Even i felt the same. Looking at the price, i was actually likeOriginally posted by TeeJayy View PostI have not seen one myself but overall the sentiment in this forum is that it is not worth the price.
The material was average quality, the elbow and shoulder paddings were not that robust, that it will sustain the hit of a crash.

Thanks Man.Originally posted by chaosaddict View PostCongrats & a Great buy, bro!! Ride safe.
Howz the weight department? Is it manageable?, any significant difference while riding?
Well I didnt find very heavy. I am sure they are heavier than our regular boots but they are pretty comfortable. I think its a matter of getting used. They are very manageable.
Although I feel they have a sharper angle at the ankle than our regular boots which I think will really help on bikes with sports riding positions. I have a karizma and it has a very relaxed seating position. Will take some time getting used to.
Thanks Man.Originally posted by TranquilRageCool. And any info about nylon gloves?
Nice boots man!
Yeah that too! We tend to forget/neglect our feet
I would be coming soon to dhaba man. Now that I have more reasons to ride.Originally posted by prateek2210 View PostSeems I have to see the boots on the thread, rather than you coming down to dhabha once in a while atleast to show off your boots , leave aside meeting us
Not this weekend as I am out of town, but hopefully next weekend. Lets see. But will definately come to show the boots to you.

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
NYLON gloves are good, but make sure you get a size bigger than your glove when on your hands, that way it's almost an excellent barrier when it comes to rain. Same like how we use rain coat, a bigger size than the normal ones, just so it fits and undos correctly.Originally posted by TranquilRageCool. And any info about nylon gloves?

Congo rachit. Great going and thanks for the inputs and good photos. KUDOS.Originally posted by rachitkdogra View PostSo Finally after a wait of 4 years, finally I got my Riding boots. Initially wanted to get the SMX-2. But then decided in favour of the SMX-5.
I was looking at the SIDI Cobra also but chose the SMX-5, because they were slightly cheaper and I could buy them off the shelf from Delhi which meant I could wear them and try the fit before buying which I think is very important. I got the shoes from Meandring India, Vasant kunj New Delhi. Price is 11,100 Rs.
Well I have ridden only about 20 Kms in the boot.
Initial Impressions:
1) Quality is top notch. They are made in Thailand.
2) Comfort while walking and standing is good. No issues.
3) Slightly tighter from Ankle area. They will loosen up as they break in.
4) Right now having issues with Braking and Gear changing. Would need to get used to them, plus they are very stiff right now hopefully will loosen up in a couple of rides..

Surgical + MX? Myself and Sunny didn't advocate using surgical gloves at all, as I said they are even worse than paper, they are so thin and practically useless for anything except scooping up dog poop.
My suggestion and as I've said before to another query, go for a larger size nylon glove i.e. rain suit gloves, which are avlbl in different sizes, wear your glove on your hand, wear these nylon gloves over and you're all set.
One thing though to keep in mind is the feasibility of the glove to be able to be removed, fast and comfortably, and that's where bigger size matters. Mind you, not too big a size, but just a correct size, which you can keep fiddling with the store guy for a larger one, which fits your hand.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Hello,
Can I use automotive leather conditioner on Motorcycle Leather Jackets? If not what options do we have for conditioners?
Do we get sweat(Dry Fit) absrobing shirts/shorts to be worn under the gear, so as to protect the gear from stinking! Recommend something.

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Guys, I want a shoe for riding purpose but my budget is around Rs.1800-2200. Among JCB Earthmover OR Excavator OR Trekker (anyone) is a better option, or are there another shoes of different brands available within my budget that can serve my pupose well ?

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Excavator seems better as it has some padding at Ankle and also has steel toe cap. But adding to your list here are some more to think of, my personal liking is for the Elite Tactical Boot but think its overpriced. Me too still deciding and in the mean while a boot similar to the Excavator (without steel toe cap) is my gear :-)Originally posted by Abhisek View PostGuys, I want a shoe for riding purpose but my budget is around Rs.1800-2200. @Dreamwalker987 : i've read n re-read the threads n assessments & have finally zeroed on SPG Odsyssus. am not saying that's the best but given my budget of sub 6K, its the best option available @ that pricepoint.
@Kunwar.g : those are some real neat ones... u may also like to google for safety shoe dealers in ur proximity. i checked on sulekha.com & found quiet a handful of em. one such dealer is located @ GPO, Fort, Mumbai. planning to visit that place in a week.
@sumitro_d : all b2c portals have some flavor of these. u may also wish to check out http://jcbfootwear.in/product.htmlLast edited by whymail; 06-26-2013, 03:57 PM.◦ ● 4-wheels move the body... 2-wheels move the soul ● ◦
