  • Glad to be of help aargee.

Save up and get a pair of A* pants to go with the jacket.

Riding pants are similar to the riding jackets. They offer abrasion resistance, some pants have built-in armor and repel water for quite a while.

Seeing Adi & you actively participate in the discussions on one of the threads here, I'm not surprised.

Yes. Basically the jacket should be a snug fit, & the armour shouldn't move around (especially the elbow one).

You do! If someone in Chennai owns the jacket you want, you can check the size.
Else, if you happen to go to Pune sometime, the DSG store there would have the jacket for sure.
I know the 2nd option might not be too likely.

      Tks Nikhil.
      You are welcome bro!
I don't have any idea about riding pants yet. will gain some knowledge once others reply here.

      • Ok, before I make the final order, this is what I've in mind for now...
Abrasion resistance, is quite good actually, but the bionic knee pads from A* costs like a bomb (6.5K atleast) & I'm not sure if A* pants can fit in any other knee pads easily & with so much of negative words on Cramster's knee pads around, I'm not sure what to choose.

So at this point, it's going to be...
        1. Alpinestars T-Breeze Air-Flo Jacket Black - Rs9,499.00
        2. Alpinestars AST-1 Waterproof Riding Pants - Rs7,990.00
        3. DSG Revive Gloves - Rs1,990.00 (My damn Cramster gloves are tearing apart)

Last but not the least, if the above couldn't be materialized, I will settle for DSG Nero Jacket - Rs5,499.00. So that way atleast the gloves & riding jacket will look uniform.

What do you guys think @Nikhil & @Adi?

Bionic knee guards are worn over the pants. You can buy the optional knee guards which fit inside the pant compartments but then i'd strongly advise you to go for the bionic ones... they have a shin protector too.

The above combi looks perfect. The pants will go well with the jacket. Like i mentioned earlier, the revive is not full gauntlet. Fit and feel of the carbon is better (discovered yesterday) but still fully satisfied with revive. Go for the carbon if you are an extensive tourer or else the revive should do the job beautifully.

I like to buy the one that fits inside the pant compartment, but worried about the cost.

What a coincidence? I just started looking at DSG Carbon & you're now recommending it. I somehow feel DSG Nitro to be good looking than all others. What's your take on that?

I'm only confused about the fit like Nikhil says . Mostly L is sufficient, but not sure what L means with DSG & A*.

            Thanks @Adi for your suggestions.

The A* bionic knee guards are available for USD 100 online, & Orion Motors quoted INR 5.5k for it yesterday. Where did you see the 6.5k price?

Bionic knee guards are ones which move with the movement of the joints. Essentially, they have a hinge movement. You can choose to wear them inside or outside the pants. But its better worn outside IMO.

The combination of the riding gear looks great (even with the Nero). Since everything is black, it will go really well together. Just try & figure out if the A* riding pant can be zipped to the T-Breeze jacket (as the description of the jacket says it fits with some riding pants).

                  • Hey Aargee,

Good to see your shopping list ! Couple of thoughts.

Its always better to try out the jackets (like Nikhil pointed out) but I guess it would be difficult to get hold of the T Breeze in madras. Reason Im saying this is because the Orion guys initially said L should do for me but turned out that XL was a proper fit for me. Had I not had the option of trying it out & bought it online I wouldve taken their word for it & gone in for L. The T Breeze is available only in M right now so they will try pushing that onto you.

The jacket mentions "Waist connection zipper allows attachment to selected Alpinestars leather pants". However the pants dont seem to have a zipper. May not make a big difference though.

Wrt the gloves, Ive been using the (dare I mention the name with Aditya around ) C****** TRG2 full gauntlets for a few months now, that too 99% in city usage. I would recommend a full gauntlet pair over a semi gauntlet set any day.

One question - what negative feedback have you heard on the C****** knee guards ? IMO the knee guards are their best product.

@Nikhil - Welcome to the Nero club !
P.S - Any idea what price range the Rjays boots are in ? Last time I went there they only had A* boots.

Well, no pushing business this time. Its either like the chart or size L, I'm not going to compromise & settle like last time I did with Cramster's gloves.

Aah!!! No Crams pls!!! Ok, what's the gauntlet stuff all about & should I necessarily go in for one?

They had only a couple of RJays boots yesterday. The H2O for 7k, & another one for 9k.
The H20 was more functional & nicer to look at than the other. Both were waterproof ones. They just started stocking RJays, & yesterday was the first day it was on display. The boots seem VFM to me.

Yes I meant the A* pants. My take would be the DSG Carbon. Tried them on yesterday and loved it. Have no clue about Nitro and wouldnt want to comment since I havent yet seem them in real.

A* knee guards are available in bionic and non bionic types. The above price is most definitely for the non bionic ones. The bionic ones retail for around 100 USD on the net.

LOL. Dude i have nothing personal against cramster. Its just that i am highly disappointed with their raptor jacket for reasons mentioned earlier. Otherwise for daily use it a nice jacket. Only not too confident riding at triple digit speeds with it. Perfectly fine and understandable that another person is fully satisfied and happy with their products.

I am also hunting around for knee guards and have read mixed reviews on the cramster knee guards. Might as well check them out soon. The A* ones although lovely are a tad expensive for me (considering my overflowing wishlist).

Orion only has the RJays H2O boots and they retail it for 7k. Bachoo motors quotes 5.9k for the same boots. I was tempted to buy it yesterday but held my horses. Want to research a lil more before i splurge. See the end of this post, i have 2 options in mind for the boots and i'm lookin for help in choosing the best one.

DSG is an Indian brand AFAIK. Speak to Mr. Vijay and refer my name. I bought the revive gloves and the motografix TK008 tankpad from him for my ninja. He might remember.

Now i need some help from the experts...

I am looking for waterproof boots (since i cant invest in 2 pairs, i'd rather just buy a waterproof pair) and have zeroed in on the below 2 brands.

                            1. RJays H2O Boots (5.9k INR)

                            2. JoeRocket.com (8.5k INR)

Please review the features and help me decide. I was interested in the Joe Rocket but the RJays H2O seems to be better in terms of protection (i'm not too much into looks, protection matters more for me).

That's a good news; I'll check out if the non bionic ones are cheaper, they should still do the job right? Bionic is way too expensive here retailing around 6.7K if I'm not wrong.

Still Mr.Vijay hasn't called back (his 10 minutes ); once he calls back, I'll post an update here.

Have read horror story type reviews about shopping on ICCworld.

Moreover sizing issues come into play and then you pay for shipping and duty most probably. Possible to get imported jackets for 5k and below?

Have you personally bought anything from ICCworld?
