  • Hey, all! Stopping by just briefly

I've been away a while, and unfortunately will be away a bit longer. However, I do need to clear out the closet a bit, so I've posted an ad over in the classifieds, where I am selling my riding gear.

They don't stop water seeping inside if you keep your foot in flowing water. That will be a big problem if you are riding in a stop and go traffic and if you are riding to places like ladakh,.

Buy Knee Guard keeping in mind that those FOX and others will Scratch your tank on both side. And make it look worse if it's a metal tank like Pulsar.

So better wear and try on your Bike before Paying money. Or look for some alternative to save that area from scratches.

            Anyone got any clues yet?

I liked the icarus, especially its price given the features.Had almost picked it up but decided to wait for the helios size M.
There is a confusion now. I liked the icarus so much that I am trying to convince myself to but it over the helios. So I decided, to lookup the net to check if the knox armour in the helios are that good to demand the premium.
As it turns out, the flexiform armour supplied in the helios is a very good armour only allowing around 25kn whereas the standard allows 35 kn. BUT it is still level 1 armour.
            http://www.planet-knox.com/en/produc...ector-part-48/

Its PU too like the one coming with the icarus. If it were level 2, I would havent given a 2nd thought but since its level 1, I want to understand how much better it is than the PU armour in the icarus.
Problem is the branding on the jacket doesnt even mention CE rated armour, although the armor itself does have CE 1621-1 type b engraved, but hiw do we check the level. The spartan site also doesnt tell us the make of the armor. Is it powertector like what rjays swift comes with? Can someone pointout the tech spec of the armor pls? @sunnysideup?

              • Riding Boots Suggestions

Hello Guys, Can someone suggest me some good waterproof riding boots under 13K ?

I have thought of Puma Brutale but came to know that they are no longer in production. Now am left with Puma Bonneville and ONeal Element boots but am confused in picking one. There are no reviews about these boots in our xBhp threads too, so finding it heard to choose one.

Need some suggestions from your end... If you have other options please suggest me

For starters, Revzilla will only process direct international orders if the total excluding taxes and shipping is over USD$300. Unless the helmet you're buying is something like a Shoei or Arai, you're probably going to have to use one of the landed-price international buying companies, like iShopInternational, ShopYourWorld, 20North, Cart2India etc. These companies will handle all the customs and shipping details, and will give you a final price for your purchase including shipping etc. Be aware that the final price will be just about double the cost of the items you ordered.

Do your research first on these companies, and make sure you are comfortable with the one you choose. For example, I bought some non-motorcycle stuff a while back, and iShopInternational couldn't do the purchase. ShopYourWorld ended up taking nearly 6 months to actually get my order, and the company I was buying from eventually refused to deal with them anymore, so I ended up only getting half of the items I wanted. 20North and Cart2India are supposed to be better, but I can't say for sure. Both places had incomplete websites last time I checked with them, and both are somewhat more expensive, though they both have better reputations for reliability than ShopYourWorld. Check around for customer reviews (especially ones posted somewhere other than the company's website, such as MouthShut; keep in mind though that you're going to see lots of negatives for anyone, because happy customers rarely say anything). Once you have the third-party buyer picked out, contact Revzilla and let them know what you're trying to do, and that you'll be using a third-party intermediary to handle the purchase. That way they'll be ready for the order. If you can get a name from someone at the buying company that you can give to Revzilla as a point of contact for your order, that will help.

If your order is expensive enough for Revzilla to process it directly, you'll have to contact the customs office for your state and get all the details for the paperwork and the import process. You may need to get some kind of affadavit that you're importing the items for personal use. Expect to end up paying more than double the cost of your items once you've paid for shipping and all the customs fees India charges. I also tried this route one time for some gloves, and it was an enormous hassle; at one point the gloves I ordered were sent back by customs because they weren't sure the shipping papers were correct, and they didn't tell me about it until I had gone to them to find out what was taking my order so long to arrive.

Wow ! THanks for the detailed info. I was interested in buying a helmet for 255 and a glove for 80 and total with shipping came upto $395.
Guess from your advice, I should avoid the idea and save myself from the hassles that are bound to happen.

Concise article. Would love to see more folks read articles like these before they venture into purchasing stuffs abroad. Lots of questions arise, w.r.t the same on numerous threads. Will try to add this info in the first page.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I've used MotorcycleGear.com extensively and have had a great experience each time. They ship to India using USPS. Unknown to the world, Indiapost has am international mail tracker and you know exactly where the parcel is. The only thing is that the duty levied by customs is arbitrary. On one $120 order, I had to pay 3k duty and on another $120 order I paid 800 rupees. So be mindful of that.

I didn't need any special import clearance or anything. Maybe that would have cut down the cost of the duty. Also ordered stuff on Amazon but the vendor used fedex and that was much faster (2 days) and I didn't have to pay any duty additional. Just that shipping cost was as expensive as the cost of what I ordered.
