motohive...
The first point I would make is that if you want to travel from point A to point B and always stay completely dry, you should buy a car.

If you ride a bike in the pouring rain for long enough or hard enough, you will eventually get wet….whatever expensive raingear you wear.

Water runs off your helmet and down your neck. It will be thrown up from the road and up your jacket. It will hit your gloves and enter the sleeve. Or rise up your boot to your leg. It will find its way through zips and pockets.

If the pressure of water is strong enough, and the duration of the ride is long enough, there is no garment out there that can guarantee to keep you totally dry.

Riding a bike and staying completely dry in heavy rains - simply not possible no matter how good rainproof liner your jacket/pant or suit has. If you want to stay dry completely even in the harshest of rains, buy a scuba diving suit and wear it below your riding gears. That's maybe the only thing that can keep you dry.
