Just curious - what jacket do you have that doesn't have back armour or provision for it? SPG does not sell back armour separately.

Try Wildcraft (Wildcraft.in | Backpacks, Rucksacks, College Bags, Adventure Traveling Equipments, Rain Cheaters | Wildcraft Online Store). They got some rain wear too.

Can anyone educate me on how to store a mesh riding jacket and leather gloves for a period of more than 5 months? I am currently going off to Bangalore for higher studies and it being a trimester system, won't be able to come back home and ride until I am a sophomore.

You may clean the Mesh jacket and put it in a suit packing bag (sample pic below to help you figure out my point)

Polish your leather gloves and then zip them in a poly zipper bag (pic below) .............. obviously of a bigger size

                Hi All,

I have been using a Pro Rider gloves for 10-15km daily city riding which was an impulse buy.
Need some advice and help to purchase proper riding gloves for touring/leh ladakh, so I guess it would be a plus to get a waterproof and cold weather glove. Have been going through the thread and have figured that I have a few options.

                DSG Primal - INR 2750
                Carbon Fibre Knuckles
Has air vent, so am not sure if they will be water proof/suitable for cold weather.
But at the same time, the product page says its weather resistant.

                DSG Revive - INR 2250
                Carbon Fibre Knuckles
Again has air intakes for cooling, so not sure if they will be water proof.
It does not specify if its weather proof or resistant.

                Cramster Tundra - INR 1750
                Embedded knuckle protector
Specifically made for Cold and Rain Conditions
                Not usable in Summer

                Sparten Ares - INR 2950
                Carbon Fibre Knuckle
Not sure if they are waterproof or for cold weather.

Would be great if I could get feedback on each in terms of water proofing or water resistance or cold weather.

Now I know that there is no do-it-all glove like the Alpinestars Apex Drystar, but I cannot really justify spending 6.5k on a pair of gloves. So which of these would come close to the Alpinestars without compromising on safety and quality.

Out of curiosity, would like to know how the Alpinestars is from people who have used it.
                Keep Calm and Continue Riding!

AFAIK, only the Cramster listed among the choices above is specifically meant for the purpose that you have indicated, though I have no experience with it. The AStars DryStar is probably the best weatherproof glove that I have ever used. Simply superb.

Do you have any review of the gloves, a personal review would definitely be better. Can the glove be used for touring in South India, I am in Hyderabad, so do you think it would be possible to use if for tours around Hyderabad?

Tell you what, it's not a radioactive substance that needs to disposed and handled safely, but indeed they should be taken care of. Use the cover they have (or with the one they come with) whenever you store them and make sure they aren't heavyweighted with other paraphernalias on top of it.

I for one, use a separate bureau for my riding gear, all my riding gear, which comes with their cover. And the covers themselves are way more than enough to handle them and keep them alive and kicking.

Regarding gloves, the same procedure goes, just make sure all leather stuffs are dry enough before you pack them up (because you don't want mould growing when you take them for a ride and it smells @#$#$#, and keep them in a paper or plastic bag, case in point the bag or pouch that comes with the gloves, for long term storage. Done!!

                      Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I had the thought of good look & fitting and more safety in mind. And I'm regretting now.

Icarus was like made for me on special order.
I sold it to a xbhpian from chennai
Just did the courier. He will receive In a couple of days.

I bought this Octane from xBhp user "Kakkar" 30 min before that post.
But my bad I didn't checked the size properly like a shop (like I did for Icarus).
Actually I found it a bit awkward to look here and there in jacket in front of a xBhp senior member.

But then as always its ME.

Lost iPhone 5 yesterday, A tragedy today morning and I had to pay 900 bucks for no reason.

And in short, I lost all the money I did collected for new jacket, gloves, riding pants.
(A pocket money dependent guy have to save pennies :P)
