    • Lol Prince . See what I told you on shipping!!!

Its a good option to ask someone to bring it from US & taxes depends upon the time of the flight & the customs checking ppl at airport (most importantly their mood ) But again, remember what I said before, if your size doesn't fit or worst case, if there's a manufacturing defect, you're doomed!!!

My suggestion - Just close your eyes & order it from Bachoo or PRS. You know for sure they don't sell fake stuff, they've good experience with Indian customers, you get for what you're paying & there's a return policy. All the more, you're getting your stuffs for the price of what's listed in $ in US websites (ofcourse, without the discount)

Point - Just to save a few dollars, don't land up in mess, its not worth.

      • One small tip

In case your summer gear like gloves gets wet and you need to dry it within a night, try this.

        - Take a lot of crumpled news paper and put inside the gloves (or jacket or anything). Do not stuff it to the brim but be judicious.
        - Put one or two layers of newspaper on the floor and put your stuffed gloves on it.
        - Let it dry in the fan over night

Water is absorbed well by paper. So this gives better drying than other methods and ensures the safety of your gear too. The next morning you will feel that the gear fits you better. Gloves especially.

          • Review of Triton Jacket

Bought on 05-May-2011 from Motorcycle Superstores for 120 USD (Medium Size)

            http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/39/34754/ITEM/Shift-Racing-Triton-Storm-Series-Jacket.aspx

Tried this last weekend on a sea side trip 200 kms from Kolkata.

Fit, finish and feel is excellent.

Honestly speaking it feels hot in stationary position.
While riding around 60 kmph or more you never feel the heat.
But if u are sweating inside the body remains cool and acts as air conditioner.
To me it is comfortable but may not be for others.
Had a rain once and it served excellent. No sippage inside.

Best thing to handle rain is simple Duckback RainProof Garments.

Bangalore weather being what it is, you should ideally have two jackets - one for extreme cold and the other for the hot summer. The 'winter' jacket could be a full Cordura textile jacket which will keep you warm and if taped at the seams will also keep you dry. For summer, I would recommend a mesh jacket.

If you can have only one jacket - I would go for a mesh like the Octane which has a rain liner inside. However my experience with Indian roads in the rain says that your jacket is going to get covered with all the muck that gets splashed on to you. After a day or two, the jacket will be unusable without a wash and in rainy weather becomes impossible to dry! I would instead use a rain poncho or over-jacket to protect my riding gear from getting too messed up.

A mesh jacket with the liner removed will serve well during hot dry summers and with the liner in provide adequate protection from the cold winds of winter. It will also serve you with some protection during rains if you don't mind getting it dirty.

            Hope this helps.

              HAHAHA...dude!!! I told you so....

anyways...there will not be any customs charged unless and until your friend is bring 4-5 riding jackets ...also, ask him to take out the labels.
Customs depends on your luck too....in my last two trips back to India, I was never stopped...once in Kol and once in Bangalore...mumbai and delhi are different story though....however, trust me...there are more ppl bringing in stuff much costlier than your jacket which just costs max 10k INR....

But sizing is a problem...check your size very carefully...some brands say "small" as 40 and some say "small" as 38 ....

haan ...if your friend is similar in body frame as yours then ask him to try out there and return if it does not fits...
It takes more love to share the saddle than it does to share the bed :)

Thanks so much dude!!!!!! ...so it seems pretty clear now...octane with raingear....and for winters...just a thin sweater inside with rain liner attached in my octane will work i guess...

hey...which mesh you are planning for and from where??? cortech has a mesh one too...but it has leather linings which i dont want to take chances with...when leather fades it looks terrible...maintenance will increase...

also...any clue on the raingear (2 piece set)...how much will a good one cost?? bachhoo motors has a Rjays ones for just 2300....looks nice...any reviews of those??

                      Hi Prince,

I bought few items from ICC world like saddlebags & tail bags. You will have to verify the quotes provided by ICC World if you are buying from Motorcycle Superstore. Tell them that it is a bulk order. First time when I received the quote they charged for shipment & duties separately for every item. Then I had to call them up & placed bulk order & found it cheap. But note that this will only work for Motorcycle Superstore & when you order in bulk. Also keep close eye on the USD to ISD conversion & you can ask them what rate they have used for forex.
If your item is available on other sites having the option of $25 shipment, then you can try that too, but remember even then you will have to pay for custom duties & taxes. Also check for weight restrictions.

But before checking the above options check if you can bring the items in India through some of your friend.

To all who want to purchase in US keep checking website retailmenot.com for coupons for many websites & it works. I used it when I was in US.
                      Regards,
                      Abhijit

                              Tachyon,

Honestly I am very happy and comfortable with this one.
Looks great and protection is really decent.
But it is little heavy and warm.
Suitable for temp below 30 deg Cel or Rains in our climate I guess.

Since I have not used other products and hence I cannot compare.

hmmm...but anyways you are lucky to get such a good fit yaar...there are so many different sizes for each brands that you keep searching for size charts!!! lets see how my venture will go....either will order with bachoo motors or will check out the orion motors in bangalore...for DSG nero and rjays octane... they said the stock will come on friday...

knee guard hunting is still going on...had sent a mail to "adventuresontherock" for the AXO ones...but was quoted 1900 including courier...but there are so many fakes that i am really reluctant to get those.. ...whom to trust whom not to...the images on adventuresontherock site is same as the ones in ebay (fakes)...have not seen the images similar to the original AXO site (padding has breathing holes and covered with mesh thingy) on any indian site....
