I am in the market for a new set of riding pants. I ve looked at a few india-based websites and realized that the options are quite limited (also, I don't want to spend big $ )

I am grounded in Chennai, so hot weather wear-ability is important for me. Right now, I manage with knee guards over jeans. A cheapo rainpant when it eventually rains. But on long rides, I don't want to have such a complicated arrangement. I want to ride with my gear on instead of packing an assortment of items to wear when it rains / cold etc.

So guys, please fire away your take on the riding pants available from DSG, Cramster, etc. My budget (7500 or so max) wont get me an alpine* or rukka for sure.
- which is the best one for warm/hot weather like Chennai?
- which one has good waterproof capability? meaning, air vents that I can zip up when wet weather strikes without having to do a lungi-dance at road side trying to wear a rain pant

The bitter truth is most of the guys even with dual liner pants, do wear nylon pullovers when it rains quite dramatically. And always remember, no motorcycle gear is 100% waterproof they are just resistant to an extent so does jacket etc. Unless you pay $1000 for a Rukka, that wouldn't suit our tender pockets.

You have quite a lot of varities, DSG, Rjays, Spartan, AGV, A* etc etc. I'd clearly suggest you to stay away from A* purely for budget purposes, you can consider RJays All Season Pants and the Spartan Odysseus both are really good pants. And then you have AGV which is, of course costly resold by Performance Racing Store you can Google it. But it's a very good stuff too.

Or if you want just a mesh pant with no rain liner, you have the AGV Solare which retails for 6000 bucks but with that money you can get a pant with liner on the above mentioned brand. So the choice is yours now.

Cheers!

try ebay.in

the sellers there mostly sell the XL sized ones as they assume a universal fit for the size .............. what you can do is that you may run into a shop with your friend and find out his palm size by trying out options including the Probiker ones and then work out your possibilities by contacting the seller with best price for required size and bingo!!

I had bought my scoyco MC08 from ebay at 550/- last year.

take a look http://www.ebay.in/sch/i.html?_trksi...at=0&_from=R40

Try the DSG motomesh gloves. In the DSG website it is shown for a price of Rs 1050.

Cheers

Ya, but 2days ago i checked that at Planet DSG store, MG Road, he told me that Motomesh is for Rs. 1500/-. Is he asking more or the rates have gone up?

1500 for the motomesh???

Maybe the rates have gone up, but in their website it is still shown for Rs 1050. Well in that case for 1k range only the scoycco and probiker gloves are the only options.
I think 1500 for motomesh gloves are too much. Add a few hundreds more and you can get a Rynox Rampage.

Cheers

Never go for DSG Motomesh gloves, or any glove for that matter. There are good leather gloves from Cramster in the range of 1.6k. You can get yourself a good leather glove, by saving up a little more. Mesh gloves aren't quite useful for touring and one fall and you can see your 1000 bucks waving at you.

Save a little more and get the Cramster Flux.

Cheers!

After hearing 1500 my reaction was also the same, i thought i heard something wrong so i asked him again.
Anyways, Currently i am using probiker gloves, want to upgrade. May be I'll wait for sometime and then go Rampage. On ebay it's for 1650 i guess...

Yes eBay and elsewhere there are lots of sellers espeically RYNOX folks. Probiker gloves are good, at least full textile glove are good to an extent, but mesh anything that has gauze in it, be it metal or synthetic is not a good idea to settle down.

Cheers!

That will be more better. Check your size and try to order it directly through the Rynox website, or else as B7ACKTHORN said you can also try Cramster Flux which is leather gloves.

If anyone wants to purchase RYNOX stuffs, better call them directly, it's worth the wait or two. Those chaps are a real down to earth and very professional. And usually they give discounts, but you can always talk them down on it, which they oblige for the most part.

Cheers!
