TRG2 looks a good deal at this price, but many members are questioning the quality.
Is TRG2 so bad on quality terms compared to Ares?? People using TRG2 please throw some light

Have been using TRG2 for 3 years now. The only problem is its not water proof. I personally didnt find any flaw in the stitching in my gloves. Yes after 3 years and almost 30k kms of touring, I need to upgrade them.

P.S : It takes time to wear them as they are full gauntlet. In city use, this would be an issue

(If they would cover the sleeves I would prefer short gloves)

You can also try Rynox Kombat. Its semi-gauntlet and the quality is good. Isn't much hassle to wear and the fitting is spot on.

There are video reviews from HeartBrokenRider available in Youtube. You can check them out.

Has anyone experience with Odysseus pants for long rides? If yes, please do share. I know RiderZone has a review, but the pants were not termed comfortable or good enough. If someone has used it then please share your comments.

I have used the TR2G for quite some time, actually it was my first riding glove that i had, the quality for the price was amazing, though cramster does have reputation for sub standard quality, the TR2G never gave such problems, i know many people who still use the TR2G without any issues, i had sold off mine because since it was a full gauntlet using it within city was a pain and at that time mine was mostly just daily commutes and just rare touring occasions only.

Waterproofing is a problem with most leather gloves, leathers are not meant for being used in presence of water, so one must be careful when using them.

Zeus generally are a tad costly for the price they offer it compared to the features they have, the build quality does look all that great , the jacket seems ok, but the gloves are poorly built and heavy and pricey too.

Please read in my review of Zeus, available in my signature, Spartan's site is crappy. Please contact them personally as Centaur was available in Jan ~ Feb. Also you can have a look at Rynox Kombat. They offer fantastic quality.

                Hello All,

Does anyone here have any experience or input about the following boots.

Model 1007 & Model 869 - PGS BIKING GEARS DELHI, INDIA

                &

PUMA Motorsport, PUMA Flat2 - Urban Riding Boots.

Planning to pick them up withing the week. How is PGS gear in general? I fear the PUMAs even though they look good have majority of the cost in brand and not functionality. Any truth to these fears?

Hey, I have used A* SMX-2 Monster Edition , DSG Aqua, RYNOX Kombat, Scoyco gloves so far and nothing lasted for more than an year. I do use gloves daily when ever i take my bike out of the garage.

Finally after waiting for Rynox Inferno decided not to wait any more went ahead and purchased ZEUS HIGHWAY RIDER GLOVES. As soon as i wore them i felt them very comfortable and their material is also pretty good. Their construction is very good and they are snug fit. I felt they are bang for the price.

The only thing i felt bad is that even though there are air vents on the fingers i have never felt any air flow passing through them.

I suggest u to try them once.

Once of my friend is using these Puma Urban Riding boots since past 2months and he told me that they are very comfortable to use daily. He wear them while going to office and during rides too. But these need some break-in before you start liking them.

                    Hello everyone
I am posting here in xbhp after a 1.5 years gap since then i have been a lurker in several threads. I have recently purchased a pair of Spartan Pegasus riding gloves from Adventure Shoppe Coimbatore and I really have to thank Mr.Vj and everyone in this thread who were indirectly helped me in getting a clear idea about all the riding gears. At present I am having a Spartan Pegasus glove, Blacksteel Boots and a simple leather jacket. Now i have zeroed in on my decision of purchasing a Helios jacket next month and will come up with a review of both the gloves and jacket soon.
If you ride like there's no tomorrow there won't be...

Centaur gloves are very much in the market and have not been discontinued. I saw fresh batches of centaur today, here in Delhi. I would say if you have this on your mind, look no further, they are pretty much the best of the semi-gauntlet out there. I can say this as I have both Rynox Kombat and DSG Revive. The leather quality in Spartan products is superior to both these brands, although Centaur does cost more. In fact Centaur and DSG Carbon (full gauntlet) are priced same.

Riding boots were the only gear which was missing mainly because there were not many options in 5-10k range. Even if there were, they were mainly ankle length. And finally today I picked up Spartan Hercules Touring boots for 6200/-. According to the dealer who uses Tourmaster road boot, this is very similar to it and even the build quality is comparable at half the price of the Tourmaster. The fit was fine for me and the boots will break-in after usage for sometime.

Let me start off with first impressions.

It weighs similar to my Woodlands boots if not lighter. Walking was not a problem initially but its not very soft at the sole so after sometime feet started paining a little. Btw I walked more than a kilometer after I bought it And yes, I know this boots isnt made for walking but we generally walk around the destination in our rides and for that this should not be a problem at all. Post break in, even mini treks should be fine I believe.

Anyways enough walking, lets get back to riding with these boots

Well it feels very different to change gears now, even if the gear is clunky, you dont feel a thing. Sometimes I wasnt sure if the gear really changed or not, had to look at the gear indicator on the console to confirm Maybe because I am not used to the boots yet. Also due to extra thickness near toe area, you have to move your foot a lot to upshift and downshift, which is again a matter of getting used to. It is rainproof, but I didnt check that yet, will test it tomorrow.

                          Here are few pics,

One good thing is if you dont tuck the pants in your boots, you will never grab any attention at all! It almost looks like a formal shoe. See the pic below.

Anyways, overall it does seem a good buy for that price. Will be going on a ride tomorrow and post some more details on the experience with the boots.

Btw @Sunnyside_up! Apart from gloves, all my gears are from Spartan, do we get a matching set bonus if one wears all spartan gear like how it is in PC games?

EDIT : You can find a short test to see the waterproof behaviour here.

Thats a good buy, as I was more inclined on getting waterproof boots, I chose the Hercules.

Btw, lesser branding doesnt make these boots stand out at all, thus you can wear it to office and nobody would realize it (Provided you dont tuck in your pants inside the boots).
Also I observed that most touring boots have lesser logo/brand name on it.

True indeed, but was just wondering..you know something to make it more attractive..!!

The Zeus seems to be a more of sport riding kind of boot, wonder how it will fair against long distance riding..!! Well, will find it out soon enough.>!
