I've told you, they are expensive. The RJays and DSGs you get here offer better VFM than the 4500 wala jacket. Trust me.

The other stores will be similarly priced. Google them or check out ebay.

Honestly I need to have a decent Jacket & good Full Gloves.
Both must be all weather all terrain.

Suggestion required.
Previously used one Pro Biker Full gloves for last six months.
Almost torn due to friction in the Left hand and may not be used in some days.

I have the Octane, had it for around a month, it's pretty decent for the price, it has a large back protector, can't find any CE markings on the back protector though. The sizing is very accurate, the elbow guard comes just shy of the wrist, where a gauntlet would take over, shoulder pads are there, pretty comfortable. I recommend this jacket, if you order from the US, you may get better VFM as there is a lot of choice with other brands, closeouts are best and you can always order via ICCWorld, back to the Octane, the fit and finish is nice, made in China and the armour is from Korea with CE rating, except the back protector, the main reason I bought the jacket was because I was expecting Knox armour, so I was a little dissapointed that it had changed, I also wanted CE approved back/spine protection.

7/10 from me, remember that a mesh jacket will always be a compromise, but then again, we don't really ride/drive very fast anyway. If you can find a perforated leather jacket, at a descent price, it will be much better.

1. Mostly City riding but planning for touring with my WIFE.
2. Gloves around Rs 1200/- Jackets around Rs 4000/-
3. Products from MOTORCYCLE SUPERSTORE have interested me for both variety & price. No bias against DSG or R-JAYs or CRAMSTER
4. Must be all terrain but not chilly winter. May be 08-10 degrees Celsius @ max.

Fundamentally I must try and see the comfort level before buying.
To be precise budget can be extended.

The rule of budget is simple if analysed cost per month.
Rs 100 for gloves
Rs 200 for helmets
Rs 200 for jackets

Mostly we change gears after every THREE FOUR years with a VEHICLE change.

Keep an eye on bikebandit.com and sportbiketrackgear.com. They have a very good collection of gear and ship international too.
You can also take a look at motoliberty.com. Have got my jacket from them, and its supremely comfortable to ride in the harsh weather of Kolkata. Will be getting Alpinestar gloves from the US soon. Take a look at the Astar 3/4 gloves or the SMX2 Air Carbon gloves.

Gloves are in order of my preference. Though No-3 is preferred but since need to be shipped online there is a risk involved.

My friend - there is no such thing as "all-weather".

If you buy waterproof gloves with thermal insulation, they will be very hot to wear in the hot summer. Likewise if you buy mesh/ventilated gloves which are suitable for summer, they will not work in the rains. This simple logic applies to all apparel.

You don't wear a rain-coat in summer or light cottons in the winter, right? Same logic applies here - if you want proper gear, you have to buy what is suitable for the conditions that you are going to use them in.

"All-weather" in the Indian context is bunkum and is terminology used to sell goods by unscrupulous vendors to the gullible public.

I often see members proudly claiming their products to be water-proof - which if it really is water-proof also means air-tight and unbearable in the hot summer. Even advanced 'breathable' membranes like Gore-Tex only work if the ambient humidity is low, allowing the moisture from the inside to vent to the drier air outside. If as in most of our cities, the humidity is above 60%, this technology will not work!

I have a friend - a fellow XBHPian who bought a 'water-proof' jacket from a popular brand and almost passed out from over-heating during the hot weather! Another bought water-proof Gore-Tex lined boots which he removes whenever we stop for even a loo/smoke break because of the extreme discomfort. He is constantly the butt of our jokes for walking around bare-feet at stops!

Of course if it rains for the most part of the year in the place where you live, then owning a set of such gear makes sense - but what will you do in the peak of our summer?

If you live in a city with extremes, like Chennai (where I live) its necessary that you get two sets of gear - one for hot weather which means well-ventilated and the other for rain, which means water-proof.

OR you could do like most Chennai Xbhpians do - buy ventilated gear which will serve most of the year and a good set of waterproof coveralls which can be worn over the regular gear. You even get these slip-on waterproof covers for gloves too.

Just my 2 cents. Cheers!

What I usually do is use my mesh jacket and if it rains, cover up with a poncho.. has worked for me last year...

If you are talking specifically about gloves. This may be true. As I cannot imagine a glove having a removable water proof inner liner. BUT, There are all weather jackets. Mesh, with 100% water proof removable inner liner. remove inner liner during hot weather, put them back during rainy and cold weather. Simple. I use one.

Yes, I know the difference between water resistance and water proof. My inner liner is water proof. Also, I'm aware most shops markets water resistance jackets as water proof.
