Already replied to you query on some thread.
    cant remember which one.

    Anyways here goes.

Owned them for approximately 2 weeks.
    Quite comfortable on the bike.
Only pushing the bike towards the back while sitting on it is nearly impossible as the boot limits the movement of the ankle for protection.

Walking around is also fine and manageable. Not as good as other shoes but i guess manageable considering the purpose they are built for.

Also i remember you asked me about the soles of the feet hurting.
Cannot answer that as of now cause i have used these boots for just 2-3 rides.
Just spent a max of 2 hrs in them per ride off the bike.
And didnt have to walk much.
descending stairs can be an issue.
But overall i suggest that you can go for them.
    no worries.
    everything is manageable.

I also suggested you to try Astars SMX 2
    check those out.
    Good luck for the hunt.

I am basically a city commuter traveling almost 60 kms daily. I also plan to make a few trips around mumbai area on weekends. Can you please help me identify the best set of items in a reasonable budget.

I'm looking to go for the bare basics first.. not planning to spending heavy as of now, but it should serve the purpose too.

It would be very kind of you to also mention a few places around malad area where I can get these from.
jacket: dsg maze or cramster breezer 4.0 price range 5-6k. havent tried the breezer but recommending because it comes with a removable waterproof liner unlike dsg maze.

gloves: cramster mx3 price 1100rs.. using them from the past 1 year 3-4 months... not a problem except for once when the stiching came of from the velco flap...

knee caps: soyco, axo or fox.... all in the range of 1200rs with proper shin guards... or you can go for water proof riding pants which will cost around 5-6k....

you can order all these online or visit their respective stores...

        Optimus: Red Mahindra XUV500 W8 FWD 2013

the SMX 2 looks like a good option.
and since they have a waterproof version as well... that's a plus point.

i did look up the Alpinestar SMX-R
(since it's comfortable for extended street use)
Alpinestar SMX-R the problems is... there's nowhere in bombay that i can try it on.

my choices are limited as there's hardly any variety here.
and even when there is... the colour/size/variant is out of stock.

guess i need to make a trip to pune for my boots.

          • hello people..
I'm a student. I ride to college everyday. Now, since d monsoon is already here, I'm in need of a good jacket which'll be waterproof+offer good overall protection. Now the thing is, after the riding is done, I'll b in college, where storing the jacket will be an issue. My college doesn't have lockers. And naturally these serious biking jackets are really heavy and bulky to keep in one's usual bag..i know that nothing might match my criteria perfectly. But I was hoping if someone could help me with at least a lightweight jacket. I checked out my bro's RJays Octane. It's awesome...but on the heavier side. If I don't get a better option, I am toally ready to go for it. It will be a good investment. But before I decide on it, can someone please let me know if any better jacket will suit my criteria??...Daily use + Removable Waterproof lining + LIGHTWEIGHT
            thank you

              thanks dear planet dsg.....

but alpinestar shorts are available on motorcycle superstore at 4050 rs. or say 90 $, so its better to purchase from US and bring to india via a friend.

alpinestar knee guards does not meet my requirements as i want a knee guard which covers entire shin.

                    Try out the alpinestar verona.

I got the air version which doesnt have any liners and is awsome for daily rides in this heat.

There is a version with removable liners too so maybe you can check that out.

Try the RJays Swift jacket RJays Jackets - BIKES I RIDING GEAR I PERFORMANCE ACCESSORIES I SPARES

It is lighter than the RJays Octane or any other jacket I've ever seen, but is 100% breathable and 100% waterproof at the same time. Also very easy to store it in a backpack etc

Can the RJays Swift also be used in the hot & humid Mumbai weather, apart from during the rains? Is it somewhat vented, like the RJays Octane?

Absolutely. It is almost as vented as the Octane. There is no jacket with all these features at this price. Plus it is widely sold in Australia, so you can be rest assured of the quality

Thanks for the suggestions Kinshuk.. I was reading through the thread and have found some bad reviews for cramster.. so I though of DSG instead.. I went to the A2Z Motorcycles at mulund this morning to get a DSG Nero.. but they didnt have my size in stock.. I tried a smaller size and found it too bulky..

I am looking for alternatives now.. do you have an idea about Rjays Swift jackets.. they look like a good option.. the only problem is the location of their stores.. Tardeo is a bit too far off for me..
