Guys I have bought myself an Rjays Octane at 7599Rs from Orion Motors Bangalore couple of months back.
(He gave a hefty discount of 99Rs , due to my persuasion)

Was so lazy to post my Outputs now, better late than never right ?

I don't have a pic right now to post on the Jacket, I went for the Camouflaged version.

It looks way better in real than in this Pic ( not that the pic is bad, and was not able to upload the Pic).

As posted earlier I was looking at AlpineStar TG-Plus Air at 8599 , DSG Nero and RJays Swift as well.
Let me list the Pros and minor Cons of my Jacket.
    Pros:
    • True Summer Jacket, complete mesh structure allows pretty good airflow being a Mesh jacket, (Crossed of Nero here).
    • Can feel the wind seeping in after 10 to 15 KMPH speeds.
    • 6 pockets ( even pockets are vented)
    • C.E. Approved Powertector Body Armour
    • C.E. Approved back protection ( I didn’t see this in AlpineStar)
    • Heavy Duty cordura arm panels
    • Removable 100% waterproof liner ( Failed to Notice this also in AlpineStar)
    • Looks (I know it is subjective) , I like the kind of Military look of it.
    • I should say wherever there is a protection; the quality of it is really good. ( This where I have written of RJays Swift, I liked the looks and was cheaper as well, but the protection felt like cardboard pieces, and the funny thing the shop guy was saying it is enough for City Speeds, didn’t argue with him though).

    Cons:
    • I don’t think ‘Octane’ is created as a winter jacket, it does offer good protection in 18-20C winds. It’s a summer jacket , so Can’t Complain. I wear a hoodie inside to escape from cold winds.
    • No Chest Padding, for chest protection.

    My Opinion:
For the price I spent, as Vijay mentioned in earlier in a post. I felt it’s a bang for the buck.
I would recommend it as a much vented, nice summer Jacket with adequate protection.
Nice buy there bud. There are some A* jackets which come with removable liners, but, almost most jackets do not come with CE approved back protector including the RJays, so is A*. A* clearly mention (CE APPROVED ARMOR) as an accessory, but RJays Octane too is thick foam like all jackets, but they've quoted it wrongly in their website as CE approved back protector, which is not the case. Even I had the same doubt when I purchased it, but you can upgrade for CE protected back protector from RJays themselves, though I suspect the local dealers here have stock, so only a handful really opt for an upgrade after shelling a fortune on their jacket!

Though I personally would love to see the photos. Fingers crossed. Ride safe!

    Cheers!

    • Thanks Vijay , for the info. I did look into website before posting the info here.

I was planning to have a check on it for Chest protector anyway, and a spine protector (from Cramster).
Have to get a not so expensive Riding Pants as well. Would check for the CE approved armor along with it.

I would post the pics too buddy , but I am traveling right now..

          Guys,
I'm looking for a good gloves under 2k.
I live in Kerala and most of the time it's hot here.
Im planning to buy the cramster twister gloves, good specs and fair price. But I haven't seen any reviews or anything about it also people say cramster built quality isn't great.

So, what you guys think? Any better deals under 2k(can't go above, not even 100 bucks)
          Thanks

Why don't you try the Spartan Phaeton leather/cum textile jacket. It's a short cuff glove.

            Cheers!

I've never seen them in person, except a few marred images in a recent G2G, never had teh opportunity to wear them see them properly. But considering the price, it isn't a rip off for the quality it offers. You can contact them through their CONTACT ME page and they will co-ordinate with you.

I myself am eyeing on the Phaeton

Regarding Twister and Phaeton, Twister is full leather at that price point, whereas Spartan is tex cum leather, at 1700. Go for Cramster, if you're budget constrained, it's just 200 bucks that makes the difference, and don't forget shipping gets added extra in both

                    Cheers!

Why eying? Buy the phaeton, so if it's not upto the mark, I can learn from your mistake

So, cramster is full leather and Spartan is not, cramster costs less, Spartan costs more, it means twister is vfm. But I really love the design of phaeton

                      Confused

Spartan might be a good proposition, though I personally haven't got to wear them, plus more or less offers some goodies when compared to DSG, with a removable wind/rain liner plus a thermal liner, which effecitively makes it two.

                              • Guys, I have been riding bikes from last 3 yrs, but this is the First time I bought myself a pair of gloves (Alpeinstar).
I rode my bike with those gloves today, but to my surprise, the ride experience deteriorated. Mainly because, i was hardly getting around 50% of feedback of the accelerator and the clutch.

Now is it like that only, or will my experience get better with more rides with the gloves??
