Mototech(Poothole road) has a few safety gears like gloves and boots, haven't seen knee pads there. Then in swaraj round, the road which covers to KSRTC road(don't remember the road name clearly) they have a few shops selling all biking stuffs, but havent seen safety gears there, you may also just try there, bungee cords are most likely to be available there.

    Cheers

Got the bungee cords from local shops...
But dont think knee guards are available anywhere, didn't see them

Went by Mototech today to get a bottle of oil, but didn't see any knee guards, just few helmets & off roading boots.

Then your best bet is ebay i guess.

Dont know of any other shops nearby. The closest then is AQ, which you have already been to.

You won't get them immediately - but a good thing to invest in anyway.

              • Thor sector knee guard

Here are the pictures of Thor sector knee guard(adult) which i had got from ebay. Price was Rs. 2370. Please find it attached. Initially i was searching for A* reflex guard, but didn't find anywhere in Bangalore. So brought this knee guard after reading good reviews.

I have already used it for two weeks. Build quality is very good, better than Cramster's, but it is a internal knee guard, not bionic.

Straps are of good quality. Foam padding is also of good quality. Covers the knee completely and doesn't slip while riding.

Overall a good investment if you planning to wear it inside your pants.

RTFM Buddy! Unless specifically designed for rain, they're going to get damaged. Getting caught in rain is one thing - with some TLC they can be restored. Deliberately riding in the rain with them is not a good idea.

Have used these before. Though a little light weight for the purpose IMO, definitely a good buy and VFM. Congrats!

                          • I know this sounds like a pretty stupid question!
Is there any sort of knee guard available that resists the twisting of knee. I had a fall recently and twisted my knee (god knows how).

                            Thx alot.

Any good riding gear for that matter mimics motion of the body. They wouldnt restrict you from bending your knee or spine in the normal direction but resist the bending in the opposite direction and in case of a fall, dissipate the impact forces over a larger area so that the muscles and joints take the least load.

But I have not come across any knee guard or knee brace which can withstand high torsional forces(twisting force) and most of the gears supplied by A* or other leading manufacturers can withstand some minimum amount of twisting.

Hope you knee has recovered from the injury.

                              Deepak
