Very much valid & strongly agree; anyway let me see how things go. But somehow, I'm more biased towards A*, may be its their brand or finishing or quality whatever, I'm more inclined towards it.

Aaah!!! Sheel - I've done all sort of communication except for sending an inland letter or post card

    Email - No response
    Phone - No response
Call them between 13:00 & 15:30, you get a response that everyone's gone for lunch!!!

See the link I provided on my post above; finally they promised me to send me an email which I'm yet to get & its more than 24 hours over. I guess my orders are worth peanuts for them!!!

Yeah, I've good opinion on JR too; but since DSG doesn't stock them up, I can't see unless I visit Orion which is 350 odd Kms from Chennai.

I always get a reply from DSG within 5 mins(I have always mailed them between 10-5, daytime), dunno whats wrong, but phones..., maybe they are too busy and anyways its a seller's market, few of my friends are working on it, once done, you people should know about it

^^I flew 2000+kms to get riding gears, 350x2=700? Would have rode, got my gear and rode back again.

Well, what was the price of the gears you bought? Did you buy for track or streets or both? I want one for street & everyday use

Sorry, I need to provide an update here guys; I called up Kochi & Mr.Sabu was ready to ship me the following immediately
        1. DSG Nero
        2. Cramster Velocity 3.0

May be a week later he would ship me DSG Revive; Sorry Adi, I felt Revive was more appealing in looks than the Carbon.

What do you guys think? Is this a long lasting combination?

        • Hi argee

Seems like u hav done an extensive study and hav zeroed on your gears finally..
I hav only a little idea on the gears apart frm the knowledge gained frm these threads... Can you help me out by giving the details on ur gear, their cost and the mode to get them (i am from chennai as well) There isn a one stop shop here.. is ther?

I am plannin to get a good pair of gloves atleast as quick as possible... but the entire gear is always on the cards
Smoke Rubber - But beware its even more addictive...

            Jacket-13.5K
            Riding Pants--10 or 10.5K

There's a meet on Sunday morning & you may want to join & we can have a good discussion about this instead of you going through all the few hundred pages here - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/xbhp-off...tml#post511307

Hahaha...see I'd assumed it. C'mon man, to buy a puny little riding gears, which all put together costs less than the price of your helmet , do you want me to make 350+350 Kms trip?

Anyway, we're going too much OT. I think patience pays; like Adi says, A* is the one to get & treasure for lifetime (incase there're no incidents) otherwise it should do its job faithfully

No point in compromising on things right?

I don't think we are going OT

I myself do not believe I spent 32K at PRS in one evening. 32K is a big amount aarge.

I could have bought another set and definitely a good replica Helmet had I been staying in metros. Its too hard to save up and rush. Making them both meet is highly improbable and you got to sacrifice to do/get it.

Many people I know have a fetish for some parts of Motorcycle or something related to Motorcycles. Tires/bling jobs/riding gear/helmet, the list goes on...

Guys spend on mobile-phones, gaming and wot not, at least I know I fare better

Thats a steep sum for an evening of motorcycle apparel shopping!!
But the good thing is that its a medium-long term investment.

It is a long term investment, as I believe I have come to a level where I ride defensively and really hope I won't crash.
I used to believe in-- If you aren't crashing, you aren't riding hard enough'
Well that phrase is a past for me. But if anyday my guardian angel deserts me, may be the riding-gear will save me.

                    Smart one that.

Yap; well, I would spend the same or more, but not in one shot. May be in course of several months I might land up buying them. Once BlueVolt said, you've got to get the best.

As you said, the replicas will always be in the back of the mind even when people appreciate seeing you having the best. You'd never get to know the meaning of the word "Satisfaction" unless the originals have been bought.

Well, I guess they do it because, no one understands the importance of gear. Until I joined this community, I was prepared to loose biking (which I love) & buy better car as I thought it was safe. No doubt cars are more safe, but with gears biking can also be safer.

Haha...few of them spend on pack of cigarattes & keep running their ride in reserve always. They don't hesitate to push when their vehicle runs out of gas. How do you account that ?

I agree with you. I think I should not compromise. But you see this is how it goes...
Monday - I call up no response
Tuesday - Yes a response, but never got back as promised
                      Wednesday - No response
Thursday - There's a response, but there's no black color that was available on Monday. C'mon whose fault is it?

I would have been happy had they replied back saying that they don't have stocks and would follow up on you once they replenish their stock, but this isn't done and IMO they don't deserve your business.

I regret not staying in a metro or abroad only because I wish I could have access to good gear and Motorcycles.

You're absolutely right. I haven't lost patience yet ; let me talk to people in Kochi, they seem to respond well. He told me upfront that he has to get it from Pune & also hinted about the lethargic nature of people over there. He was eager to give me DSG Nero & Cramster which he had in stock & waive off courier charges for any inconvenience for not stocking A*. So let me give them a chance, besides wearing the one you love only will push you to keep riding everyday isn't it?

                          • Got myself some basic riding gears today from Karol Bagh.

                            Gloves - Probiker - Rs450
                            Knee guards - Scoyco K11 - Rs1100
                            Balaclava - Scoyco - Rs120

Personally I've seen Fox, Axo and KTM knee+elbow guards, and they come nowhere to the quality of the Scoyco K11 knee guard. Also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Bhavishya Devgun of Rawadventures.co.in and that guy is truly awesome, he is a passionate biker like us guys with innumerable tours all over india. As for his products, his stuff don't cost anything more than the ones available in the market and the quality is faar faar better. I've decided to go in for the Scoyco JK17 riding jacket and will buy it the day it comes in stock.

The only thing I'd like to mention is that the K11 scoyco comes with only the knee guards, i.e. elbow guards are not a part of the bundle. This is not a problem for a guy who uses a riding jacket as elbows are covered with the jacket armour but for someone looking only for the knee+elbow guard combo, the k11 won't be apt. Although the K10 is a worthy option to look at

A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.
