  • Planning to get the following gears:
    1.Rjays Swift Black Jacket
    2.DSG Revive Gloves

I see Orion motors is the dealer for both Rjays and DSG. Like to know whether they stock all the products of both the brands as I'm planning to visit in a day or two. If not should order Online.
About the Gears, are they ideal for city and touring in Summer? Any other options I should consider?
    Thanks.

I bought a Swift red/black jacket in Dec-2011. Really good for summer with good ventilation.

RJays Swift is a good jacket and a mesh jacket too. But then why don't you check the RJays Octane, it's a perfect all rounder jacket, although a little expensive, but worth the buck. Also the ventilation the jacket provides is phenomenal. And with the waterproof liner, the jacket can save you from most showers out there. And +1 for the looks too!

DSG Revive is a pretty good glove, serves it's purpose really well, but I don't think it's waterproof.

          Cheers!

          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

You've two options; get any of the brands like ICON, Dainese, Firstgear, Shift, Thor or anything from abroad. If you can do that, nothing like it.

            OR

if you cannot do it, get what is available in this country. Go through this thread where good brands are sold; you can get one sold from Performance Racing Store, Mumbai, Bachoo Motors, Mumbai or PlanetDSG.

I have been using the Rjays Swift for sometime now, I would recommend you to buy. Atleast when I visited, Orion had only Swift, no other Rjays jacket. Better call them up before visiting to confirm. They had all the DSG jackets though.

Then open up a franchisee for riding gears near SRM university. It might help a whole lot of others too

                    • ^^ Velavan Motors are not dealing in DSG products, only Rjays & Cramster.,
So nearest place for DSG will be B'lore (Orion Motors, The Helmet Shoppe etc. if any)..

Tks for the correction; any nearest riding gears showroom in Chennai would be none other than them & hence the suggestion.

That I really don't know; I use revive; they've lasted well & very good on Summer. Usually keep a point in mind when buying riding gears (holds good for everything as well) that, never buy a gear to say, I too ride with gear; buy it for your own protection. Reason being, expensive or cheap will show its true colors only during an incident & learning shouldn't happen through an accident.

a jacket, gloves and a helmet.
i have finalized on the helmet.

so guys i'm looking for a jacket right now, as u know that kerala climate consist of heavy summer & monsoon..
so i'm looking for a meshed jacket with a removable waterproof lines so that i can use it throughout the year

imy budget is 13k & i have some options
                                my first option is the
                                Alpinestars T-GP Plus Air Jacket - 8,499.00Rs

but the think that keep me away from this jacket is it does't have a waterproof liner my next option is

this one have a waterproof liner and fits in my budget but its not available in India
