From what i noticed, ADVbreed had nice armor around the shoulders and elbows but they seemed uselessly thin around the rest of the body, so i don't know how good their abrasion resistance would be.
Having said that, they looked good and body hugging.

    Any more information?
Been using it since 2 weeks. i have not used helios, so i will compare it with nero. nero had thicker material (probably 50% more thicker) in the chest area. but that caused too much heat inside. ADV has mesh in the front, makes it comfortable and breathable. other than that i didnt find anything else. if u have a budget of 7.5k then go for it.

I am looking for riding boots and all the big names (A*s, Dainese) boots are costly.. Anyways I would like to go ahead with purchasing them instead of opting for VFM boots. Here are my requirements
    1. Should be usable for everyday ride.. I do not prefer the racing boots
    2. Preferably waterproof and also should be comfortable for Bangalore temperatures (32-34 deg C)
    3. Should have good ankle (both medial and lateral)/toe/heel protection.. Shin protection preferable (this adds to costs again )

Based on my above requirements I have shortlisted the below boots
    1. AlpineStars SMX3 - 15K INR - My foot is a bit wide and I find size 43 okay. It doesn't have good lateral ankle protection or shin protection.. Otherwise its a great boot I feel
    2. Dainese asphalt C2B - 17K INR - not waterproof but really comfortable has good ankle protection (lateral and medial). However no shin protection. Doesnt do much to arrest any lateral movement of feet.
    3. Dainese nighthawk c2 goretex - 17K INR - I have not tried these but I heard these are waterproof, not good for temperatures above 90degF.. Heard it has nylon inserts at ankle(lateral and medial) and also has a shin protector

I am unable to choose between the above 3 products.. Suggestions on above products / alternate options will be really helpful ...
i read that you dont mind spending on those boots but did u check MotoGear Track Master Boots and ADV BREED ankle length riding boots.?

      Hello
For your budget following are some options

      Jacket (Cramster-Breezer/ Solace-Sprint)
      Gloves (Rynox/Spartan Pegasus/Solace-Bravo)
Helmet (SOL & so many other options)
Knee Guards (Solace/Cramster) which comes in your budget with quality.
Shoes (Shoes are quite costlier.... but still Solace's Kinetic shoes you can see.6.7k

Great thread here, with some terrific info and personal experiences to help people make informed decisions.
        Thanks for the community XBHP.

Now, I'm looking for gear at the moment, starting with a jacket.

I saw that the Alpinestars range starts from 12-13K while other good jackets from brands like Spartan Aspida, DSG start around 4-7K (as pointed out in that detailed comparison a few posts above). I also saw the ADVBreed jacket and I agree that it looks good as hell, but I'd be afraid of severe road rash on even a tiny fall.

        So a few questions:

        1. What's the difference in the levels of protection offered by Alpinestars vs the rest? I'd hate to splurge for the name only to end up learning later that I could've saved 5K if I'd researched better.

        2. Anyone with experiences of falling with mesh jackets on out there? Did you fall on it? How long did the fabric last?

        3. From what I've learned, in terms of abrasion resistance, Leather > textile > mesh. Unfortunately, the order is the same for temperature, and price too. People with experience (or just info) on leather:

3a. Is leather tolerable in Bangalore (perforated)?
3b. If you bought leather, are you happy with the premium you paid, or will your next buy be non leather?
3c. Any shops selling leather jackets in Bangalore? Price?

My jacket budget is slightly flexible, but mainly around 5-8K. (I've tried Let's Gear Up, Orion Motors so far) Please recommend. Thanks and have a revy good day.

          Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy an touring styled jacket. I have come across only K2K from Cramster and Apollo by Zeus, and they both seem to have some problem in the quality(?)..You could also suggest any other jacket and from what I read here, seems like spartan is the best bet(?). Please advise and suggest.

          Thanks!

Hi Guys. I have recently joined the XBhp and am really thankful to the insights provided by all the gurus here which has helped me in choosing my gear.

I have decided to start touring on my Yamaha FZ-S. I will be soon riding solo from Bangalore to Kolkata. This will be my first long-distance ride so purchasing the right gear is the first thing that I am doing. ( Til now I was riding wearing just my LS2 HELMET and Pro-biker gloves )

Till now I have purchased the TBG ADV Jacket and the TBG Sport Gloves from Let's Gear up. The jacket is bit bulky but really good. Breaking-in into the gloves as of now.

I don't have money left to buy the riding pants . So for knee protection I am thinking of buying knee guards. After a year or so, I will eventually be buying the riding pants so I don't want to splurge on the knee guards right now. My budget is 3.5k max. Can someone please tell me which will be the best knee guards to buy in this range?

I am not sure how much protection will the Spartan Perseus knee pads provide. Should I go for the Thor Quadrant knee guards or the Alpinestars Vapor Knee Protectors ? Or any other knee-guards? Kindly suggest.

Moto gear Track master boots are not available with Motostore. I brought one about 3 months back. But recently as per their FB page they stopped reselling it due to non availability. TBG boots are available with Lets gear up, HSR Lay out.

                        1. Studds shifter
                        2. Vega axor
                        3. KYT RC7 provent

These three comes under your budget but if you increase your budget slightly you will get option of kranos and entry level LS2 helmet.

I think 58cm comes under medium size but try it. Regarding KYT and mt kranos i think mt kranos is slightly better than KYT although i use KYT its good but padding material is slightly rough.

.how is the fit of kyt ?? Should we buy a helmet tighter than our initial try when its just snug fit.?does the padding gets very thin on usage or is it a negligible reduction? What do u think of studds scorpion?
