Now coming to the Air GT. The store guy said it comes with CE rated armor instead of Knox. Rest all features are same as tornado pro. Price is 5500 for it and 7100 for tornado pro. Is the tornado pro really worth 1600 more over the Air GT?

Air GT doesn't have a CE Rated Back protector,
Tornado pro has an Dupont Cordura Reinforcement at impact areas,
TP has Reissa breathable waterproof liner, GT has Water resistant liner.
Both are good jackets but I chose tornado pro because of CE rated back protector and DuPont reinforcement

Thanks! Can you please share how the tornado pro is for daily commuting purpose? I want a light and manageable jacket without compromising on protection. Also did you test the tornado pro in rains? Is the rain liner sufficient?

For rains none of the jacket is sufficient atleast in Mumbai. You must opt for a good old rain coat over the jacket.

Though i don't use it daily i have used it sometimes in peak hour traffic and it was comfortable, The mesh did a great job at providing airflow when you accelerate. I bought it 2 months back so didn't get a chance to test it in rain but from what i've heard its completely waterproof with the liner.

I would recommend you to go for the Asphalt Jacket as it is probably the most light weight jacket available out there with Knox Protection which is much suitable for everyday city rides.

The rain liner is made up of a light weight breathable membrane (Reissa) which is good for city rides for short commuting in monsoon.

I read your review and then only finalized for the Tornado Pro But the store did not have my size. Then I browsed the other options and hence got into confusion.

Can you please tell if the Tornado Pro is effective in rains? In the review you have mentioned that with mild drizzle the TP protects even without the liner, but not mentioned how is the performance in medium to heavy rain with the liner on.

Also, how is it for daily use for commuting? I will wear it without any liner, so will it be light? Or should I got for the Asphalt?

I have used my tornado pro in extreme cold conditions during my ladakh ride and as well as in heavy rains and It did protected me well in both the cases.

Coming to your question about daily commute : If you are riding in stop and go traffic and especially in summer season it is not the jacket to be opted as the airflow will be very low. Where as if you are on highways during summers it will protect you from getting de-hydrated by keeping most of the hot air away from your body.

Will it be light ? : Nope. This jacket is made u of very thick material which will make it heavy but once you get used to it ( like i did ) it doesn't bother.

Asphalt or Tornado ? : It depends on your riding conditions. If you ride more in city( apart from daily commute to office )and only ride on weekends go with Asphalt. If you are like me who love to be more on highway than city go with Tornado. Even Asphalt is good for highways but not as good as Tornado.

I hope i have cleared your doubt.

Rode with the Tornado Pro in heavy torrential rain. Not a simple drop went in.. it is still on the heavier side even without the liners but won't be uncomfortable.

Close ur eyes, Forget about the Asphalt & Air GT, Get the Tornado and Ride into One :P

Aspida Perseus is a knee guard that you can wear under your jeans. It is a bit difficult to get in and out off. And the straps become loose after some use. I've used them to commute to office 6times and I wear them under my jeans all day long. Well there is some discomfort, bu they are okay-ish. They cost around 2600 bucks a pair. They are one universal size only.

Try the Rjays if you could. It's very light weight and can be airy as you are asking for. A perfect city jacket I would say. But it's heavy on the pocket for a city jacket.
