Yes, it was over 7 days.. I was out of town for a week after buying it, and could do a ride only after a week.. I shouldn't have listened to thr salesman who said you should leave about half inch at fingertips so that the fingers curl up comfortably while gripping Tue handlebar.

It made sense at that time, but apparently I didn't fully understand the repercussions..

Anyway whats done is done.. Will be wiser from hereon..

Indeed, mistakes can happen but we always learn something new from them abit hurtful in this case since you would have been happier had that glove was a better fit. Shit happens is all we can say.tc

Hey a slightly bigger glove should not be too much of an issue, pull the glove, strap it hard, should solve your issue. Unless its way too loose.

Yea I tried to pull it down as much as possible and strap it tightly, but it keeps folding in the palm.. Making gripping very difficult.. Also noticed, when pulled down hard, the knuckle protection is not on the knuckles anymore but more on the back of the hands...

So if a protective gear isn't protecting the intended area anymore, I might as well ride without it... :/.. to get one size smaller is what I think will be the wisest... But if u have any other hacks to make it work, I'll be more than glad to save a few bucks..

Bro, if the knuckle protection is not on the knuckle, its simple - the glove is too big. In my opinion, instead of taking risks and looking for hacks, exchange it while you can (if that's still an option)

Yea, thatssmy primary line of thought.. unfortunately an exchange is no longer possible, so i will have to buy a fresh pair, hence the last ditch effort at possible(seemingly not) hacks.. :P but I know i dont have any other option now.. so let me know if someone wants to buy a size XL cramster flux.. :P I'll have one spare..

Guys,
I am looking for a pair of knee guards. But am confused about the authenticity of products being sold online/shops.
Case in point being the dilemma of choosing a genuine pair of FOX Raptor knee/shin guards.

Which one of these three is the original? If not, where can I find (online) a good pair?

From the pictures it seems snapdeal has 2 prices for the same product?

Instead of investing on costly knee guards (though they have their justification) but most of it is nothing but the same plastic stuff that's sold ditto as their cheap counterparts as these ones. I've used the AXO and have worn the Raptor, the Raptor with it's red tinge is a real eye catchy design and offers very good protection, gives you lots of confidence to scrap your knees, and if you're looking to do exactly that, it's a wise decision to invest on these knee pads. These pads offer very good protection and are 100x better than no protection at all. All plastic stuff do break, and FOX Raptor series is an excellent VFM stuff for day to day use and very good protection, than shelling out half of one's salary for imported ones.

So thanks to the inputs from VJ bhai and Nadeem, I went ahead with my plans for a custom armored leather riding jacket - and I have the final product on my hands now, and putting across the whole experience in once line, I am pleased to announce - it turned out to be much better than expected.

Since I had been playing around with the idea of a custom jacket, I had done a fair bit of homework. Once my plans were confirmed, I went ahead and placed my order. I had insisted on the highest quality leather that he could get me, the best quality stitching and the best craftsmanship.
I was in for a bit of disappointment when he told me that he couldn't show me a sample of the cowhide which would be used for the jacket. But he assured me that he knew his hides and he'd use only high-grade cowhide. I was still very apprehensive, lest the final product turn .................. Ventilation at the back. The shoulder design looks a bit awkward at first, as if wearing a vest, but you get used to it.

Pros:
Quality and finish of a branded product
Well thought design
Good ventilation
Seamless integration with Armor pads
Detachable thermal liner for cold-weather

Cons:
Ultra-heavy!
Turned out to be lot more expensive than what I'd planned for.
Slightly 'baggy' fit.

Hope it's not too late though. Yes cowhide are pretty much thick and trust me goatskin is equally soft and if not on part when it comes to toughness. Good choice you've not taken the cowhide, cowhide being heavy and it easily gets stress induced fissures over time, goat skin, meld and take the form real easily and are real comfortable to wear, doesn't pinch your skin. The only problem is water, make sure you use a good conditioner if you happen to go under shower with this jacket. But apart from that goat skin is the one to go. My custom jacket coming soon, but this is just a plain leather jacket without armor, with my custom design.

This I am absolutely clueless, about the ones posted above by you. Most knee guards are equal to if not the same, just different brand name or manufactured in the same sweatshop with different branding. But funky graphics and contrasting colors add to the oomph, but I'd suggest you settle with FOX Raptor.

If this is what ur looking for, I have a pair exactly the same.. With different graphics and colour.. I've used it only once.. And I'm willing to part with it for 800/- if ur in Mumbai.. You can check before buying as well..

Err...I was quite specific about cowhide and I opted for the heaviest quality cowhide that I could get. Does it really have longevity issues? Having used Formula1 products earlier, I was sure it would be a good product. Costs ~360 bucks for a 240ml bottle, available at Auchan stores in Bangalore. I used the conditioner on one of my old leather wallets to test, and the effect was amazing. basically it does what it says, though I won't take a risk with my jacket in the rains

But apart from that goat skin is the one to go. My custom jacket coming soon, but this is just a plain leather jacket without armor, with my custom design.

Are you of the opinion that goat skin should be preferred over cowhide? I will be going for a custom leather jacket in about a month and would like to know which would be better for safety and longevity.

Please elaborate as I too thought that cowhide wad the only option if one wanted safety...

Leatherique products are available in India too but a bit costly. They will definitely serve the purpose in the long run. Have read great reviews about it but have not yet used them.

Bro if its leather, it can be shrink-ed, but its almost tough to predict to how extend, but definitely can be done, just dip your glove in cold water and dry, but be sure to test your fit soon it dries, that is within 24 hours, or else you my need to use hot water and try it on soon enough to get it correctly fit...
