      • Dust and mesh jackets

        Guys,

Posting for the first time on this thread. I just purchased my first riding jacket so to speak. Its the Cramster Breezer 4.0. I first checked out DSG at Orion Bangalore, both the nero and maze and did not like them. Loved the Cramster fit and finish.

I had a query, many of you have been using mesh jackets for a while, I have removed the thermal and the rain liner from the breezer and the front portion is now basically two layers of mesh. Will this be a pain in terms of dust getting in? Will the inner shirt's have mesh like dust marks if we use it in the city where there is a lot of dust and pollution? I can attach the rain liner, but its a lot more comfortable to take off and wear without it, not to mention the heat.

What has your experience been with mesh jackets in terms of dust getting to your inner clothes? I have not yet used it. just got it today.

        Cheers,

haha... yes. But wanted to know if the dust does get in in a more than obvious way.

Just one question for the highlighted section in the above post.
is two layers of MESH enough to take abrasion if there is a front belly fall or be it a back side scrape....
I have been through a lot of crashes till date and my experience says Cordura 600 does not last either, i mean it does but its shattered completely and torn out.
And the breezer has Cordura + MESH, which is hardly believe to take the hit. Also since its a mesh jacket it can easily get torn when abrasion is felt at high speeds. Also there are chances of stones and other gravel to enter when sliding.

Reissa ingredients are also present but that does not take the burnt created by a high speed fall.
Every Accident i have ever had, i have studied every bit of it, Yes i have been able to avoid them but at times others mistakes have hit bad, Cant help for that now.

So was wondering how can just two layers of MESH can take a nasty fall say at 60kmph or even more...

Please clear this doubt of mine...
              Thanks

I doubt the front mesh will help during a crash. On the back, shoulders, and elbows they have the pads. I basically use the bike mostly for city commuting and don't ride very fast as such. The Cramster Eclipse is way better that way and a lot more sturdier if you are looking for one.

I guess no jacket involved in a crash would be usable again.

Thats alright that it wont be used again, the helmet theory applies here. Once crashed throw it.

Back protector yup, shoulder pads yup, elbow pads yup, but arent they covered with only two layers of MESH. Thats what iam hinting at, two layers can easily get torn.
Yes the leather one is Kickass product from the Indian Brand. Man that leather rocks....

I wanted to ask this question because a close friend of mine is planning to buy the same, so this info might be useful in selecting a good one. Also my other friends on XBHP like you can have such info and make a good selection.

                  Thanks for the info mate,
Others, if you have any details please pour in.

                  Thanks again,

                      Thanks again,
Oh well, the whole jacket is not mesh. The non mesh portions which consist of the entire shoulder sides of the jacket top back portion and on the front sides are made of pretty sturdy looking fabric. The mesh is only in the front portion covering the belly till the neck and at the back about 2/3rds and the back has the back pad. So this jacket would be decent for city riding, minor falls, etc. The Eclipse I felt was very sturdy, it was a hybrid one, where in you can remove a portion of the front sides and it has a underlying mesh layer(for summers). But the whole jacket was just too thick, heavy and not suitable for daily city riding.

IF you are looking for better options, then you need to go for the alpinestars etc

Me like rahul2880 need a way to get the things directly to us. Because if we order via a US returnee, we have to wait till he returns/ get it customs cleared safely/ then after arriving here, had it couriered to our place, etc., and moreover trouble him too..

Instead of these hassles, are there any direct way i.e like iccdirect.com but affordable?

Why don't you guys use Aramex's Shop n Ship service? I use it all the time, and there is no customs in Bahrain! Shipping's a bit costly but at least you have an option. I think another provider is ICCWorld.

                              & about home delivery,
Most websites do ship internationaly, so you get your product that way, and the reason for people asking US retunee to bring the stuff along is to keep the product cost low, as they save international shipping cost which at time's may be equal to the price of the product, and the saves the trouble to clear costums.

I wanted to keep the cost in check and am in no hurry so asked my friends friend to bring it down.........
