Compare prices before buying.
Though I have no experience/views on the gloves you mentioned above, I just wanted to mention that ordering from US/EU will be a lot expensive as it has to be shipped internationally plus customs may trouble you with the shipment. Best bet would be to ask somebody coming down from these places and hand carry them.

Always try on the gloves before you can buy em. And buying online can be a very tricky thing. I had tried on the Go pro gloves in my size before and hence ordered it online. If you can better visit DSG and try on a few pairs before deciding based on which glove fits the best.

My pick would be the SP8 gloves.
Did you find astar sizing one step smaller than your usual fit?
And again thanks for the info. GP pros are top of the line stuff==Track day!
    Cheers

      Hi Angad,

If it's only for citi riding you can check out TBG Fbreed, it's designed for citi rides, it's waterproof. Costs 5.5k. I use it for daily commute.

It's made and sold by Let's Gear Up, Bangalore. You can find their facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/letsgearup.in

It is sold exclusively by them (from their store, and online). So you cannot try it out, unless a friend has them. But message them on their facebook page, and they will help you with the sizing. The jacket is not in stock as of 18 Nov 2015, 2000hrs (I inquired ). Check out their page from time to time to know when it is in stock.

Disclaimer: I am not associated with the Let's Gear Up store, or the Track Breed Gear brand (other than being a prospective customer).

If you finally try it out do update about the fit and finish. Tell us about your height weight and t shirt size of may be one specific brand and the jacket size that fit you best. Thanks in advance.

              Will do!

I am a little over 6 feet tall, and of average build. A 42cm shirt fits me perfectly, with no slack whatsoever. The Let's Gear Up guys said I should go for a size XL ADV Breed jacket. My palm measures 22.5 to 23 cms around the knuckle area. I was told the TBG Street gloves of size L would be good. I think that should give a fair idea of the sizing. I don't have any idea about how it will fit me / feel though. I guess I can find that out only after buying the gear and getting it delivered. God help me if it doesn't fit then.

Meanwhile, you can check out this review, here on xBhp: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...es-review.html

Yes I have checked this review. Looks impressive. It also has an external shoulder slider which is generally seen in 21k+ jackets. That's a nice touch. Level 2 armour is another feather in the cap. But then I am thinking that how is the price so low?
Lev 2 back armour alone is approx 2700 (Direct $ conversion: in India it will be costlier) (Ref: http://www.sbkstore.in/riding-gear/p...protector.html) and then you have two shoulder and two arms which lets hope is another 3-4 k all together ( Over optimistic). That being the case the armor alone costs approx 6-7 k!
What is the rest of the jacket made up of then? What is their profit margin? I am a bit confused really [emoji14]

I have also narrowed down my search to a few Riding jackets. Some of them are mesh, but the bold ones are textile jackets or at least 70-100% waterproof ones based on reviews. This might help

                    1. Alpinestars T-GP R Air Jacket (mesh Jacket) 16 k
(Only rain liner for moderate rains as claimed by Alpinestar)
                    2. Alpinestars Alux Waterproof Jacket (Textile jacket) 17.5K
(100% waterproof claimed, also contains a cold liner, typically 3.5 season riding i.e. till 0 deg C)

                    3. Spartan Hyperion (Mesh jacket) 11 k
(Only rain liner, but with perforated leather at impact areas and KNOX lev 1 armor at shoulder, arm and back)

                    4. Rynox tornado pro (Mesh jacket) 7 k
(All weather liner, KNOX lev 1 armor at shoulder and arm)
                    Not so sure about
                    5. ADVBreed Riding Jackets 7.3-8 k (based on stock and the company mood )
(It has an external rain liner so the jacket will never soak and weigh a ton. Secondly it has SAS-Tech Level 2 Armour in back, elbow and shoulder: something to look at. Downside: Only available online and in Bangalore)

                    6. Zeus all terrain jacket (Textile Jacket) 7.2k
(Sports basic lev 1 armor and is a full textile jacket, but I have seen one or two good reviews, all season riding with capacity to work in extreme cold (-20 deg C Claimed using a thermal pack) )

Not considering JoeRocket and Rev IT: Because of widespread Zipper problems faced
Scorpion and Cortech Jackets not widely available here
DSG jackets: Not so nice reviews
Zeus Zeus all terrain jacket: review says its too hot for Mumbai climate and it is not really waterproof either

I know it is a mixed bag with Alpinestars at the top. We have to consider that Alpinestars charge a lot based as brand value and EU making charges. Indian jackets will be cheaper under any condition based on making charges. Alpinestars Bio armor is at par with KNOX armour that Spartan and Rynox provide and is up-gradable too.

Hope it helps. Let me know which one you have chosen.

In production, the SAS-TEC armors are likely to cost a lot less than their retail prices (which come with a whole lot of customs duties and taxes, plus a profit margin for the retailer) due to high volume of procurement. It is also very likely that the LGU people have low profit margins, because they are a fledgling brand. Their primary focus now is probably market share, and not big bucks. They charge extra for the shipping, so that leaves some more room in the retail price of the jacket. They don't have an online store, and don't have payment platforms (like PayU or Paytm) to accept payments, which again brings their expenses down (in rent etc.). When we take these factors into account, its possible to justify that the jacket is priced fairly, and is of the expected quality

BUT, what about the costs of research, design and development of the gear? How much did they spend for branding and designing their logos etc.? When are they going to earn it back, if their prices are this low? I think it is a fair possibility that the prices will skyrocket in the near future, if the volume of sales doesn't scale according their plans. But again, there is a fair possibility that the number of sales will increase, given their products are great (so I've heard).

This is all uneducated speculation, ofcourse. But the bottomline is, if you like TBG, better get it now.
