Anybody can suggest any other way I can source the part. The local dealer says source it from spartan
Hi Doga -
I checked on this and the Chennai Centre has sent a replacement chin vent free of cost to a Mr. R.Datta in Navi Mumbai on the 30th Jan after getting your address on the 27th! Please ping me with your contact details so that I can ask someone to call you. You are Mr. R.Datta I presume?

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Hi All,
I am looking forward to buying a jacket and a pair of gloves. After going through this thread and other websites, I have narrowed down to these options:
Jacket:- DSG Triton
- Spartan Helios
- Spartan Hyperion
- AGV Sport Solare cket
Gloves:- Spartan Ares
- DSG Primal
- Rynox Rampage
I've already tried the Triton jacket in Orion Motors, Bangalore, and they fit very well for me. Though I'm about to visit Let's Gear Up to check out the Spartan stuffs.
Just to had a clear idea about the pros and cons of each product before trying them out, I was going through this thread thoroughly, and my puny little brain ended up in a big confusion.
So, posting here to clear out the perplexity out of my head.
I mostly travel to my office, and small trips here and there during weekends. An all weather and easy to clean product is preferable.
Waiting for your valuable inputs
, and if I'm not asking too much, a point-wise list of pros and cons would be very helpful.
Thanks & Regards.

Going by your shortlisted choices and the usage that you have mentioned I would recommend that you go with the Hyperion.Originally posted by soumya_digi View PostHi All,

Gloves:- Spartan Ares

I mostly travel to my office, and small trips here and there during weekends. An all weather and easy to clean product is preferable.
Reason: the Hyperion being a mesh/leather combo provides maximum safety while also being very comfortable to wear on a daily basis.
I wouldn't recommend the Triton as for all purposes it is an oven with the rain liner stitched right into the jacket, the Hyperion on the other hand has provision for removable rain and thermal liners that can also be worn as separate jackets. And not to forget the knox armour.
The Helios is great too, but if you are willing to spend the extra cash then the Hyperion surely is a better choice.
With regards to the AGV jacket I shall not comment as I got no hands on experience with them, but since you are in bangalore, while you do visit LGU give it a try and see how it is.
With respect to the gloves. All of them are good gloves where Ares and Primal have the upper edge being full leather gauntlet gloves with more protection and the Rampage is of textile material offering lower abrasion resistance if and when you fall.
Ares are great but IMHO a tad bit pricey. I would suggest that you try the gloves and see what suits you best and what feels more comfortable.____________________

Helios and Hyperion is just a matter of the budget you have, if you have a restricted budget go for the helios, otherwise go for the hyperion.Originally posted by soumya_digi View PostHi All,

If You have Budget allows Go for Solare, Dsg Triton Is more biased to Winter and rainy season Riding. You will be sweeting like hell at anything above 30degrees. The Budget and best package Is Hyperion, Good Vfm. personally try each of them and go the one you feel Most comfortable withOriginally posted by soumya_digi View PostHi All,

Yes yes!! But how come I didn't receive the replacement? Unless the watchman of my building also has a metalman requiring the exact same part, I see no reason not to receive it
I just hope he is not a closet duker :P
I'll pm you my no. Btw spartan could have emailed a confirmation about the shipping of the part, would have avoided the confusion. This after they ship it free of cost(a great gesture IMO) ?The hero always RIDES into the sunset!

As a matter of normal protocol, an email is sent as soon as an order is shipped. In this case, since it was an out of system shipment by customer service with no payment tag, it wasn't emailed either.Originally posted by Doga View PostYes yes!! . Just one of those scenarios where the process fell between two tables - and something that needs addressing. Thanks for the heads up - and please PM your contact details for follow-up.

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Guys after deciding on Helios I'm searching for a good pair of gloves, but as usual I cant decide
1) Cramster Blaster & Spartan Peagusus being short styled gloves would they cover the jacket's sleeves??
(If they would cover the sleeves I would prefer short gloves)
2) in the full gauntlet gloves category I've narrowed down to TRG2 & Ares, which one is good??
P.S. I've used the SEARCH option & have read about them but am still confused
Please help!!

Nope, short cuff won't cover the sleeves. Never a Cramster!!! Its crapster!!! You should go for Ares.Originally posted by Jitu Badlani View PostGuys after deciding on Helios I'm searching for a good pair of gloves, but as usual I cant decide

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
1) Short cuffed do not cover the jackets, that's the reason they are short cuffs. Among them the pegasus is the best, been using it for about 20k kms in all kind of weather conditions and it still hold good, not a single stitch is out of place.Originally posted by Jitu Badlani View PostGuys after deciding on Helios I'm searching for a good pair of gloves, but as usual I cant decide

2)Among the full gauntlets, the Ares is good but costly at 3.3k but the Cramster tr2g is a tried and tested product and costs about 2.3k , so it's really a matter of choice, if you have the money for spartan go for it. or go for cramster and use the rest for somethign else.
BTW, there is a 3/4 legth gauntlet model form spartan, have a look at that, it might be exactly what you are looking for.
Cheers
