But yes there is no other option even till 1.5k to 1.8k.

So for 800bucks, they are good to start with and to save from some crashes.

I am getting those , though not seen yet from a reputated shop @ Rs. 1450 in Kolkata. Will those be original ? If yes, How can I verify that ?
If other products are available what are the options ?

No genuine products from Fox, Thor or any other reputed manufacturer are going to be available less than Rs. 2.5k. Definitely fake.

@ Nomad - in my experience, one of the best knee guards that you can buy to wear under riding pants are the Forcefield Limb Tubes. Their construction ensures that the knee protector stays in place even in a crash. I stopped using over the pants bionics types after they ripped off in a slide. Over the pant knee guards are meant for motor cross or low speeds at best and are not designed for a high speed get off but many use them for lack of better choice.

They don't fit my requirement, they are exactly same as the AXO's, so will scratch the bike when you wear them. I am looking at ordering something online and getting it shipped, seems like the only option to get a good product.

          • Nope ! I wear them, they don't do scratches to my bike... they are by no mean same a AXO, AXO has complete Fiber protection & very bulky, its compact & Have Cloth or Fibre at corner's....

It is not an upgrade but comes standard with the jacket. See this - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theaterThe Phoenix is not a mesh jacket as far as I know.

EDIT : Spartan ProGear has also just launched a premium mesh jacket called the HYPERION, which is a perforated 1.2 mil Brazilian Hide leather and mesh combination with KNOX as the standard armour in the elbows and shoulders for Rs.7499/-. I will post some pics soon.
Excellent! So is there any way to distinguish the Knox protectors from the regular CE ones externally? Reason I'm asking is the retailer may not be as savvy as you and I are and might just sell me the regular one, saying it has the Knox protector by default now.

Also, are stocks readily available or do I have to pre-order? I went to S.M. Studios y'day but there was no stock of SPG there I'll have to try my luck at A.H. Helmets, although Harmesh from S.M. has promised to get me the jackets in a week.

The HYPERION sounds interesting. Do post pictures, specs , features and everything you can tell us about this new arrival asap. And why should one opt or this over a Helios?

Superlikey. Do post the photos when you lay your hands on them.

Anyways, I need a all weather Jacket and Gloves when combining in the 10K range.

                Currently considering Jacket
DSG Nero Jacket [TXCJ002K] vs Spartan Helios
                Gloves : DSG Primal.
Did you consider this? Do you really need an ALL WEATHER jacket? If yes, then you might want to look at some jackets as Spartan Odysseus or Spartan Helios (extra liner). For most, a jacket with a wind liner would fit the bill. But if you really are a cold weather rider or the place you live has frequent temperature drips, then you might want to consider an "all weather" jacket.

But the way Spartan ProGear has been doing things, it's a sureshot way of good things to come.

Call up, PlanetDSG if they have it in stock. Else you can source them any US website, or eBay, though the latter is really costlier (duties and stuff)

Scoyco is the Chinese manufacturer offering good quality stuffs at affordable prices. My bicycle gloves double as motorcycle gloves occasionally lasted well more than 2 years of literally "RAPE" and still going strong. Far better than some mainstream companies.

Yes they are distinguishable, but for that you'd have to remove the armor in the jackets you're about to buy and check for KNOX logo, which will be apparent when you remove it from their pockets. The same is the case with other brands, but some just ignore stamping their logo, except the CE rating. That said, you can see if it's KNOX or else, once you remove the armor. If you intend to do so, remove them in the shop, just to check the armor (if the guy asks why are you removing them) get your doubts clarified and then purchase them. If you intend to teach the seller, then you're in trouble

It's obviously mate, you have leather, which is by far the best protection a riding gear can offer, so the advantages are significant.

P.S. I personally have a very good felling about the HYPERION, much needed one and at time.

                Cheers!

Great buy. Did you just go for the basic jacket or added liners? So it costed you 11k in all?

Great. Do post the jacket review on how the jacket works out for your wifey, would clear some air for those investing in this jacket for their better half.

                        Cheers!

                        • Its not a "ladies" jacket per se since its not shaped appropriately. The fit is fine, just that it bulges a bit at the hips. There are no straps to adjust the hip area. The armor is properly placed and does not move around so there is not issue if a lady uses the jacket. Honestly speaking I prefer the looks of the Helios over the very girly looking Aphrodyte.

You nailed it right, it's a ladies jacket and it's not supposed to be SHAPED properly, you know why

I wanted her to try out the jacket before buying it and was not aware of any place that stocked Rjay's in Bangalore. Besides, someone posted a few pages back that Rjay's quality has deteriorated of late.
