Snug fit is the right for a riding jacket.. unless it's cold weather/winter jacket. Snug fit will let the protectors stay in place and not move around which means that the jacket won't be protective enough.

Leather gear should be in fact a bit snug (bordering on to tight) as with time, leather will take the form of your body. For textile jacket (like the Nero) a snug but comfortable fit is what one should look at.

As long as you are comfortable with the snug fit, you are ok.. and I feel you have made the right decision here with your jacket.

Got it, bro! Thanks!! 'happy for the choice....

Do Indian jackets have any sort of guarantee against manufacturing defects, poor quality, stitching and so on?
Indian brand riding gears probably can't give warranty / guarantee as all of them are imported from outside India.

          Hi All,

I was looking for some rainwear for motorcycling and came across this:
Motocentric Mototrek 2PC Rain Suit | MotoSport India

If someone has experience purchasing from the above site, please share your views.

on another note, can someone suggest me decent rain gear in Delhi/NCR?

if try to do checkout, you will come to know the actual cost that you need to pay, which will be easily 1.5 - 2 times the cost of product.

regarding decent rain gear, duckback,... regarding decent rain gear for bikes ... none.

These are Indian brands all right.. but all of them import their riding gear. But even if its made outside India, they can give warranty though.

Knox is just a brand that makes armor, there are other brands that make and sell armor too. Depending on the shape and size of the pockets one can buy them and replace the armor in their riding jackets / pants. Tomorrow Cramster can also start providing armor like from "Forcefield", "Icon" in their jackets.

Uhmm..any info about lower rate boots?other than high end ones like sidi, astar etc.is there no spartan/dsg of riding boots?

Also can anyone provide info about our customs/duties/taxes on importing riding gear from outside.say for example from revzilla.generally from outside India.is it a flat rate or it varies with type of gear and original cost of the item?I mean for eg there are higher spec branded gloves outside at the price of spartan pegasus during clearance sales but other than fact that price will increase no idea how its calculated.other than shipping cost that is.

Cramster did sell riding boots at one point of time. Right now they don't sell them anymore. Guess one has to opt for brands like Sidi, AStars for riding boots in India.

Yep, its an Adventure Touring / Dual Sport boot. It cost $90 (after discount), which is pretty good value I'll say.

My friend has got it on his way back from the US.

Rjays does have some budget riding shoes and boot, check Bachoo motors website for the details. They might be pretty VFM i guess, have seen only the Djays touring boots in flesh.

You, my friend are seriously misinformed. SPG does not sell ANY other apparel brand at this time other than their own and the Experience Centre on the ECR definitely does not sell AStars - leave alone fake ones. If I didn't think that you were misinformed, I would have to assume that your post was mischievous and in poor taste to cast aspersions on the company. I also wonder why the owner of the jacket, Sagar has not responded yet?

That's not entirely true. SPG offers a 6 month limited warranty against manufacturing defects on all apparel products sold by them or through their resellers. The only thing you have to do is send in your claim accompanied with the tax invoice of your purchase. This warranty has been claimed to my knowledge by a few customers. Obviously it does not cover damages due to wear and tear and crashes.

I wonder then - isnt it strange then that old timers and entrenched brands like DSG and Cramster haven't bothered to do it and that Spartan has ? Could it be that its because SPG makes its own gear by a licenced CE rated production house? Or is it just because the oldies simply couldn't care less to improve?

Duties on imported apparel is calculated at approx 30% of the invoice value + freight cost. Then add approx 5-10% for handling and C&F costs. So if you import something that costs US$100 and costs about US$50/- freight, you will end up paying approx 35-40% on US$150. These are thumb rules and exceptions do occur so use the information accordingly. Sometimes Indian customs simply do not bother and you end up without any duties at all! of course, this is getting rarer as systems become more iron-clad.
