  • Rode today in about 10 minutes of torrential rain - felt great... except for my feet that were totally wet - inspite of being encased in RJays H2O boots. Got to office, was totally dry in RJays Octane(without rain liner) along with Quechua top and pants, except for my poor feet.
Guess I could have got about 6-7 pairs of gum boots for the money that I put into these boots which are supposed to be 100 % waterproof
Used to wear the Octane with the rain liner in the beginning, but was always getting wet.
The visor release of my RJays helmet snapped off after just about 6-8 visor swaps and replacement not available. Now will have to get some jugaad done for it.

One thing is for sure.... IMHO, RJays is way too over rated

There is a good chance water may enter through the top of the boot - if your pants rode high on your leg.
Btw I had the same experience with RJays 'waterproof' gloves..it should have been called water resistant.

Are you serious, a single drop of water didn't enter the jacket without the rain liner? Man that's some jacket. I mean, I've tried it too without the liner and the the moment it even starts to drizzle the water gets in so easy with the Octane, with liner on, it gets good. Seriously baffled. Hope you wore the Quechua top over the Octane I guess

Also you mentioned "Used to wear the Octane with the rain liner in the beginning, but was always getting wet" I mean, isn't the rain liner used to protect us from rain rather than making you wet? Did you mean, you're getting wet because of your perspiration?

Regarding H2O boots, if you calf size is smaller and the boot has a wider calf coverage area, water might seep in though that making it non-waterproof. Most people here mistake and as Mithun said the jargon between water-resistant and water-proof. That said regarding overrated, I wholeheartedly agree it's 100% overrated.

        Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

My Rain pants overlap the top of the boots pretty well even while seated on the bike, so that isn't a problem. My socks were wet from the bottom up... the top of my socks were absolutely dry .
The water didn't get in because I was wearing the Quechua under the jacket instead of the Rjays liner

Yeah buddy, I read your review, but that was about four months too late
Mine are the 5800/- ones but still..... will surely be buying the gum boots now
As to rainwear, I seem to have found the right combination - Octane along with Quechua top and Quechua pants.
I also have TourMaster one piece suit for longer rides
It's just the shoes that have me foxed !!

              • Any ideas why planetdsg triton jacket prices sky rocketed.

Last time I checked it was 5999 and I emailed them to help me find and "M" size and then 2 days later price update on site!

                1. Triton vs RJays swift Anyone?

                2. Also, is it possible to find a jacket (preferably mesh) in White red combination?

                3. Anyone owning a cramster spine protector belt. Experience advise please.

                4. Anyone owns fox knee guards / (titan or raptor ?) .. experience advise please.

TourMaster? Why can't you give some review about them, sir. It'd be real nice idea to see what the frogs in some other ponds do too.

Underneath the boot? Boy-o-boy then that's 5.5k spent on a pair of useless boots. I understood that it your feet was wet from the above. God bless ya!

Check it once more, you can see DSG Triton Jacket Blue one for 5,999.00Rs and the black and red ones at 6999. I think they either misquoted it or a typo error. But do call them and cross check with them before making an online purchase, you don't wanna be jack-@$$ed

RJays Swift is a mesh and is suitable for sunny/mild winter/moderate. Triton is meant for winter use, my friends use this jacket in summer and they suffer a lot.

No idea about Cramster, though I think I read a review somewhere, Google is your best friend.

Fox Knee guards, there are tons of them out there. Cheap and best, if you ask me. Used them once, lasted for year before I changing it to a US brand.

                  Cheers!

ECE are only for helmets Doga. Almost all well known armored motorcycle jackets come with approved armor pads, which means they undergo certain standards in countries like EU and elsewhere. Go for HELIOS if you're in for summer and expect a modest rain/wind protection.

Cramster Breezer is kinda like all weather jacket, sun, wind, rain, you have two different liners based upon your need and bang for the buck too.

Hey, thanks, Chandru. That was crisp. I don't know why, but I wanted to see how the jacket is inside. Same as usual I guess. And thanks again for your pictures Chandru, really appreciate it.

And don't make any more delays in getting your bill, you might just need them when you thought the least about them.

I meant EC. Sorry for the typo. I'd like to try the breezer and the helios before deciding. IS there a DSG jacket which is kind of the jack of all weathers jacket ,the Breezer is thought to be?
Also please give me listing of price of all 3 in Mumbai if you can? I got a quote of 6300 bucks for the helios. Are there colour options available for the breezer?

+1. I tried it 2 3 times but you get wet eventually even in moderate rains. Have stopped even carrying the liner ever since.

Seems like I am lucky after buying breezer instead of swift .

One doubt, I am using cramster flux glove which is full leather. I know its not good in rains. But is it okay if the gloves get wet? . Or will it get spoilt?

Pretty much any leather glove I've worn have been bashed in the rain. But it's a wise idea to dry (a day in good sunlight) them completely before they go into cupboard. I made a mistake once of thinking the glove is wet and took it straight to the cupboards, days after when I took it out, I can see blue powderlike fungus forming all over the gloves in patches (call it the Amoeba Boys in Powerfull Girls)

Dusted it off, dried in sun and boy I realized there was more more humidity inside the glove and all started to vaporize.

Moral: Always always always dry your leather stuffs completely, I MEAN BONE DRY before replacing it in your cupboard. That said, there shouldn't be any problem using a leather glove in rain.

                                Cheers!
