First impressions of RE Polar - Very comfortable, easy to live with, lining is really good.
Overall very good gloves for the discounted price !

Raida also doing good with my friend, lining is good on those too.

      Hi,
Not sure if I am barging in:
I have bought the entry level Solace jacket a couple of weeks ago. It is well built and has elbow, shoulder and back guards and on the whole comfortable once it is zipped up. Unfortunately it is much too heavy for me to use on a regular basis, my shoulders start to feel the weight after about half an hour, and I feel tired. I guess it is my ageing frame rather than the jacket which is to blame. Nonetheless can any one suggest a lighter jacket which is also safe. I have already spent almost one quarter the price of my motorbike on the jacket and gloves!

Mods please relocate if I have posted incorrectly

        You meant WP lining right?
If not, how is the WP lining of RE polar?

Sale of non ISI helmets to be banned after two months. Even international brands have to adhere to ISI if they want to sell in India.
But I think international standards are more stringent in their tests than ISI. Correct me if I'm wrong.

              Thanks

I think the government meant to ban low quality cheap helmets. They might not have thought about or have an idea that there are other helmet standards better than ISI.

Or I might be wrong and they just want to impose ISI helmets on the citizens. Which is wrong, it'll be a shame. There is a petition to make the government know about safer helmet standards than ISI.

                  You may try aspida spartan.
Is least costly again..but is light and gets the job done.

                      Hi,
Gear Noob here(Literally the first set of gears I am buying for use). I am confused between the various choices and it would be of immense help if someone could help in narrowing down some of the choices. I am using these only for touring and nothing else.

                      Jackets:
I have narrowed it down to Rynox Tornado and Solace Defender Plus. Aspida has a very bad after sales support and hence rejected it. Both of these are very similar in spec wise(CE 2 for shoulder and elbows, CE 1 for back, rain cover, thermal Liner etc.). Rynox has Knox armor whereas Solace has Sastec. Also Solace is textile while Rynox is mesh(I read here that textile is better since mesh does not help during abrasion but how comfortable hot would textile go due to restricted air flow?). What would be your suggestion? Also if I get get it at a bargain in the Solace Furious Jacket worth looking into(Is it really necessary to spend 2000 extra for Chest protector and CE 2 back protector)? One of the salesperson suggested a Biking Brotherhood jacket, but I felt the armor to be too weak to take on a Ladakh trip. My budget is Rs7,500. Are there any other jackets I can better at these prices? I got to try the Rynox jacket but none of the dealers had the solace at all. Also any thoughts on Rynox air?

                      Gloves:
Again confused between Rynox Apex and Solace Bravo.Full Gauntlet gloves is preferable for me for the safety. I tried the solace gloves and the bits on fingers were rubber. Is somethhing hard better or is this a non issue? Also any other better options? Budget is maximum Rs4000(Would be better if its lower too)

                      Saddle Bags:
Same two brands again(By now you must be thinking I have a weird fetish for these brands.....promise you, I don't). Confused between Rynox Drystack(3500) and Solace Sublime(3500). I have a duke 200 with a saddle stay from Zana International. So, I hope mounting these are not a problem. The rynox has waterproofing built in but I am okay with using a rain cover too. Is there anything else cheaper with around the same carrying capcity of 60lts? Budget I would have it at Rs.3500 but that is because I saw these at that price point. I am inexperienced here and if its is better to go cheaper, please suggest some options.

                      Tail Bags:
I am on the wall on this one. Instead of buying a tail bag,I thought I can use a wildcraft Bag(55lts) that I already have and tie it down with bungee cords. Is it better to go for a tail bag separately or is this enough? If not please suggest some options.

                      Tank Bags:
No idea on this either. I am still searching for some good options. But since my tank is fibre the number of options are very limited(non magnetic) and the brands are almost unheard of. Some suggestions is highly appreciated.

Riding Pants or Bionic Knee Guards:
Again, I am unsure between these two choices. If the price is too high for pants, I would rather happily for with bionic knee guards for now(Budget constraints, you see ). Please suggest some really good budget options for both(But I don't wanna skimp on safety for lesser price).

                      Seats:
Please suggest some good seats for Duke 200(the seat is a pain in the ass....literally). I have searched high and low for one. No luck till now. I saw the Fego Air seat but I am a bit skeptical about spending 2200 for an air seat.

I am trying to keep all these below Rs20000. Is it doable or should I extend the budget?

Thanks a lot for your help.

1- Jacket - Do not go down to Rynox Air. If you can, spend and get the Solace Furious. Those chest protectors cost ₹1900-2000 (Sastec, very ventilated, has 75 holes each side) even when bought aftermarket, back protector level 2 costs ₹2000-2200.

Also Furious has big size protectors, thicker ones.

2- Both are good gloves, rubber is fine.

                        3- Again, both are good.

4- Tail bag - Wildcraft bag is just fine.

5- Get Solace tank bag, really good quality, comes with straps to fit on fibre tanks.

6- If you want knee guards, get ones that fit like gloves, they won't slip in case of a crash. Aspida and Solace have them. Solace has better padding and protection.
Pants is Solace again, only brand with level 2 knee+shin and hip armour from Sastec. Mototech also has it but from Safetech. I would only recommend buying gear with world renowned protectors like Sastec, Powertector, Knox, D3o, Forcefield, A star etc. Do not fall for imitations and fake level 2 armours selling a lot nowadays.

7- Fego is good but pricey. Think on it.

Any suggestions for the bionic knee guard. Whats the price I should shell out(just so that I know what I get)
Fego is costly. But the duke seats are the worst I have ever sat on. The bum burn is so intense after 3 hours that it becomes hell for my bum every minute. So I have no other option but to buy one. I have already tried seat cover, but that didn't seem to work.
For the gloves and saddle bags, are there any cheaper options??

OMG! Fine for not wearing ISI helmet, so this will make all those people wearing DOT, ECE, etc. certified helmets like an idiots (including me).
