Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Well, this is rather embarrassing, but although I can save up and buy a better jacket, but explaining why I "blew up so much cash on another jacket when I already have one (the DSG Triton" to my parents is going to be next to impossible, even though it's going to be from my own earnings. Plus, I want to buy myself a decent pair of knee guards that don't go much into the TBG boots I recently purchased, so I have to somehow keep the total expense within 10k to stay on good books with my parents or they might start hating my girlfriend (my beloved Ceeber) for being too expensive!Originally posted by somenath1061 View Post

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
SPG Atlas is I guess for 4500/- but it does not come with a Thermal liner while the DSG Evo come with a Thermal liner at around 500/- extra.Originally posted by joelgreen View PostThanks for the quick reply.
I did consider the Evo, but doesn't the SPG Atlas defeat this at a better price point?
However the Atlas has a better back protector the Evo literally a Foam insertion.
You might as well consider the Rynox Air GT it comes with a Thermal Liner, Rain Liner and CE approved Armors at Elbow shoulder and Back @ 5550/-.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Got myself a pair of Aspida Proteus riding pants from Biking spirit. Tried out the M size first which felt really tight at the waist (even with the velcro adjusters) the L was more comfortable. Am 5'9 and weigh 85 kgs
Wear 36 inch trousers and the L size on these riding pants read 36 inches
The pants felt comfy and snug while riding but would have liked the knee armors to be tighter around my knees. While they are not slipping around while riding (I ride a R15 which helps
) I feel they should be tighter all the time. Think these pants could have had velcro fasteners above and below the knees to keep the job nice and tight.
I also got a pair of skin tight synthetic inners and am wearing them beneath my riding pants.
Would wearing an additional pair of knee pads help in this case?

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Hello everyone I am new to this forum I have an rc200 been six months I wear normal textile jacket while riding to my collage as I don't have riding gear. I keep my jacket in my bag but I cannot accommodate the riding jacket in my bag. So I had dropped the idea of buying one. But now after seeing my friends fall and scrapping their hands I think it's time to buy one.
There is alot of experience here so all the valuable advice, thoughts, reviews will be helpful for buying a jacket.
I am on a budget of 10k.
And want to wear it on all seasons..
Needs to be lightweight.
Waterproof.
Removable lining.
The main thing should provide very good protection without any compromise.
Good quality and durable. ( as I am a student can't afford it multiple times).
I have selected a few but I have very little info on how they are if anyone could shed light on them
1. Spartan Aspida Helios
2. AGV Solare
Of there are better once please do let me know. And where to buy them preferably.
I am from Bangalore.
Thank you in advance.Last edited by Shahreyar Najeeb; 02-02-2016, 10:56 AM.

you are from bangalore then you have good options with you.
your budget is also fine.
1) solace defender waterproof jacket- it comes with SAS-TEC level 2 armors at elbow & shoulder price is 6850 check the link below,
Defender/Black With SAS-TEC
2) rynox tornado pro - it comes with knox level - 1 armors at elbow & shoulder price is 7099,
Tornado Pro Jacket - Motorcycle Jacket - Product
3) tbg adv breed jacket comes with SAS-TEC armors, it is a mesh one price is around 8000 don't know exactly as i heard it is increased a bit up to 1000k more
Sorry as they don't have website so not much information.
i would suggest you to look out for both solace defender & rynox tornado pro because as per my view these are the only jackets which
comes with greater protection but both of them are competitive in pricing. tbg also good option but quite expensive, but you have good budget you can look
into it as well.
apart from these spartan Helios is also good option, but the after sale service is not that good, very strict, yes of course its a well known brand but
after sale service is most important. it is a mesh jacket although comes with knox level 1 armors at elbow & shoulder but price is 7799 little more.
i hope it can be useful to you.
cheers buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got it for 7950 INR a couple of weeks ago. Shipping was +300 I think. You can find a pretty good review of it in this forum.Originally posted by shamasrohit View Post

dude for your budget you have 2 options which is good when it comes to quality but with reasonable pricing,
rynox air gt mesh jacket, removable liners (i.e. thermal & rain) ce approved armors & not foam insertion @ 5550
solace sprint mesh jacket, removable liners (i.e. thermal & rain) ce approved armors & not foam insertion @ 5600
the only thing is in solace you have four color options. in rynox right now grey color is not available, only orange one is there.
i am using solace sprint for around 10 months or more now, i can say it is a quality jacket with all the required protection.
you can try both these options & as per your comfort & style you can opt. but don't go for something called a foam insertion
instead of ce approved armors, again that also will costs you 4500 approx, so add 1k more to get a riding jacket & not a like riding jacket.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Thanks alot for the info. I looked into tbg and thinking of getting that. But it's not good in rains as I read in a thread. The outer lining gives little or no protection. Any views on that ?Originally posted by shamasrohit View Posthi dude,

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
tbg its a mesh jacket first of all & so that they are providing rain liner which can be wear over it. but in heavy rains how it canOriginally posted by Shahreyar Najeeb View PostThanks alot for the info. protects you its a doubt. as compare to rain liner the reissa protects you better as per my knowledge. of course you also know the
fact that reissa is a brand & this material is breathable & more protective in rain, due to this it is quite expensive as well if you compare to normal
rain liner.
tbg giving this mesh jacket with sas tec armors & well protective panels as well at elbow no doubt the jacket is good one, but at this price of 7950
they should not used low quality rain liner which is of no use in heavy rain. if we are paying little bit more money for more safety & protection then
it should be vfm product.
it will be your choice to opt for it or not as you know it's positive & negative but still i think you check rynox & solace both once. because i feel cheated
when i see the pricing of tbg adv.
this is my personal & genuine views. and i am not a brand loyal person. i am a quality loyal

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
For rain you must get a good old duckback raincoat. Just wear it over jacket. Buy a size or two larger for ease of use. I do the same in Mumbai and so it should hold Bangalore drips and dropsOriginally posted by Shahreyar Najeeb View PostThanks alot for the info. I looked into tbg and thinking of getting that. Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
I went to biking brotherhood here in Mumbai last week and saw the new Revs Tourx (or Tourex) jacket. It was a mesh one with removable thermal and rain liner, with CE rated removable armor. Was quoted for 6.5k. I tried it and it was a good fit and appeared tough. Later I tried to find it online, but didn't get any info. Has anyone bought it yet?
