thanks a lot mate for the link, i didnt know of this store in delhi..yeah he has it (komine pk708)..at Rs 12500 it's very reasonable...will very likely buy it within a month or two..

recently trackbreed (a new bangalore-based initiative and i think associated to the let's gear up store there) has come up with separate leather jacket and pants with sliders and CE certified protection etc and the pant separately costs 16500 (and jacket 19500, full 2-piece suit 36000)..while that is a reasonable cost as well considering they are the first ones i ever came to know who offer the two pieces separately, leathers will be very uncomfortable in real life except perhaps in winter and i dont have any race track around that i can visit every now and again to need leathers so necessarily (and before this trackbreed's 2-piece whose two pieces can be bought separately, i never saw any other small or major brands offering anything other than a full one-piece race suit and those cost way too much unless one frequents the tracks several times a month/year)...hence why i, and i guess many others, have been looking for sliders attached textile/non-leather riding pants with some proper protection incorporated...

Cramster have 1 piece riding suit at 35k approx, but again its on order. Then AGV Sport have suits in less range, and are quite popular here with sbk track goers.
But I have seen the size difference for every suit differs. When my friend was getting his blizzard, he went for customized fitting so that on track its easy for him.

^^ cramster and dsg have suits of about 35000, and one of the AGVs costs about the same as well..i dont think i have ever seen any suit less than 30-32k or so, not that i could buy a 30k one either.

and in any case, leathers are not practical and comfortable for regular use in real life, certainly not in non-winter times, unless one frequents the tracks regularly which unfortunately isn't the case with me and most people.

Last friday got a armoured textile jacket from moto gear .. Valentino Rossi edition actual cost was 4.8k got a bargain for 4.5k ... Did a 640 km trip that day itself .. Found the jacket to be performing excellently in rains and drys up faster .. Between any idea if motogear is good ?? just picked up as motogear and spartan were the only ones ready stock in my city ... Any one here owns a motogear ??

I haven't heard about Motogear earlier but a Google search led me to an understanding that it's a part of the Nolan group. Now if it's the same dough, nothing like it; but the price tag point towards a suspicion. Nonetheless, it should do the job.

PS - The Motogear logo looks a lot like DSG Gear logo *confused*

Between i was stuck either between this and the icarus plus a few other alternatives from motogear but had too much white (gets dirty) .. Tried them all but loved the fit of VR46 ... Should have picked the spartan icarus my bad thot motogear was a heard brand ...

Therefore it is advised to research a bit initially, but the availability of time and accessibility to internet is uncertain: Agreed!
If you aren't into tracks & corners, then it should pretty much deliver its fundamental functionality - It is still better than plain jackets & banyans.

In any case, once you are through that initial experience and have spent enough time with gears, the next upgrade will definitely be more sensible. Till then, ride sensibly & ride safe.

I personally liked it though! (*VR46*)

I have RJays pants, but I don't think they'll protect my shin and other part of the leg in case of an accident. Have seen one guy's leg badly injured in the shin area (broken tibia), despite wearing riding pants (which sadly had only a knee guard) and riding boots.

What is the best option to protect legs?

I am sorry to bear bad news but am pretty certain that you've been ripped off. Dainese/AGV have international copyrights on the VR46 logo and design and the fact that this jacket design is a clone of a genuine Dainese jacket, pretty much nails the coffin shut. Also as observed, they've even cloned the DSG font for their logotype, indicating a serious lack of design input. European company? I'm thinking closer to home!

Riding gear never protects you against all injuries. They help reduce your medical bills and injuries to an extent. Moreover, bones break when they come in contact with the tarmac at awkward angles. I, for instance dislocated my arm because I tried cushioning my fall at high speed. I don't have a single scratch on my body courtesy my gear which got torn, but I'm recovering from the few fractures and dislocation I suffered.

I know that Divya, but the injuries my friend suffered could have been averted to a large extent if he was protected at the right spots. The doctors said so. His hip and shin bones wouldn't have cracked had there been a protection in place there.

Even a well protected and successful rider may not escape some accidents unscathed, but it's best to care of as many weak spots as possible.

Looks like a high quality knock off of the DIANESE VR46 jacket (23K @ DIANESE store)!
Hope it's protection is satisfactory !
