    Wear a backpack
There are hardly any options man.... I would say go for the Cramster Turtle coz its way cheaper than DSG Astars... what you could do to reduce the impact would be buy a good stock of 3M scotch tape and apply them on the portion where you will have the magnets to stick, or on the bag itself... give it some kind of padding...!

I used to swear by backpacks.... but not anymore.. the tank bag is much more fun!

      • Its not only the points of contact that are prone to scratching the tank's surface. Its almost the entire area of the tank that comes in contact with the bag.

Almost always there will some amount of dust on the surface of either the bag or tank, that dust is main culprit for causing small scratches that dull out the paint surface.

If you are taping up, tape up as much as possible of the whole tank. But getting the tape off is another issue in itself. Took me 6 hours to get it completely off my tank and rear cowls...

Another option is put a soft cloth on the tank and then put the saddle bag over that, but there is a problem with this too. Firstly it makes the saddlebag prone to slipping around, and getting dust under the cloth on long rides is something that will happen.

Add to that the ability of Magnets to attract small dust and mud grains

Thats why I said 3M Scotch..its easier to remove and doest leave any residue..!

Thanks a lot for the inputs guys! Will avoid those gloves.

@All: Where can i find ProBiker/ DSG Moto Mesh gloves in B'lore?

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

This looks a very good solution to all of the issues.. !! But, what kind of material is that..i read that its "toolbox padding"..would it be available here in local hardware shop..?

@ Praful: This solution looks reliable..in place of all that taping(i had seen that when you had come down to pune)..!

MotoMesh is available at Orion, opposite Forum.

Bought the DSG Nero on Friday in time for a trip to Yercaud. Few thoughts
                  Pros
(+) Very comfortable over long rides (500 kms in 2 days)

(+) Not flashy (which means I can happily wear it to office. Carrying it to my desk is another story in itself)
(+) Kept out whatever the rain gods have thrown at me so far

                  Cons
(-) Fitting at the waist isnt the best
(-) The loop on the inner sleeve to hold the sleeve of the inner waterproof lining has surprisingly come off. Which means that when I remove the jacket the sleeve of the waterproof lining comes out half way.

Overall a big thumbs up despite the tiny couple of niggles. I cannot but strongly recommend a good riding jacket to everyone reading this. After buying one, you will, like me, wonder why on earth you werent sensible enough to buy one earlier.

                  • @ Neil: May be sometime down the line some zippers here and there might start cracking as a lot of owners have already reported this incident.

I know, I know. I read about it. If & when that happens Ill be sure to remember that you reminded me about it .....

Need help here. My friend is impressed by the Nero & wants to get himself a riding jacket. Thing is he doesnt like wearing gloves while riding. So he wants a riding jacket in which he can tighter the bit where his palms are so that air doesnt get in through the sleeves & into the main body of the jacket. Dont think Ive explained it properly but I hope you guys got it. What DSG or Cramster jacket fits the bill ? Oh and he would want it to be a bit waterproof too.

                                Hey aryan,

I've been using this Jacket for more than a month now.

It's the only jacket which fits my build. Fit and comfort is awesome. Stiching and quality is top notch.

Seems a lil heavy to me as this is my first jacket, so can't compare. Have tried the Breezer 1.0 & 2.0. Pulse is lot better than that in terms of Fit.

It comes with a waterproof liner(also called thermoliner) Which is removable. I don't use it cause i stay in chennai.

yeah it really is tough to wear in hot climate.

                                Some pics attached.

Just ask me in case of any particular query.
