I guess most would have. What's the problem? Go ahead and make the purchase if you intend to. But no matter what, always check the ablblty before you make the purchase by calling them or by mail.Originally posted by Evander_F View PostAny member bought anything from planet-dsg website recently? I was looking online to buy a mesh/textile jacket abroad & found this interesting jacket - Teknic Supervent Mesh jacket [Teknic Supervent Mesh Jacket - RevZilla] & loved it's quality & features. Interestingly, it's higher version is also superb but the price & aero hump coupled with only one color option dsnt seem to cut it. Between A* pricey but good range & others about which i dnt know much, this jacket seems pretty VFM. Can anyone recommend some good & similar riding jackets that one can get from abroad.A Bike is as good as it's Rider & Vice-verse. Ride Safe, Ride Happy !!!

Hi guys need help on riding gear.
I'm a college student and have started saving money from my pocket money to get riding gear since the past 1 year.
Looking at the following items:
1) Riding Jacket - Scoyco JK 17 / JK 27 - Range around 4000
2) Gloves - Pro biker local ones / Scoyco MC 09 - Range around 500
3) Helmet - Studds Scorpion / Cross - Max 2000
Currently using a Vega full face helmet for city use.
Looking forward for some good touring.
Please let me know if these seem alright or any changes are needed.
Any place good enough in Bombay to get the equipment??
Thank you

You've quoted the affordable range precisely. In helmets, go for STUDDS SCORPION or RHYNO.
Jacket for a price point, the best bet or the DSG AERO at 4499
For gloves try upping your budget and go for leather, yes they are a grand or two costlier, but they are worth it.
Cheers!

Since, he is getting his gears from bombay/mumbai..i think he could also take a look at Spartan's Icarus & phaeton gloves which is also very VFM, right ?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostAppreciate your effort for investing money for something relevant.

santosh.k - as far as i know, some people has discussed the stores in mumbai in previous posts, check those posts out & confirm them but remember when i checked last month, sourcing scoyoco was difficult citing main dealer issue, besides jk17 is a summer mesh jacket, jk27 is a tourer jacket[The Near Perfect Riding Jacket: Scoyco JK-27] which makes them very different. personally, i think wid veteran seniors like B7ACKTHORN, i hardly think it wil be a matter of concernA Bike is as good as it's Rider & Vice-verse. The reason I suggested that was strictly under budget. Extending the budget by a few grands, he'd get a little more added safety.

I agree on that one, though i dunno about the price point as my dealer said scoyoco has also increased it's prices & availability is a real issue though if the problem has been solved then i guess then from entry point, scoyoco is definitely VFM else if he could just exceed his jacket budget to 4.3-4.4k then i guess spartan icarus & dsg nero are very well though i doubt them as for heavy touring purposes right ? Besides i guess he could get discount over the commuter pro-biker gloves for 390-400 instead of regular 500 if he either bargains or just gets them from sites like snapdealOriginally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostHey thanks Aditya, nothing like veteran I'm just helping people with the little knowledge I have. Personally I'd refrain from purchasing these Probiker gloves online. When you buy an accessory for a body part make sure you try them, I've made that make and paid the price.Originally posted by aditya_iyer View PostI agree on that one, though i dunno about the price point as my dealer said scoyoco has also increased it's prices & availability is a real issue though if the problem has been solved then i guess then from entry point, scoyoco is definitely VFM else if he could just exceed his jacket budget to 4.3-4.4k then i guess spartan icarus & dsg nero are very well though i doubt them as for heavy touring purposes right ? Now it doesn't mean one shouldn't, he/she can but if there is a discrepancy that's where the problem starts, return shipping, etc waiting period etc etc.
95% percent of the time the stuffs I've bought online have been true to description but sometimes it's an oddball and it happens on things which you don't want to happen.
It's just my two cents.

Thank you for your inputs B7ACKTHORN and Aditya.
DSG Aero fits the budget but personally like the looks aspect for Scoyco JK 17 which also falls within the same range.
Regarding the helmet would the Studds Scorpion / Rhyno offer decent protection?
For gloves I could extend the range to 1000 but then would want something longer lasting.
Sorry but as a college student have loads of budget constraints.---
