The price of Thor Sector is mentioned as Rs 3000 at PRS website. Anyways, will check out BikingSpirit store soon, and if it's priced at Rs 1600, will get it then and there! Else will wait for Cramster to re-stock their knee guards.

Price in PRS is always too high. Thor Sector is only $14 in US websites. That's only ~Rs850. Best way is to get it through someone from US.Originally posted by soumya_digi View PostThe price of Thor Sector is mentioned as Rs 3000 at PRS website.Ooty solo trip | Kodaikanal (3 days) | Bekal-Kannur-Ooty | Valparai-Munnar

Can you please help me out; my basic requirements are following:
-It should be waterproof - No glove is 100% waterproof. In fact, budget gloves are slightly water resistant and water would seep inside in no time in heavy rain. Use surgical gloves inside to keep hands dry.
- Should be full hand and probably a strap in the wrist for snug fit(I think it is called gauntlet but not sure - Yes, its called gauntlet. Quite a few semi/full gauntlet gloves are available.
- Should be non water absorbing - explained above.
- Should be comfortable for long rides with decent palm and knuckle protection - Take a look at Spartan/Rynox/Cramster and try them on before buying.
- Thoda sasta ho to acha hoga(I am reacently married - Well, congrats for tying the knot and save funds. Gloves start from 1600 odd rupees IIRC and go further up.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Need help to choose waterproof gloves
I had tried Hyperion Medium size and it seemed that I need small size but unfortunately there is no Small size in Hyperion. I loved its protection and styling compared to Helios.
What would be the alternatives to Hyperion Small size? I am looking for good protection just like Hyperion and also attractive looks. I would settle down with Helios if I don't find any other options.Last edited by enli_; 05-27-2014, 11:00 PM.

Thanks DivyaSharan bro for your time and kind help. I will definately give the try to the brands you have suggested. Surgical gloves is awsome idea... I can use them under my normal gloves when raining and remove it when dry for now.

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Hello riders.
I want to buy a pair of gloves which I can use in monsoon as well as other season.
I am well aware that no gloves are as such multipurpose.
But I've read in some forum that dsg gloves can withstand monsoon season undoubtedly even though they are leather constructed.
(I don't know how far this is truth)
But please suggest me good pair of gloves for about Rs.2500.
I've sorted DSG revive due to its rigid and good quality construction. What do you all say?
And please tell how does the balaclava helps while riding?
Thank you.

Look at Spartan Pro Gear offerings as well. Revive is a good choice nevertheless. A biker mate uses one but recently signs of wear & tear was noticed. This is inevitable after a point of time but he states that he got his sooner than later.Originally posted by punisherkunal View PostHello riders.

Balaclava essentially absorbs the sweat and keeps you comfortable. It also aids in anti-fogging and keeps the interiors of the helmet clean in the process. The level of quality and the subsequent effectiveness varies based on the material &/or cost.BENEATH THE REMAINS.........

I am planning to buy MotoTech Storm balaclava, it states 97% cotton and 3% lycra.
Talking about gloves I too felt that SPG are better than dsg regarding quality and durability.
So I am confused between Spg pegasus and phaeton.
I am going to buy gloves today.
Both seems good but need expert advise

You mentioned that you used pegasus in monsoon, didn't it get soaked in water?Originally posted by krish2778 View PostMate i have seen the rynox gears, but not used it, somehow it doesn't give that good feeling while looking at it, it might just be a individual thing and is in no way valid as a review. But in case of pegasus i can say with full satisfaction , if you are looking for comfort and ventilation and good protection then the Pegasus is a very good choice, though it is basically a city gloves, i have used it for touring and has served me well, even in the munnar monsoons..!! So you can get an idea.
But it wouldn't be fair to push off rynox, do wait around and see if any one else has any reviews, and make the right decision.

And what are the after use maintenance for gloves after being riding in the rain if they are leather constructed?

It isn't pegasus or phaeton but the review might help; even talks about wet conditions. Check this - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...periences.htmlBENEATH THE REMAINS.........

If you read the other posts too that i have written, i did mention that it got fully wet and cold after about 30 min in rain.
Yes, leather do tend to crack up when it is used in rains, but it depends on how well you can maintain the leather, dru it in a cool area without direct sunlight, then use olive oil or leather conditioners to polish it back and maintain it well,
Its been 2 years now, been using it in rain too, maintaining it also, still without any cracks or so.
Cheers

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
I visited DSG shop in Pune to try out Alpinestars jackets. Tried Fending Air WR black and also black-red combination. I loved its snug fit and look-and-feel. I guess it doesn't have good back protectors like Helios or Hyperion.
Anybody has this Fending Air WR jacket which is said to be Water Resistant. I need jacket for the upcoming rainy season and asked the dealer about the same and he said that many folks from Mumbai bought this one, considering the heavy rains of Mumbai. He also mentioned that this jacket is not water proof, but water resistant. The rain water may sip through the neck area. Any comments about this jacket? Price is 12k if I remember correctly.

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Hey guys.
Has anyone tried using viaterra claw on r15 v1 ? Is it an easy fit ?
Also need pointers for knee guards in the range 3-4k. I was thinking of going for Spartan Perseus.
Also, i do not have the option to checking it personally, so have to order online.
Please advise, thanks

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
In internal Knee guards, both the Knox flex lite though they seem to be available at shops but not online & Spartan Perseus are good & you will find both pictures & reviews if you search the thread & both retail between 2-3k though have to check the prices again but they are very light, feel comfortable & you can almost wear them the entire day without much discomfort as they probably come in an universal size & surround your knee like a sock therefore providing 70% protectionOriginally posted by joshi.varun91 View PostHey guys.

In external knee guards, you can try Thor/Cramster/Zeus knee guards but dunno about reviews for Zeus but people have submitted reviews for both Thor quadrant/sector & Cramster knee guards.
For Vierra Claw, i suggest to search the thread as some peole have posted their experience that could help
