Yes, now I understand what you meant. Thanks much about that point. [emoji1303]

Once upon a time, I used to be pretty active on this thread (this is back in the day when we only had DSG and Cramster, how times have changed!) but in the past few years I have been out of touch with the riding gear scene, especially the offerings from the Indian manufacturers. As a bit of a background, my current riding gear comprises of
      - Shark Race R Pro plus a Nolan N86
      - Alpinestars TGP textile Jacket (with A* chest protector upgrade and a SAS Tech back protector upgrade)
      - AGVSport one piece leathers for track use
      - Alpinestars SP2 gloves
      - Alpinestars SMX2 boots plus SIDI ST Air for track use

I used to ride with a DSG Nero for a few years (what a lovely jacket it was for its time) and then moved to the A* TGP jacket which served me very well in Bangalore. Having moved to a coastal city now, I need a mesh jacket with good protection as the TGP gets me too sweaty. I initially had my eyes on the new Alpinestars Wave jacket that has recently been launched but the high price and level 1 protection put me off. I decided to look at the options from Indian manufacturers and found that the Rynox Storm Evo 2 jacket to be a good option, on paper though I would have liked it to have slightly more areas as mesh. Does anyone have experience with it in a coastal city like Bombay or Madras? Any other recommendations for jackets with CE level 2 protection?

I would not be going for the TBG options since several of my friends and I had issues with the durability of their products. I have purchased quite a bit of gear from Lets Gear Up who are the team behind TBG (2 helmets, above mentioned SAS Tech back protector, gloves etc) but the full gauntlet gloves lasted only for 18 months whereas my earlier purchases like the Cramster TRG2 lasted for more than double that (both in usage as well as time). Many of my friends also faced issues with their TBG jackets and other offerings. Since I am not in Bangalore, it isnt easy for me to head to their store and get stuff replaced / repaired.

I have a defender pro jacket which is good but it was impossible to use it in this summer so went ahead to pick up a Mesh jacket.
Bought the Rynox Storm jacket (Wanted to stay away from Solace due to its Fake Back protector claim which got exposed).
Have been using it for some time now (but almost daily)

Pros: 1) Looks good and different
        2) Very comfortable.
        3) Great protectors- Both Knox at Limbs and the One at the back. All The protectors are Level 2
        4) Removable Chest Protectors (upgradable to CE)
        5) Shoulder slider though not sure how much these sliders help. Have seen this in many jackets these days. Seems like a fad.
        6) Material and Build Quality, craftsmanship is very neat. No stitches dangling and pealing of threads (Comparing it to my older Solace Jacket)

Cons: 1) Less Reflective material at the back
        2) Internal Pocket is not waterproof
        3) The thermal liner cannot be worn separately (My previous jacket had this feature)

All in all a good product.

But for a mesh jacket at that price point it a justified choice, given the options that are currently available.
I am happy with my purchase of the Rynox Jacket, the ventilation especially is awesome.

        Recommended: Yes.

I would let you look at better shell quality instead of the armours here.
Level 1 is more than ready to take impacts, remember a level 1 protector inside a strong shell is better than a level 2 in a weak shell.

Talking about Rynox Storm evo, the jacket may be good, but it still doesn't use the type of mesh or the material you would expect looking at your gears background.

I would suggest you go with Rev'it jacket, mostly a level 2 like the Rev'it Tornado 2. (Seeflex level 2 armour on elbows and shoulder, back insert ready to be replaced by a level 2 seesoft). The material is polyrib with 1000d pwr shell. (Rev'it does not use cordura, and it hardly matters)

PWR is rev'it made own material, their own polyamide blend, which is mostly nylon. Even the mesh is 75d PWR mesh here.

Seeflex armour is totally next generation with great ventilation ! Nothing comes close to that thing in sheer ventilation, costly sure, but the armour is worth it. The weight is a little more, compared to the likes of Sastec armours though.

Another jacket brand you may look at is ScorpionEXO covert flannel jacket or other jackets from them.
Since you will be spending the bucks, look at the material denier, shell quality, look for double safety seam stitch, and the quality of mesh in shell.
Second, look at armour used, since you are buying it for sheer comfort and ventilation, the armour should be light, airy and flexible.

The armour used by Rynox is a knox microlock unit on the shoulder and elbows and a XY on back. Knox is heavy, almost comparable to the likes of seeflex, seesoft while the exact opposite is Sastec used by scorpion (very light), you can try that for yourself, don't believe my words.
          Knox is good armour though.
The XY back protector, I haven't found any reliable sources telling me it's any good, though it passes the CE testing, which arguably many armours do, a little heavier than sastec, since you are already using one, you will know.

You can check bikeratti and zeus darkrider. These are the 2 options. you can check both the denim and make a choice as per your judgment of fit, comfort, and protection.

I would recommend Bikeratti. A friend has been using them. Drop me a pm and I shall help you with it.

It has better material, kevlar inside and D3o armours, that is what impresses me.

No, its not possible to get jacket and pants in Rs. 1000 each, However you can buy Probiker Knee and elbow guards (Rs. 1000 to 1200 for both) , which you can wear over any shirt, Pant or normal jacket, it will provide you atleast minimum amount of safety .. hope it helps.

                              Hi,

I am unable to get Pinlock visor for my MT Revenge. Spartan Progear said they dont have a model which fits it. The show room guy here said its because when you slide the visor up there is not enough gap between the visor and the helmet shell for it to accomodate the Pinlock visor. He recommended the usage of Muc Off anti fog spray. According to him once sprayed the effect will stay for 3 to 4 days. A 30 ml bottle costs Rs. 900.

Has anyone used this product? Want to know the effectiveness...I am in Kochi and with torrential rain these past few weeks, my Sunday rides are at a standstill and when I can, I have to keep the helmet visor open a bit, otherwise it fogss up.

Unfortunately, you won't get a good jacket and pant at that price. However, you can buy a decent one online using EMI option.
You can skip the Pant and go for a Knee guard as it would be affordable than a pant.

MT smartly provides some helmets which are ready for pin-lock. But then these visors are ready for Pinlock30. Now they also provide a helmet which comes with visors ready for pinlock70 and then they do not sell pin lock 70 at all. But when you buy the helmet they will not tell you this.
