That said I don't use it for my daily commute to office as I don't want to keep wearing it for the whole day. I didn't feel like wearing it on my jeans, as it tends to slide, if I move my legs. Hope the brief review helps.
    I hadn't noticed this earlier.

@ Ravi - The guards are meant to be worn UNDER the pants. Not over.

I know, but had tried this anyway to check if I could use it for my daily commute to office. Although you would be surprised that it can be worn without much fuss over pants too.

As a company policy SPG does not overstate product capabilities and make claims that cannot be validated and prefers to err on the side of caution. That said, the boot is equipped with a waterproof membrane liner that should provide good protection against water and definitely against rain and monsoon conditions. Just FYI - my 8 month old prototype boots actually have a "waterproof" label which was replaced with a "rainproof" label during production.

SPG would rather a rider be happy that the product he purchased performs better than claimed than vice-versa!

Your issues with the gear lever will disappear once you get used to it. I take it that you've not been riding with motorcycle boots before?

@ Sunnyside_up! - Do you have these boots in size 11 India (Euro - 45)? I have got my major gear from SPG at your showroom at ECR, Chennai. Would love to pick these if available there.

Put on the knee guard while standing up or sitting with a straight leg. This would ensure that the guard is strapped on when your leg circumference is at its smallest, as your muscles are not flexed. Once you bend your knee, the elastic bands at the top and bottom will stretch to accomodate the expansion of your muscles. Also remember that the straps pull outwards like on cricket guards.

        Hope this helps.
I followed this piece of advice during our recent trip to Tiruppur & it worked like a charm. Even after 7 hours of riding, the guards stayed in their positions without much slack. And they are quite comfy even when worn underneath a pair of jeans, so much so, that I forgot I was wearing those within an hour of riding!

The boots sizes are from 41 to 43 only if i am not mistaken. Might have to wait for some time if they do indeed plan to launch it in bigger sizer.

I do realize that this must have been discussed before, but I need to know if there are any riding gears specifically designed for the comfort of our bums. ZMR's seat is pretty comfortable but it starts to feel uneasy after 200-250 km of ride. Also i am planning to buy a bicycle shorts type thing to prevent rashes but looking for something to enhance the comfort of the seat on long rides.
The other thing I am looking for right now is a VFM hydration pack.
Try getting 'Performax' branded shorts with mesh inner lining (that replaces your underwear) - these are made from sweat-absorbing material and probably a mix of terylene & polyester that can be easily washed & dry fast. At Chennai, they are available at Reliance Trends; not sure about other cities though. We found those to be pretty comfortable (both for our loins & back).

I think you're right, I was able to spot a shoe with size 43 - however, was told that sizes up to 45 could be made available.

I picked the LS2 FF351-1; that's when I noticed the LS2 Carbon, looks too good & relatively light - you may want to check that one out. SOL have got good options as well.

Been doing duty for 5 years, and almost seen it all, going strong. Not to mention these were the very old models when they first launched at 7k, but now the models have been refreshed both the ASII and the RJays Octane. But make sure you inspect the product well before you purchase, but other than that, it's a very well constructed pant.

I've used them already on BIC Noida KTM event (15 March) so can't exchange them. Plus, they don't have belt hooks. They have only 2 fabric hooks on each side, on the inside and they seem useless.

Secondly, on the rear of the pants, there is a zip, does that zip fit with jackets? (My DSG Jacket is old, and it doesn't have an attachment for that zip.)

So, what can I do to use the riding pants now?
I'd suggest you better sell them, Sam, reason being two, first off, loose pants are a real pain in the posterior when it comes to riding, especially walking with pants, you don't want to redo your pants on the move, especially a heavy pant like a riding gear. Secondly, it's so dumb of DSG for not providing adjuster D straps, but I'd suggest if you can make some jugaad fix by extending the lock flap to an extent and adding the press stud button to your hip size, else I'd suggest dunk the one and get a new one.

                Cheers!

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

The Helios looks kind of flashy and the Breezer's look is not appealing, yet I found another variant of the Breezer, The Cramster Breezer-RS Which looks good and also matches my bike,Look does matter for me Boss even at the cost of some discomfort but never on compromising safety. A noob question, is this variant of Brezzer an all weather jacket too? Plus how does the Dsg Phoneix feel in hot climatic condition ? Although been using it for five months I can't be a critic of it since it was my first and the only riding jacket that i ever used. It does get a little hot at stop signals but i taught this is how a jacket will feel and got used to it.

ohh.. I almost forgot heres a link for the Brezzer-RS, Its not been listed on Cramster's official site, found it elsewhere

                  http://www.outdoortravelgear.com/pro...h-jacket/black
The Cramster Breezer RS looks cool & since it's limited edition, you will have to be careful with it. But most importantly, the powerskin material that they used in their jacket is same as the one, Teknic used in my jacket, pants & shoes, so i will say that Powerskin works great in light to moderate rains but you can use those nylon raincoats for extra protection. In case you don't like these choices then you can also check out Revzilla's closeout deals if you can avail them from US or got someone coming from there

The fellows at Meandering India are very good and a decent lot. Right now they have got a few jackets, among them Achilles and Icarus of SPG. I doubt if they have cramster stuff with them right now. Anyways you should also look at Adventure 18. They also have good jackets and are genuine resellers.

For Delhi weather, I would suggest you to go for a mesh jacket as the weather is going to get a lot hotter.

So thanks to the inputs from VJ bhai and Nadeem, I went ahead with my plans for a custom armored leather riding jacket - and I have the final product on my hands now, and putting across the whole experience in once line, I am pleased to announce - it turned out to be much better than expected.

Since I had been playing around with the idea of a custom jacket, I had done a fair bit of homework. Once my plans were confirmed, I went ahead and placed my order. I had insisted on the highest quality leather that he could get me, the best quality stitching and the best craftsmanship.
I was in for a bit of disappointment when he told me that he couldn't show me a sample of the cowhide which would be used for the jacket. But he assured me that he knew his hides and he'd use only high-grade cowhide. I was still very apprehensive, lest the final product turn out to be a goatskin (soft leather) - so I again insisted that I needed the best quality work.

The measurements were taken, I gave him a few pics of a particular Roland Sands jackets to use as a reference, paid him the advance - and a month-long wait began.

The second disappointment came a month later - when I got a call that the jacket was ready and that there had been some changes to the the design and the final price ended up much higher than what I'd bargained for. I was mad - Not so much for the price, but the design - I wanted a simple and elegant design - now what change did he incorporate? I told him very clearly that if I didn't like the jacket, I wouldn't accept it - and he kept repeating that I'd like it very much.

So there I was at the store - and I was handed over a coat hanger from his rack. My first reaction when I grabbed the hanger was W..T...F!!!! It weighed a ton, literally!!! The thing was damn heavy, much heavier than my Cramster cordura jacket - perhaps on the wrong side of 5kgs.

I quickly unwrapped the polythene sheets and there lay in front of me my new riding gear. It was different from what I had ordered, yet, I couldn' take my eyes off the jacket that lay on the counter in front of my eyes. I tried it on - a perfect fit. The armors weren't fitted, so it sagged a bit at the shoulders and the arms seemed larger. But the attention to detail was fantastic.

Thick, durable cowhide that was almost 1.2mm thick. Heavy duty YKK zips. Excellent stitches. It seemed like I was looking at some much more expensive than what I'd bargained for. He'd added 4 openings for ventilation (which I had never mentioned in the original specs) - and that was really thoughtful of him. There were 2 riveted holes in each underarm (see pics below) for even more ventilation. And of course, a detachable thermal liner for those cold nights on the highway.

Now I will let the pics do the talking - feast your eyes!

The final product. Photos don't do it much justice. 2 pockets outside, 2 pickets inside, detachable thermal lining.

Ventilation at the back. The shoulder design looks a bit awkward at first, as if wearing a vest, but you get used to it.

                            Pros:
Quality and finish of a branded product
                            Well thought design
                            Good ventilation
                            Seamless integration with Armor pads
                            Detachable thermal liner for cold-weather

                            Cons:
                            Ultra-heavy!
Turned out to be lot more expensive than what I'd planned for.
                            Slightly 'baggy' fit.
