Two days back visited A H Helmets, still spartan - hyperion is not available with them. TriedHelios, its good jacket and fit is also good. But I want in all black which was not available. For knee guard the person showed me scoyco brand knee guards and elbow guards, for some INR 1500. Is it worth buy? Or should I go for Cramster bionic knee guards? Or any other suggestion?

If you know your size, send a mail to [email protected] and get whatever jacket you want home delivered. Regarding the knee-guards, while I personally don't prefer the over-the-knee type, if I had to choose between the two - it would be the Scoyco. Much better quality.Originally posted by param0504 View PostTwo days back visited A H Helmets, still spartan - hyperion is not available with them. TriedHelios, its good jacket and fit is also good. thank you Sir for your reply, the person at shop told me that he is getting new stock (where jackets have inbuilt KNOX armours) in one or two week time, so i will wait for that. I want to try hperion also. Instead of over-the-knee guard, what you recommand? I want to go for better option, as this are one time purchase, and I donot want to compromise on safety.

Big and bulky, not sure of the price , but also do try out the FOX(fake one's in the market that you get for odd 500rs) , cramster and scoyoco knee pads, if you have a decent budget get the Thor or the A* ones.Originally posted by xtremevicky View PostHow good are AXO knee pads ?

Replace zipper on Alpinestar Jacket
Hi all,
The zipper on my Alpinestar mesh jacket has given up. It has not been aligning properly and does not close properly and now the slider too has broken off. The jacket is in a perfect condition and being an Alpinestar, I do not really want to give it up unless there is no other alternative.
So, has anyone got his jacket's zipper replaced - I guess the normal tailor will probably not be able to do it due to the thicker material so where should I get it done from?

Get it to places where they locally manufacture bags and stuff. They will be easily able to do it for you. If its juat the zipper come off loose then replacing it will be easy job.Originally posted by thebiker2k2 View PostHi all,

I will eventually get the A* ones but for the time being was looking for alternatives. I guess I would rather wait than buy them.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostBig and bulky, not sure of the price , but also do try out the FOX(fake one's in the market that you get for odd 500rs) , cramster and scoyoco knee pads, if you have a decent budget get the Thor or the A* ones.

Then get the fox ones, though it's an accepted fact that it is fake. But it does the job. Quite a few friends of mine have saved their knees with this one and in the mean time save up 5k for tehe A* knee guards. Even i use the fox kneeguards.Originally posted by xtremevicky View PostI will eventually get the A* ones but for the time being was looking for alternatives. I have used the Thor knee guard and found it very comfortable. It seems strong as well.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostBig and bulky, not sure of the price , but also do try out the FOX(fake one's in the market that you get for odd 500rs) , cramster and scoyoco knee pads, if you have a decent budget get the Thor or the A* ones.

Personally Scoyco is one of the best budget brands out there, forget all the others, when I say "budget brand" they mean business. Scoyco jackets, gloves, all are indeed excellent VFM money stuffs. They are just rightly priced for the right type of product, nothing more nothing less.Originally posted by param0504 View Post...showed me scoyco brand knee guards and elbow guards, for some INR 1500. That being said, never really tried a Scoyco Kneeguards, but if you find it comfortable, and feel satisifed after trying some other brands, if you can, then I would suggest you to go for Scoyco.
AXO knee guards and Cramster are pretty much tip and toe, basic protection for the price paid. Thor, A*, and others are a tad costlier, but they are worth the buck.Originally posted by xtremevicky View PostHow good are AXO knee pads ?
You can. Textile can be pretty much mended, though most of them cannot as it depends on the thickness. I myself ruined my gig bag zippers, and I had to take it to a cobbler to get it stitched. Take it to people who deal with leather, because they have machines with needles that are stronger and more suited for this type of operation.Originally posted by thebiker2k2 View PostHi all,

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

KrishnaThanks for the suggestion guys - I do know of someone who makes/repairs bags so I will try that first. No idea of anyone who works on leather and I do not think cobbler can really work with zipper...Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View Post

VJ - I had got it from Milan (Italy) a couple of years back - had gone there on a trip and there is a huge bike gear showroom (Union Bike) there where I spent atleast a couple of hours just looking at stuff - it was like paradise
. This Alpinestar jacket and Alpinestar GPX gloves were on sale and I just couldn't resist buying this Italian brand from Italy
Both have been serving me pretty well since then...
